I'm not banking any hopes on her, I don't expect her to survive the fight with the bear. Putting gear on her is a waste of time and resources in my eyes. There are plenty of other wildlings to equip who don't have a death wish.
Also, I would never risk a CotF with this. We only have 17 of them, and none of them have actually had children yet. Sending them into Other territory when we literally fought a Frost Dragon to get them out is counterproductive. Wildlings will listen to force just fine without the need of a CotF, the plan here is basically to make and equip conquerers in our name.
@DragonParadox, you are the best. SPEECH TIME! YEAH!
[starts brainstorming]
@TotallyNotEvil yes, Allied Defense will only apply to one or two allies. Still, it's damn cool and quite thematic. I was inspired by the novel Legacies by Modesitt, where the main character is a genuinely skilled leader but really builds his reputation (and the loyalty of his men) by using his extrasensory abilities to defend those who stood next to him. Nothing motivates the troops to charge into a hopeless-looking situation more than a track record of winning and a reputation for keeping those who follow you closest alive!
I take it that you could live with this build for Asha, if you have no other objections?
EDIT: Regarding her long-term build, I'd like to take Travel Devotion back at some point and get Wolf Fang Strike retrained into some other Strike. Riposte would also be nice. Gloves of the Balanced Hand seem necessary, and then she can go further into TWF feats as her BaB rises. Maybe get her Daring Outlaw too?
EDIT: Y'all should read Legacies, it was nice.
Nice book, strong main character, writing that stays simple and to the point but that never gets boring or flat. A nice change from the way a lot of fantasy is written. This felt closer to Téméraire than the Wheel of Time - which is nice, because I loved Téméraire's writing (although Wheel of Time did have an incredibly awesome writing style for prophecies and battle scenes).
Oh, and the action was good, the worldbuilding was mysterious but interesting without being too complicated, and it had secondary characters I gave a shit about. All that without most shitty romance tropes of today's YA that I'm sick of.
Although it did share one thing with Wheel of Time: weird gender politics (Matrial's Empire, I'm looking at you. Are you a weird dictatorship ran by witches, or are you a genuinely good society which fights against poverty, fights for women and vulnerable people, and brings peace to all in a land where wars an economic exploitation break out all the time? The answer is of course "a bit of both". Even worse, every single other society in the setting is shown as a worse alternative at some point - but the MC fights the Matrial anyway because of geopolitics and personal convenience).
Ah, a fellow Modesitt fan! His books don't get the attention they deserve. The Corean Chronicles are mostly pretty great (ignoring that one odd stand alone book). Have you read his Imager series? Or the Recluce Saga?
@DragonParadox Could we also get a report from Lya on summoning?
She's been at it from 13th to 27th included, if I'm getting the dates right. And I think she finished our droves of Daemon's true names and went on with Demons?

Sadly no. I only read Modesitt because my local library was giving away a battered copy of Legacies. Then I read Darknesses (they had it too) and a few years later someone gave them Soarer's Choice so I read that. I was a kid so I couldn't buy anything online, and they weren't in French bookshops. And it's been a while since I'd though of them: Legacies came back to me while I was thinking through "leader" archetypes, trying to find one that Asha could follow.
Should I be buying more now? Any recs?
Excellent. By the way, has the forging of the Legion's standards been completed yet? How many standards did we get? How many pounds of Valyrian Steel were used?

The second trilogy in the Corean Chronicles is good. It's a prequel to the first trio.
The Imager series focuses on magic users who create matter through visualization. Neat stuff, and different from Modesitt's previous stuff.
The Recluce Saga is massive, spanning thousands of years and a dozen or more main characters. I'm a fan, though they might be a bit too formulaic for some folks.
That's the thing, this was supposed to be a healthy pregnancy given the level of care she's been getting. I'm not keen on her having a bad childbirth solely because the dates were misremembered.
Hey @DragonParadox I think there is a small issue with the Tyrosh Scholarium. I was going around trying to add the progress made to our turn table on the Excel sheet and found out that you had counted the Tyrosh Scholarium action twice.
Naath Scholarum Outpost progress 9/20
OOC: It says something about Daenerys that nine-year-old school inspector is far from the most outlandish thing she has been.
