I askedwhat language Viserys apoke in so long ago! Hood to finally have an answer. Does he think in Draconic as a consideration to Varys?

Not quite Varys speaks Common as naturally as he. Viserys tends to slip into thinking in Draconic when he is in dragon shape and especially flying since it is just more natural and describes what his senses are showing hm much better.

@Azel - firing a couple ideas at you to see what you think. First, some sort of Grand Tourny to celebrate the unification of the Three Daughters. A way to get everyone of importance in one place in a positive environment, where we can reinforce the idea that they're now part of a bigger entity and put our top-tier diplomancy to good use, as well as fully showing off our new toys with no need to restrain ourselves in order to keep them from doing something rash. It would also serve a sop to our westerosi subjects, both in and out of our borders. It'd be good to remind everyone that since now we're well and truly invested in Essos.

I'd also like to found a new city smack dab in the center of the ex-Disputed Lands. A showing of prestige and power, a way of properly harnessing the extremely fertile and wealthy lands as they were never able to do so, and a method of extending our influence to the conservative landowners, which've seemed to form the most consistent opposition to our reign that we can't just purge. Not sure what to call it, though. Unity? Something describing how this was never possible when the lands were still disputed, but now the endless war and bloodshed is over and it's time for a new Golden Age. The whole thing's a useful statement, basically.

A Grand Tourney is a specifically Westerosi thing.
And founding a new city? We already did. It's called Sorcerer's Deep, and it's still growing fast!

I know, that's the point. We need to make an effort to still include that part of our culture into the realm. We can still include all sorts of Essosi stuff and call it something else, but the core concept will be the same.

So? We're creating a continent spanning Empire, we're going to be founding a lot of cities.

While a regional capital for the DL is a sound idea, now is not the time. We want to encourage growth in our own capital.

I've got to agree here. Maybe later, but for now we need to focus on integrating Lys and Myr into the Imperium, as well as encouraging migration to Sorcerer's Deep.

We really should get around to raising Derry at some point.

For the politics if nothing else.

Sadly no, I want to make something reasonably personalized.
Hmmmmmmmmmm. Archons, Archons, Archons.

I suggested a flying shield to round out his build quite nicely.

Perhaps enchanted with a forcefield?
Technological Gear – d20PFSRD

A nice thematic buffer to cover his dangerous role and lack of heart of earth.

Shield of Covered Retreat – d20PFSRD is useful for supporting allies in combat but not a great effect for him.

Something that let's him put rune magic on his wings like a gate archon would be pretty sweet as well. Also possibly an armor enchantment.

A phylactery of faithfulness its a balm to the mind of any alignment based character in a strange land. If not combat focused or expensive. (I had a crusader crusading in hell and he slept with his phylactery of faithfulness on.)

A better ranged option (sword beams ftw), something to delay or disrupt teleportation, something for the city, something to help him Harass mages better...

Don't think of it as being a second capital, it's just going to be a way of centralizing and controlling the Disputed Lands while reinforcing the idea of a united Three Daughters.

...how is that any different from a regional capital? I'm not bent out of shape by the idea that another major city could steal steam from SD. Just living there full-time makes it special-er than all the other cities by our mere existence and the fact that champions out of the Age of Heroes call the place home doubly so.

What you're describing is a cultural, economic and political center for a region. Not centralizing the governor's administration there takes away some advantages without any legitimate reason.

Why would we be creating a lot of cities? Essos is already full of them. We aren't planning any gulags or anything. I expect us to pull a Napoleon: improve cities conquered, change administration and economic system, but not found entirely new cities left and right!
That's crazily difficult and expensive, you know.

I think the city idea is more trouble then it's worth right now.

To tie things together, we should instead look to throw the Titan tools on making the road network. If we throw all three sets of tools at it, we can get the whole mainland network done next month with enough time left over to finish the first of the northern bridges in the Stepstones.

I tried to get that to happen, but nobody was interested. He'd be too underleveled to be seriously useful, and apparently political and personal reasons weren't enough to overcome the hassle. At this point, if it hasn't happened by now it almost certainly won't ever, which is a damn shame.

If it's any solace, our loyal bannermen, House Darry, might discover we can just casually do that shit like it ain't no thang, and then just ask for it politely. And this thread gets weird about its actual Real Deal Loyalist bannermen. As in, would uproot heaven and earth and destroy armies because someone sent an assassin after one of them.

Don't fuck with our bannermen, and always reward the loyal Lord. Two cardinal rules we've followed without ever making it official.

Which, coincidentally, is why we're so eager to make that treacherous maester pay.

I really hope his incompetence at the Wall doesn't make Jeor's job harder.

EDIT: It's really telling that his would-be rescuer immediately started insulting his lineage the second he learned what the idiot maester had been up to.

Alternatively, we should enoble him as Maelor Bearass
Which reminds me: enobling Bronn.

@DragonParadox has he thought up a name?

Also, no comments?
Hey @DragonParadox , I had this idea: there are often fairly drastic differences, if not in functionality, in the raw numbers between 3.5 and PF creatures.

Why not say PF demons and devil and such are simply a stronger breed/specimen? So a Succubus that has a handful of other Succubus (succubi?) serving her would he a PF one, and such.

I know, and I hope this will happen, it's just so frustrating to have people dismiss what should have been an incredibly important figure in Visery's life as 'too much of a hassle.' And I don't even agree with that last bit! We can always use more loyal PCs, he'd fit in just fine with a new B-team.

Counter argument, raising him in the company of his family would smooth over any issues, since having people around he trusts and finds confidence in would allow us to hand off the entire thing and wash our hands of it if he "doesn't approve of where life has led us".

Though I really sincerely doubt that will be his first reaction. Darry died alone, away from his family, knowing perhaps in his last lucid moments that if he did not get better there was a pretty good fucking chance his royal charges would straight up die and all that he and his family had sacrificed would be for nothing.

@LonelyWolf999, depending on how busy we will be with governing our new cities and shitholes, I'm down for a short diplomacy session in the Riverlands, including a visit to house Darry and raising him.

I don't want to recruit him.
I'm all for raising him if his family can take care of him though.
