Internal security as cities are fighting each other in many ways for funding and resources from the Senate.

Do You Hear The People Sing?

Giuseppe Tortelini, Reporter of The Times New Roman

Sabotage is a common tactic known since the days of the Early Civilisation up to the Rebirth of Ideas and Wonder. It is no wonder of its usage being used by the many cities that once were created for the people – now being simple counties used to benefit only a single unit of percentage.

Just last week – here in the City of Genoa, a force of thugs had destroyed the City's Town Square into ruin, not even its populace were spared from the destruction as the common lootings one would think match with those of the Barbarians be taken as "tribute" to its next door major City of Milan.

Ever since the Unification of the Italian States into one singular Governing Body, many of the cities across Italy were neglected in favour of the more important cities such as Venezia, Roma, Naples, Florence..even the Region of Sicily were given more money (no matter how the latter makes more sense for a recovery).

Ignored, and being used as brooding mares while being treated as simpletons by the higher-ups no matter of their education. The People of Genoa continues to be repeatedly harassed in the midst of these series of games of sabotages for the focus of "A Budget to help restore the Cities to become prosperous" – when in actuality little of it ever is returned back to the people in any capacity except for the important figures.

In which, requests for grants from the Genoese Municipality for their "business trips" in other cities with their own armed guard for their security with the increasing amount of tensions and violence swept across the "Unimportant Cities", vying for the Central Government's attention.

The problems only became worse, as the infrastructure of the once prominent City in the Italian Peninsula became shredded to the ages of time and destruction by many raiders and even inner insurgents – no doubt working for the higher Classes to make their plight more sympathetic to the Government.

Guards that once made sure crime was lessened, were on the backfoot as its higher command are repeatedly in fights against each other as all the members in their individuality are repeatedly blackmailed by the higher caste. With the Guard's indifferent and cowardice behaviour, Crime Rates only increased as many of the desperate sought food and coin for their own – and for some, their family's survival.

Innocents are on the brink of choosing sides, and if not – already occurring. Until the Government can begin mandating a new system of Enforcing of the Common Peace dictated by the Laws of the Italian Nation, a new way to divide the budget much more fairly by regional governments rather than individual rulers, and ways to defang the higher caste from continuing their leech tactics on the Common People of Italy and the Government of the Italian Nation.

Otherwise, expectations of dissertation of the foreign merchants, traders, and immigrants who sought the new European Powerhouse's enriched state would only continue to become positive.

… and decided to raze Tenochtitlan to the ground.
This is a Tragedy of unimaginable proportions that unironically makes me hate Charles and wish for his utter failure, disgrace and death.

Tenochtitlan was one of the greatest Cities on Earth at this time, greater then anything in Europe, certainly, unimaginablely rich in culture and history. In OTL, it's destruction was tragic enough, but at least that was largely because it was taken in battle and siege.

To have it so callously destroyed when you didn't even have to, all to build a monument to your own vanity and ego in it's place, is nothing short of a crime against History and Humanity at large.

Can in any of our actions do trade with him ? thay would help stabilize things faster for him amd help us too
He's using slaves, and the Italian Navy, which safe guards our merchants, has sworn to bringing an end to piracy and slavery. It's just not going to end well, and I'm afraid that Luciano has a greater undertaking in mind.
We will reach out to the tudors, and use the gold we have made off the Ottoman's purchases to bring there fleets into the Mediterranean to maintain peace...
[ ]Ordering the Navy: You have the most powerful navy in the world. You can use it as you see fit. So you will see it. DC:??? Reward: You use the Navy to enforce your diplomatic will. (Linetail what you want them to do)
While our fleets take islands to serve as Naval basing in the Atlantic and continue the war on the slave trade.

Remember when I said about Charles going insane? It's less he's gone insane, and more he realized just how powerful he and his Spaniards are, compared to everyone else in the New World, and has decided that he is going to change everything.

He's basically decided that everything on the continent before his arrival is merely... something to be torn down and rebuilt into an image of his own imagination. Like OTL.

but instead of the conquistadors burning everything out of ignorance or just plain malice... It's Charles doing it. Out of pure malice and ego.

Also, I think it should be said that I never said Charles was a good person. Just one of the few people that I'm rolling for, as he's one of the most interesting and powerful men in Europe, and the New World. And just because we were friends with him as a kid, doesn't mean that translates well when you grow up.

But if you want some good news out of all this. He maintained their great library and has moved it all back to Cuba.

But Yeah, Charles... what the fuck bro, have a snikers! Go back to Europe, your vacation is getting to levels of cringe I've only seen in Vegas.

Yeah, that settles it.
I don't want him to come back, I just want him to die in disgrace and failure and all he has tried to build burn to ashes. Preferably before his very eyes.

Charles is a man of ambition, that has always been clear, just…

Now he ran off and found a place where no-one could challenge him and his forces, so….

Egopolis time! :V

Singing in the Valley of the Night
Political agitation among the republicans that want to overthrow the monarchy and proclaim a republic.

Sequel of: Do You Hear The People Sing?

Singing in the Valley of the Night

"THE SITUATION IS ONLY BECOMING WORSE!" Fiumi Polidenti, a Die-hard Republican, yells in the midst of the Republican faction meeting building (as of course only afforded to the three factions of the Italian Government). "The Vicious acts can only be perpetuated as the Higher Castes continue to become lurchers and leeches stealing behind the backs of the common citizens of the people!"

"The People of Italy will continue to be abused as that Cross-Eyed Gun Leech in power with that Witch only making his incompetent mind much more sluggish and perceptive to the plight of the people he swore to represent!" Miamadre Belladonna, part of Polidenti's clique of Die-Hard Republicans, speaks loudly as he slams a fist onto the meeting table.

"It'll continue to become worse with you friable bunch of poltroons trying to Masquerade our supporters! Leading the Republicans serving the people and changing it to serving your heads of eggshells!" Shouts back Giovanni Respatori, another leader of the factionalised Republicans.

"What did you say?!" Belladonna shouts as he is red in anger at Giovanni.

"I think this session needs to quiet down.." Senator Octavian Ottorus speaks out with a frown before he is cut-off as the duo begins another one of their more consistent fights. He palms his face as he looks at the Republicans he was practically working with.

Ever since Machiavelli's own support of the creation of a Constitutional Monarchy, the Republican faction's once united front can only crumble in multiple spheres of cliques that Octavian can only compare to common thugs meeting with other factions of crime in taverns to host bar fights with the loose goal of 'bringing a semblance of peace'.

Once respected members that sought to bring forth a state that represents the people they were meant to serve, only turned towards holding grudges against anyone and everyone that would agree or disagree to anything.

Octavian couldn't help but believe this was one of Machiavelli's motives towards not favouring the Republicans much recently, to divide those who are truly loyal enough to form a legitimate government that would provide stability and those who only sought the destruction of the Monarchy – to split them means they couldn't collaborate to conduct a true revolution that would get King Luciano to leave the building.

His thoughts were interrupted as a bar match inside the Republican Faction Meeting Building practically destroyed every piece of furniture aside from the chair he was sitting on..for the third time that month.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, he shakes his head in disappointment at the other members of the faction, then decides to leave before anything more idiotic could occur that would even make him and his eccentricities annoyed.

9Scene Change9

Closing the door behind him, Octavian couldn't help but look at the night sky and its plentiful amounts of stars shining down on him and the several other people like him looking back at it with an awe-struck face.

Holding tight to his pistol, in case some idiot decides to try and mug him, he walks out of the place to take a wander around the Capital City of the Kingdom of Italy. Maybe a piece of inspiration would reach him to think about and add to his list of projects to develop?

The night breeze tickles his exposed skin, with its fresh and coolness being breathed into his nostrils bringing a sense of refreshment from the chicken hen that was his faction's meeting plac-

"HELP!" And other calls for attention are heard across the small commoner-based market section of the City.

Hearing them, Octavian grips his pistol as he quickly races towards where the calls for help came from with as much stealth he can place in – his adrenaline racing through him with all of his senses sharpened with the sound of a struggle being heard as he comes close to the location..

"Common thieves!" He thunders in anger as he sees these..thugs attempting to kidnap many of the commoners while destroying the many closed and open stalls, then the Night Guard..

"ARE YOU IMBICILES!" He yells loudly at the cowardly group of guards staying at the sidelines, causing them (and the thugs) to flinch and become shocked at the infamous Senator appearing out of nowhere. "DO YOUR JOBS!"

Not wanting the madman to try and rant at them, the Guards quickly apprehend the common thugs that tried to deface the Italian People's place of haggling, selling, and buying wares.

"How." He grits his teeth with anger as he grabs the neck of a passing guard with strength nobody expected him to have. "Did." His eyes look at the whimpering person's eyes. "This even happen! You and your brothers were here, were they not?" He gets a shaky nod in response to his query.

"When you see a person in need, you do not simply stand abide and let the crime happen!" He spits out with seething anger, he tosses the guard to the side. "Make sure not to allow this incident to happen again..no matter who tries to pay you or any of your friends!" The man pales at that implied knowledge. "Go!" he flees as Octavian continues to look at him with a disappointed look on his face.

"To think it even happens in Roma." His complexion softens to a saddened expression as he takes full attention at the crying civilians that was hurt during the whole incident..not to mention the destroyed stalls and – now his focus wasn't focused on a person anymore – the buildings that were trashed from the inside out.

"This is what happens when the so-called people's faction, The Republican Faction, continues their bickering on the less necessary subjects and not focus on the People." He mutters sadly, before a new idea enters his head.

"Mayhaps..I can get others to get on this venture – one that isn't focused on the Monarchy Question, but one that focuses on the issues, solutions, and providing service to the very people this Country stands for." He looks at the moon with a resolute look on his face.

Yeah, that settles it.
I don't want him to come back, I just want him to die in disgrace and failure and all he has tried to build burn to ashes.
Well, there is a problem with that hope.

The Spanish know where he is, and want him to come back... whether he wants to or not...

So this is about to get really awkward.

And very politically charged...

But what were you expecting? Charles to be a saint? he's a 16th-century Hapsburg monarch, who is poised to become the most powerful man in the world.

Even more than OTL because now, he's doing something that is even worse for the New World... Ruling competently.

And the saddest thing... the thing that will make you cry the most.

He's going to get away with everything... and be celebrated for this destruction by not only Europe but by the natives he's conquered because he tore down the city that symbolized the Aztecs that conquered them.

That will be His legacy in the New World.

That man broke an empire because it was there, and because he was able to unify all their enemies under him, and make them loyal to his nation and his God.
Charles is a man of ambition, that has always been clear, just…

Now he ran off and found a place where no-one could challenge him and his forces, so….

Egopolis time! :V
Especially since he's investing tons of the resources that would have gone to Spain OTL, into Cuba, and the Caribbean islands, and other places to cement his control there.

Some good news out of all this?

The Golden Age of Piracy will be fucking Wild!

But what were you expecting? Charles to be a saint?
No. Obviouisly, no ruler at this point in History is a Saint. Not even Luciano, though he comes probably the closest to 'good person' out of all of them.
I just hoped that maybe Charles wouldn't be a complete, disgusting Monster.

Well, there goes any appetite I had for following this Quest.
And as for the Natives celebrating him? Yeah, that'll last for all of five minutes before he enslaves and genocides them all much like the Spanish did in OTL.

It's a shame, but sometimes you go somewhere where nobody knows your name, and that's always dumb. He should be where his people are, and everyone knows his name. Alas, we lack a sizeable army, and officers, which I also have a plan to fix, but it will take time. For now, we kills the men bringing him slaves, and convince Spain if they want him to return, they need to strangle his budding empire by denying it men and goods, convince the British to trade in the Mediterranean instead of with the new world. Starve his empire of manpower and modern amenities.

Yeah…..

The Aztecs done no favors to anyone else in their area. They are essentially the local empire. Which incidentally means it unfortunately is somewhat also a PR move to destroy the symbol of Aztec power, as it's not like anyone but the Aztecs would care about keeping it. :V

I know whatever justifications for this act there might be.
I just don't care.

And if destroying symbols of power was the goal, it would have been more then enough to raze the Temples and Palaces instead of the entire damn city.

Of course they want Carlos to return, but the trade routes in the new world are too beneficial to try to destroy his empire. And it's not that he's a threat to us, Suleiman is the one we have to worry about, not Carlos.

Well in the new world perhaps...

But not in Europe.

Luciano is in Europe right now, and he can do a lot of things, to a lot of people.

No. Obvioisly, no ruler at this point in History is a Saint. Not even Luciano, though he comes probably the closest to 'good person' out of all of them.

Reality is often disappointing.

And frankly, that's history.

We are playing Lucaino as truly decent... human being, who has no great ambitions besides bettering his nation, and the world.

Others... not so much. Especially Charles.

Charles was not a good person IRL.... he had decent qualities about him, but make no mistake, he allowed basically, Cortes and company and Pizzaro to do what they do best.

Here, he just cut the middleman out and did it himself.
Of course they want Carlos to return, but the trade routes in the new world are too beneficial to try to destroy his empire. And it's not that he's a threat to us, Suleiman is the one we have to worry about, not Carlos.
But we are a threat to both empires. in fact in an existential way.

We're between them, and the cheap African slave labor that will run their colonies and make them rich beyond imagination. Even more then the conquest of Mexico.

Whats the phrase about the Wealth of nations? I'm forgetting :V

--[X] Crete
--[X] Rhodes

I just realized a major OOF with the peace plan with the Turks. We completely wasted our territorial concessions considering that Crete was already under the rule of the Venetians, thus it was already De Facto Italian territory and Rhodes was under the rule of the Knights Hospitaller, thus we wasted concessions on stuff the Ottomans should not have gived.

If it's not too much trouble for Magoose, I hope we can retcon it to the Ottomans giving all of the Dodecadense Islands and Cyclades islands so we rule over the entrance into the Aegan Sea. Also a reminder that we should have Cyprus and strips of Dalmatia and Albania since it was Venetian territory.

As for Spain, I don't understand why they're going through the trouble of Charles when they got a spare in Ferdinand who is willing and able to rule Spain. He was a competent Emperor OTL and generally has a far better personality of moderation, tolerance and flexibility than the insane Charles.

Suleiman is too busy with internal problems to bother us and likely will remain so for quite some time to come. He'll rebuild his Empire before trying anything abroad again.

Charles, on the other hand, relies on Slavery to build his new Empire...and we have sworn to end the Slave Trade across the Mediterranean.
You can see where this is going.

The Golden Age of Piracy will be fucking Wild!
The fuck you talking about magoose? Golden age of piracy? With the Italian Navy soon to establish itself across the Atlantic? Piracy is going to be the world's second deadest profession by the time Luciano is 35.
There maybe some Omake Prompts to work with in relation to the Military (I'm already working on another one as a Sequel to the Duo Omakes I've just posted):
I'll come up with something, but I also intend to hire Gotz to whip them into shape.

But doesn't Carlos get the slaves from the sub-Saharan trade routes controlled by the Portuguese? How do we threaten his slave labor?
Those Routes won't be enough to supply Charles with all the Slaves he needs for building his new Empire. He'll want to tap into more of them, even establish whole new ones...and since Spain lies on the Mediterranean, we, and our Mission, are about to become a Problem for him.

There is one good thing about the americas. The Inca is still intact, and is giving the good fight as a group that didn't make all of their neighbors hate them like the Aztecs did. One has fallen, but one still remains in defiance.

The Spanish Armada vs the Italian Madlad navy.
Well, things might get interesting. An expedition to the americas might be useful, to assist enemies closer to our new potential enemy's 'safe' land.
