Book 3: Chapter 1: A New World
Where a Boy King, becomes a Man, and all that entitles.

You were struggling to find a simple way to gather your courage. That itself was not a truly brave thing. You knew that everyone would have that moment when getting out of bed was something that was difficult. "Your Grace, it is time to get up."

But you knew that, as a child, you could get away with sleeping in. Not anymore, because at this moment… You could only feel… tiredness. "Let me sleep longer. Your king demands it." You stated as you turned on your bed and placed the pillows over your head.

"Luciano, get out of bed, or I will make sure that the paperwork will not get done by another assistant." The voice of your tired, and very much weakened mentor, awoke you, and you sat up.

You could see that, despite Macheveli's best efforts, hiding his affliction and stress with some makeup, scented perfume from the east, and bright colors that he could afford in his position, he still looked as if he had aged decades. His once bright and vibrant hair was as grey and wispy as an old man's, and his eyes, despite having the white powder covering his face, could not hide the large, thick, and black bags of exhaustion that had shown his commitment to Italy.

You saw the Chambellan standing beside him, trying his best not to seem scared at your annoyance. He was still getting used to the… changes that your position carried, and the simple fact you were still not very good at the whole King business.

Even the simple fact that people were pretty much at your beck and call, and you still tried to do everything yourself was honestly something more akin to a King of France, than to this new Italian Nation.

You curled out of bed before looking for some pants. "I was at the forge last night, seeing the last of the finishing touches being… made." You sighed before you stretch, and looked at the Chambellan having your clothes and shoes ready. "Thank you."

Another thing that most of the courtiers noticed, was you're unwavering politeness at them. You had not been in certain situations, but you were just a regular boy before becoming king. There was a sense of respect among them.

As you got dressed, you looked at Machieveli, who was quietly looking around your room. "You have been reading The Prince, haven't you?"

"I have Master." You said quietly, as you slide your shirt on. "A good read, one that has been helpful for me, during these times?"

"I am glad you find my advice useful." He responded as you put on your pants. "Are you almost done, we have much to do today."

"I am moving as fast as I can master, and I can say that the Senate has never really been one to enjoy my presence." You replied.

"A fresh house with a fresh election, the first of its kind has just taken place all over Italy, where citizens and subjects elected their first representatives of this new body, and you do not think they will enjoy your presence? The boy who unified them?"

"You unified them Master, and no one will ever forget that." You stated with a shrug. "And you won your seat unanimously, and were chosen as a minister."

"To think that this dream of mine was but a thought all those years ago." He sighed. "I know this may sound-"

"Don't talk like that Master, you are plenty young enough as it is." You smiled, trying to make the old man laugh. But instead, he just looked down.

"You know I'm not strong enough to keep going until I die. You will have to find someone else you can trust in your government, and even one that you don't so that this nation can thrive."

"Yet I can still see that you will be the one who-"

He held your shoulder, and you stopped. "I know. But that will not be your choice, my boy."
-----------------------------------------

As you walked forward to the assembled Senate, they all removed their hats and allowed you to see their faces. A few were soldiers and survivors of the Sicilian campaigns. Cosmo was among them, still smiling as he noticed you helping Macheveli.

A few of Fredirico's Naval veterans were there as well, so bright and colorful from the great victories and the loot. They all were there for their success, battle hungry and hardened. They were drunk on victory and hoped to continue it.

And finally, there were the Republicans, the least well-dressed of them… but they were all prepared for their service.

Do you say something?:
[]Yes: Time to show them you are prepared.
[]No. You will let your Master speak.

AN: Enjoy everyone, and Welcome to A Reforged World, The Long Awaited Sequal to Rebirth of the World (NO SV, Welcome to the Renaissance), where you are Lucian Grazini, former gunsmith of Florence, through the work of his master Machiavelli and many others around him, have placed him on the Throne of Italy, a responsibility that he was not ready for, but he has succeeded marvelously in his short regency.

Now he is a man grown, who must guide the ship of state, through the rest of this crazy century.

Also @Randino Treviani you asked me to pin you when it finally posted... so I have.

An Anthem of Italians
An Anthem of Italians

You were confused as you were just about to attend another night at the forge before being brought by Machiavelli to the local church.

Honestly, with the previous mess with the Roman Catholic Church about the entire estate of their holdings in the capital, you weren't sure if you were even going to be welcomed again by another church, however this one does.

Especially when you looked upon a boy about the same age or more in front of you with an excited look on his face, glowing further when he saw you walking in with an amused Machiavelli beside you.

"Hello! Your Majesty!" He bowed, while you curled an eyebrow wondering why your master even got you to meet with the young lad, but before you could say anything, the man continued. "Francesco de Layolle at your service, and one at that with tonight's performance."

A musician? You turned your head towards where the organ was located as the man walked towards it with a skip in his step. You then look back at Machievelli as he gestured to you to take a seat.

Inwardly, you continued to wonder why you were even here tonight when you could keep continuing the innovation spree on the off-chance that the French tried an invasion on a seemingly weakened Italia..

When the music played however, you finally understood..

More so as old Machiavelli smirked with a nod.

How to Unite a still welding country? A Song that speaks to them all.

Version One:

Il Canto degli Italiani
Written By: Armando Giovanni (A Soldier and Veteran of the Ottoman-Italian War)
Composed by: Francesco de Layolle

Brothers of Italy,
Italy has woken,
Bound Scipio's helmet
Upon her head.
Where is Victory?
Let her bow down,
For God created her
Citizen of Rome.

Chorus:
Let us join in a cohort,
We are ready to die.
We are ready to die,
Italy has called.
Let us join in a cohort,
We are ready to die.
We are ready to die,
Italy has called, yes!

We were for centuries
downtrodden, derided,
because we are not one people,
because we are divided.
Let one flag, one hope
gather us all.
The hour has struck
for us to unite.

Chorus

Let us unite, let us love one another,
For union and love
Reveal to the people
The ways of the Lord.
Let us swear to set free
The land of our birth:
United, for God,
Who can overcome us?

Chorus

From the Alps to Sicily,
Legnano is everywhere;
Every man has the heart
and hand of Ferruccio
The children of Italy
Are all called Balilla;
Every trumpet blast
sounds the Vespers.

Chorus

Mercenary swords,
they're feeble reeds.
The Ottoman ships
Has already lost its dreams.
The blood of Italy
and the German Blood
It drank, along with the Sailors,
But it burned its heart.

Chorus

Version 2:
Italia Forever
Written By: Armando Giovanni (A Soldier and Veteran of the Ottoman-Italian War)
Composed by: Francesco de Layolle

(First Stanza)
Marching Together (in the)
Name of Italia
Brothers and Sisters fighting tyranny
Before divided, Now united
Against our enemies and slavers too!

Come! Let them fight on the seas!
Come! Let them bleed on our fields!
Italia will fight on, Come on my friends!
We shall never surrender!
We shall never surrender!
Italia will fight on, Come on my friends!

(Second Stanza)
Italia Forever
Against our enemies
To bleed to save another life
Families suffer, no longer!
From Romans to Venetians
To Naples to Savoyans
United in one flag
United in song!

Come! Let them bleed on our seas!
Come! Let them bleed on our fields!
Italia will fight on, Come on my friends!
We shall never surrender!
We shall never surrender!
Italia will fight on, Come on my friends!

(Third Stanza)
Italians Together (in)
Unity, Justice, and Freedom
Serving one Kingdom
Serving one's own King!
My Brothers and Sisters
Of the Land of Greatness
We shall spread our wings
And rise from the ranks!

Come! Let them bleed on our seas!
Come! Let them bleed on our fields!
Italia will fight on, Come on my friends!
We shall never surrender!
We shall never surrender!
Italia will fight on, Come on my friends!

N/A: You may be asking: Why did I place down two songs? Well I was only going to post the 2nd Version before realising people would complain and say to use the Original Anthem (Il Canto degli Italiani), which I decided to place down as Version 1..along with changing the last part of it as it was strongly implying the Napoleonic Wars and Italian Liberation War against the Austrians and "Slave of Rome" To "Citizen of Rome" for obvious reasons with the Italian Navy and Foreign Policy.

Book 3: Chapter 2: A New Age
Book 3: Chapter 2: A New Age
In Which the King realizes that Destiny is now Upon him, and the only thing he can do is meet it head-on.

It was rather strange to be speaking to so many men in front of you, but that was the extent of numerous problems that all came together at this very moment. You were not alone, that you were certain of, as you had your master right beside you, ready to save you from embarrassment and from the sanctity of having to desecrate yourself in the public forum that was this new institution, the Senate.

Yet even in that mirror or horror, that was standing in front of men to speak to them, there was a sense of calm. There was a sense of ease, as they all had no expectations for you. There was no anything.

You were a blank Canvas that you could change their entire being on.

Change their outlooks into something far more solid or malleable than you could ever expect.

Speech Preparedness:D100 => 79+20+3=102

Thankfully, you had had time to prepare for everything, to tell them precisely what you wished, not in writing, but in the words that you had, in your voice!

"All of you have come here to serve as representatives of my Government. That all of you have come here to not only see me, as I grant you leave to do such a noble and brilliant task, for the safety of Italia but also in the simple matters that are even greater than all. Of all the great matters of state, the eyes of the world are upon us, hoping that we fail in this great and noble endeavor that we all share."

You paused and moved. "Perhaps it is not unwise to remind ourselves that the great kings and Emperors of Europe do not have a noble and illustrious history, that shares, in our ancient history, when men gathered in the Republic of Rome to serve as their own masters. That we seek to reclaim much of that heritage, while keeping an eye to the noble politics that has granted us strength, and have become a mainstay of our times, is not lost to us."

"They want us to fail, for our noble experiment in bringing back our Senate could only be done by us, then any of the other fools that would seek to replicate it. So as we begin this great journey, do not forget that history is watching us all, and Almighty God will smile upon our noble quest."

As you ended, Machiavelli was smiling, and you could understand his pride as he walked behind you, going back towards the Palace forge. "I think that was rather simple. The kind that took no risks and was precisely as it was needed."

"Could have used a little more flowery language, but you got your point across accurately, and in a way that is not demeaning." Your master then frowned. "Back to the Smithy?"

"You can take a blacksmith from the forge and make him King, but you cannot take the Forge away from the Blacksmith. It's honest work that reminds me of my true passion. Not of yours."

Your master shook his head. "The stories that will be told of you when the future writes your histories. Do you ever think about what they will think of you?"

"Not particularly, I'd rather my inventions and actions do my talking for me." You replied. "Is there anything else Master, that you wish to speak of?"

Your master then sighed, and let him tap your back. "There will be many things that will require your attention in the future, do not forget that."

"I know." You state quietly, as you reached the new forge. "I just want you to know that sometimes, there are a lot of things I always want to do."

"Gunnery for you can be left to others." Your master replied.

"Yet there is no one better than I at Gunsmithing." You replied. "And you know that."
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Governmental Actions: You are now the Master and Commander of the State. Though there is a great deal of power you have, there is also much power you do not. As you are the commander in chief, you are in charge of the Army, and the Navy.

You have 3 actions.

[]The Prime Minister: Of the Consul of the Senate… The Head of your new government, as well much more. They will be your chief advisor, a man in charge of many domestic and international issues. You also get some say on who it would be. DC: 0 Reward: You choose your new Prime minister, and your government is formed.

[]Ordering the Navy: You have the most powerful navy in the world. You can use it as you see fit. So you will see it. DC:??? Reward: You use the Navy to enforce your diplomatic will. (Linetail what you want them to do)

[]Rebuilding Rome: Rome is an ancient city, a city that has, for too long suffered in disrepair and slimness, you want to see just how feasible it is. DC:??? Reward: You look at a City of Marble, and wish to make it more.

[]Invest in the Future: You want to invest in your country, and there are a few ways you can do that (Write in what you want to invest in) DC: ??? Reward: You invest in the nation (Linetail what you want to invest in below this action as a line tail)

[]The Changing Winds: You look at many of the French envoys that are being sent to you. And then you look at a map. "What does the King Want?" DC: 25 Reward: You learn to your dismay, that you caused a great uproar. And put the Fear of God into all of Europe.

[]The New World: You want to plan a new world Expedition. DC: 40/80 Reward: You begin the Planning phases of a New World Expedition.

[]The Moderates and You: The Moderates are what you expect. Men who want nothing more than to keep Italy stable, happy and their positions secured. It is an honorable position to have, and perhaps there are things that can make things happy. DC: 20 Reward: You meet with the Moderates, and discover their objectives and political makeup.

[] The Men who would make you an Autocrat: The Grazini's. The so-called Royalists, and His Majesty's most Loyal Friends in the Senate. That is to say, they want to destroy the Senate, and the farcical Republican institutions that had been instilled into the Nation. While you do not agree with their… final goal, you also see that they can be good allies in a pinch, to secure a majority in government. DC: 20 Reward: You meet with the Royalists, and find out more about their objectives and political makeup.

[]The Last Republicans: There are not many that would consider themselves Ardent Republicans… That much was certain when they dwindled in the last few years. But they are men who were of the same Cloth as Machevelis coat before Macheveli chose the State, then his republican ideals, men who saw the bright future of a Republic smothered away by compromise, instead of dealing with it. DC: 20 Reward: You meet with the Republicans. The men who would have given everything for a Republic.

Personal Actions: To think, being an adult means you have more time to work. Quite impossible.

You have 4 actions.

[]Letters from an old Friend: Charles has sent a letter from the New World. A New World he intends to conquer. DC: 0 Reward: You look at the whole letter, and realize something strange. He doesn't want to come back.

[]Simple Pleasures: Your master has decided to take a break out in the countryside, and you, in your infinite wisdom… joined him.

[]The Prince: You are going to learn from your master's book, and see what wisdom you can gleam. DC: 55 Reward: you learn how to be a Prince of a nation.

[]Of God and Command: Your Master is not just a diplomat without peers, but he is a commander of men, and while he is not seasoned as other commanders in Italy, he does have immaculate organizational skills. DC: 25 Reward: You learn how to command men, and to be a leader.

[]The Keys of State Craft: Your master wants you to learn the fine arts of making friends and allies. Even if it means you abhor them. DC: 40 Reward: You learn the fine arts of diplomacy.

[]The Law of the Land: You need to learn how this new constitution works. And that means doing other things. Like learning how laws work. DC: 40 Reward: You learn more about the law.

[]The New Nobility: You want to meet the new courtiers. AKA the people you know will be wishing to be parasites to the state. DC: 30 Reward: You talk to the new courtiers.

[]The Diplomatic Situation: You need to know how the state is viewed by the Rest of Europe. DC: 40 Reward: You see the documents. And worry about progress.

[]The Eagle: Ezio has returned and is back to the problem at hand. Trying to serve as a friend to a king. DC: 40 Reward: You meet Ezio again.

[]Innovate or Die: You are the greatest engineer alive. Perhaps you can come up with something. DC:??? Reward: You invent something (Must line tail what you wish to invent below this action, can be taken multiple times)

[]To Design a Better Gun (Firing mechanism): You have an idea to make the Design better, and now all you need to do is put it to paper and try it out. DC: ??? Reward: You make the gun better.

The French Ambassador… or was it Envoy because they did not have an established presence in the capital… You would ask about that later. Was not someone who was really interested in the subtleties of the great Diplomatic game.

No, he was on a mission clearly, and you had to dress up for this because somehow, he wouldn't take one of your ministers as an answer, you know, the men who were actually trained for this and had the authority to do this job. No, he had to get it directly from you.

"I hope that this meeting will be quick." You stated firmly as you sat down on the throne, trying your best to not feel any sort of disdain for a man that was true, making your life miserable. "What does the King of France want?"

"There are quite a few things that His Majesty wishes to discuss with you, but this meeting will only be the first of many."

"And you wanted me to be the one who spoke to you for a reason?" You asked.

"Of course, when your ministers said that you were preoccupied with several matters, I believe it would be quite simple for us to…" He paused. "Have this conversation."

You prepared yourself for the possibility of the man being an assassin, but instead, he removed several scrolls, and you began to read them.

Its contents were… Quite generous. "A mutual trading compact that will see our two nations begin a long and busy road towards profit."

A moment later, you smiled… and you stood, as your Minsters walked in. "Perfect timing gentlemen. I think the details can be changed, but the idea in spirit is much appreciated."

The Envoy realized you had played him. "Well played Your Majesty. Politics suit you."

"No, they do not, and you knew it." You replied.

Thankfully, other men who were better could assist you.
------------------------------------------------------------

"They changed their tune quickly." You stated to your master as you took a moment to take a breath. "Are the new reports in?"

"The French see that another power, naval power has risen from the ashes of the Italian Peninsula, I wouldn't put it past them to try and isolate us and try to find a way," he stated as he swirled his wine. "Are you truly going to have beer for dinner?"

"I don't like wine. Too sweet for my taste." You then looked at the thick beer. "Now, tell me of its report."
----------------------------------------------

The Report of Foreign Interests.

France: +2

As much as France has remained friendly with the Kingdom since its founding and unification, they are still quite bitter at the loss of territory, and any alliance or partnership that they seem to want to thrust upon us will see us as the Junior Partner, even simple ones like Trade deals as we do not have an army to wholly make ourselves an equal partner. Even with the Marines, they would require insanity.

Above all else, every minster believes, without question… that France is an existential threat, that cannot be trusted, despite its posturing and offers of friendship.
-------------------

Spain: 0

We have come to several agreements with the Spanish crown since we have been able to posture ourselves into a position of strength. Now that we are in no physical danger of losing Italian and Sicilian Territory, there are many things we can do with that knowledge.

Especially with their stance on the New World.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

The HRE: ???

You have no fucking idea what the Emperor or the Electors are thinking on any given day regarding your nation.

Neither are your ministers.

And you think the Emperor and the Electors don't know either.
-------------------------------------------------------------

England: +8

Honestly, the fact you are not allies on Treaty and everything else is a diplomatic nightmare that needs to be fixed incredibly soon.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Nothing on the Ottoman Empire?"

Your master smiled. "I think it best to focus on actual enemies. Rather than defeated ones."

Reward: While the French Envoy had tried to play politics against you, the political novice king to try and swing for a far more lucrative deal, you did not fall for it.

There is a thing about what nations surround you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Rebuilding Rome: Rome is an ancient city, a city that has, for too long suffered in disrepair and slimness, you want to see just how feasible it is. DC:??? Reward: You look at a City of Marble, and wish to make it more. Rolled:D100 => 87+25=113

You looked at Rome and what did you see?

A City Dying…

A City that can be redeemed.

Turned into the greatest city in the world again. You just needed time.

Resources…

And a lifetime to do it.

Reward: You can now begin to rebuild Rome.
-----------------------------------------------

-[X]The Keys of State Craft: Your master wants you to learn the fine arts of making friends and allies. Even if it means you abhor them. DC: 40 Reward: You learn the fine arts of diplomacy. Rolled:D100 => 23
-[X] The Law of the Land: You need to learn how this new constitution works. And that means doing other things. Like learning how laws work. DC: 40 Reward: You learn more about the law. Rolled:D100 => 25

Honestly, you were more happy about having other people do the job for you… While you instead waited for…

Other things. You were better than this.

Failure.
----------------------------------------------------
-[X]The New Nobility: You want to meet the new courtiers. AKA the people you know will be wishing to be parasites to the state. DC: 30 Reward: You talk to the new courtiers. Rolled:D100 => 10

You honestly think that you were purposely being left alone by the nobility because no one could ever match your expectations of other people.

And honestly, it was rather degrading.

You just wanted to have another friend.

Failure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]Simple Pleasures: Your master has decided to take a break out in the countryside, and you, in your infinite wisdom… joined him. Rolled:D100 => 94

You joined him that day and you were just looking out from the back of your horse, and he noticed. "Something on your mind?"

"I feel like the others are not really ready for being my friends." You said. "I wanted to order some of the other young men and women into the court, just to talk to them… But then I stopped myself because honestly, I did not want to use my position to just bring others to me who do not share the interest in being my friend."

There was a pause, and your master nodded. "It was very wise of you to do that." He replied as he stopped, as you caught up to his horse. "There are many things that I neglected to teach you. That being how to gather those your age and act through friendship." He paused. "I put my own well-being, and ambitions, ahead of yours."

"But you did teach me how to survive. That alone deserves praise." You replied.

"Yes, to survive. But not how to live. Not how to find companionship in others, in different interests and ideas." He replied. "And that is something" He then stopped, holding his arm, and feeling wiping the sweat from his brow. "Something I-"

You lept from your horse to his own to keep him stable as he slouched and collapsed into his saddle, keeping him safe and stable. "Master! Master!"
-----------------------------------------------
The Doctor looked at your master, and then at you. He was quiet before he spoke. "He was lucky to have you. He would have died if not for you bringing him to us."

The Florentine doctors were among the best in the world, and having one on staff was always something, though you did question why they always bled people when they were sick.

Perhaps it is just your mind thinking.

"Thank you." You replied.

"Luciano." Macheveli was quiet, but you moved through the men at his door and grabbed his hand. "I'm sorry that I'm failing you. But I want you to know just how proud I am of you."

Reward: You saved Macheveli from his heart attack, and the doctors, through some medical miracle, saved his life.

Unknown Positive effect on the rumor mill.

On an aside, All Personal rolls will have a +20 to their rolls next turn.

AN: Enjoy.

Interlude: Choosing the Prime minister
Interlude: Choosing the Prime minister

You looked at the men who were on the list, and honestly couldn't help but feel… a sense of silence and quiet. "Why are you not putting your name in, you are a member of the senate Master?"

Machieveli laughed in his bed before he leaned up. "I have already given much for our people and institution, and I believe that much of the matter would require me elsewhere. I had hoped that since you became a man, you would not need my input."

"Yet you have always been the one who has been needed when the nation calls?" You replied. "I am just the one who gave his face and his life so that you could succeed."

Your master smiled. "A Courageous sacrifice that all in this country will remember when history comes to write on your canvas."

"Or be forged in Iron." You stated.

There was a cough from your master before you handed over a glass of water. "Do not mistake my weakness and lack of…" He paused as he drank the water. "Strength."

"Then stay."

That earned you a laugh. "And yet I am going to refuse. You see my condition. I'll die, and then we will have a crisis that I will not be able to fix."

"I give you my absolute and unwavering trust Luciano, to make the right choice in who you chose. Because it cannot be any worse than doing nothing." He replied.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The list of men who were available was hand chosen by Macheveli… though that was after his heart attack, and you were not sure if the men were truly capable.

They were all young though, older than you of course, but young.

They were not among the old guard that slowly build around the elder statesmen that were growing in the Senate. They were young, and inexperienced, but had grand ideas and dispositions that seemed to think were going to work well.

The fact Cosmo did not wish to serve another term as Prime minister, said everything about his situation.

It was no longer a crisis, and there may be things that you could relax.

Maybe.

Who do you Choose as your Prime minister?:

[]Senator Octavian Ottorus of Milan: A Republican who gained this position because everyone couldn't stand him in the Senate, chosen for his eccentricities and because the rest of his parties and the Senate believe he is putting far too much stock on radical ideas that would see the nation bankrupt. He is eccentric, yes, but no one ever doubted his oratory skills, his keen mind for detail… now if only he could see that he needs to remain focused on his duties, instead of flights of fancy and ideas that… irritate you to no end. You have never seen a genius like him so interested in politics though, and that counts for something.

[]Senator Randio Travioli of Venice: A Moderate whose idea of not only maintaining the status of Italy but of trying to bring it, slowly, into a new modern world that has been created with the founding and unification. He is a man after your own heart in a sense, his eyes focused firmly on the future, if only for his own interests rather than others. You cannot say that he would be your first pick, but he was chosen by members of the party because they believe he would be a firm pick.

[]Senator Bertolfo Antinori of Palermo: A monarchist who formed a coalition government with the moderates to achieve his place. You know next to nothing about him save for his love of the Navy, and his very strange scheme, a scheme that would make you the pariah of Europe if not careful. He wants to use the navy to force open all the ports of Europe to Italian traders and merchants… by force if necessary. He believes, that in any event where profit could be made, if not by treaty, then by force of arms, they must be taken.

A New Time's Roman
A New Time's Roman

Octavian frowned as he exit the meeting His Majesty and the other three (one he believes would result in focusing only the short term and his own pocket, the other being too much of an absolutist prude that would gather the Senate to bring either the Habsburgs or Capetians Dynasties to replace the Cannon King.)

Speaking of the Cannon King, he couldn't help but turn his head back to where the meeting occurred, he knew of his family's humble beginnings. Who wouldn't? They were at the forefront of European Gunpowder Weapons Manufacturing that their son took over and pushed towards new heights no one has ever seen..

It is the will and ingenuity that made Octavian respect him, especially being a rather liberal ruler in case of actually being under a constitution and restoration of the Senate from the Times Old Romans..

Removing such thoughts from his head, he continued towards his Rome-based abode in a quick walk, hand gripping the handle of his pistol in case of any muggers trying to make a quick florin from him..

He frowned, he mentally noted his plans to begin a transition towards restoring Denarii as the Italian Currency, not the French-based one the Italian Kingdom is using as of now..also adding in a proposal for a city-based civilian transportation service someday in the future..

He opens and walks through the front door to his Roman home before closing and locking the door. He turned around and was greeted with what could be described as a messy library, with an open door at the back of the room leading somewhere. Seeing it, he walks towards the open door with a growing excitement and through it to find a printing press with a different lay-out to its common form.

First off, while the press itself remains practically the same, the template used to imprint on paper was quite different. A new text font that he tried and tested to other people on the streets to be readable, clear, and professional. Next was the spacing and boxes for texts to be printed, spaced out, or empty (for now). Finally there was the fact that the press is larger in terms of reach, as can be seen by a longer paper than thought already on a platform..ignoring the already crumbled papers of ink and broken parts/tools at the back of the room.

He smiled, he had made progress ever since he was a young lad in Milan who heard of Gutenburg's process and sought to create his own version..although while he found a much stronger passion in comparison, he still sought to develop such an idea. In no part thanks to Luciano.

He cracked his knuckles with a satisfied smile, and a great plan that his friends in the Senate (If you ask them, they'd claim they don't know who the madman is) would never suspect him to develop.

Once the wooden blocks he ordered from the nearby carpenters arrive, that is.

It took weeks..but it was worth it.

Ottorus smiled his iconic eccentric (in Senator Oca's words: madness) smile while pulling a small wooden cart he had collaborated with the nearby carpenters with a whole stack of folded papers on top of it.

He ignored the curious looks on the people before he stopped in a near distance to the Senate building before he turns and takes a sight at the spectators watching him.

"Friends! Come and see what I offer for today's great morning!" He imbues his excitement into his smile and voice, waving his hands towards him.

Many of the crowd went closer as they couldn't help but be attracted to the energy the more Octavian called for attention of those curious of what he plans to do this time.

"Welcome! Welcome!" He greets all of them with the same energy, before taking a more inquisitive look at the crowd. "Friends, I have brought you a great service no one in Rome has ever seen!

Ever tired of being left in the dark by the Senate? Tired of being unable to pursue knowledge and its spreading without a backer? Tired of being unable to share your opinions before the Prudecharists (Some laughed) and Moderates aligned to their cause backhands you like a common wench? Be tired no longer! I brought you the most accurate news in Rome today!" He says with his voice and words hand in hand to make the greatest effect with emotions as the bridge.

"How do we know what you say is true?" One of the crowd called out with skepticism.

"My Dear Patron! Have a look at what I have brought today!" Octavian smiled while grabbing a bundle from the pile and threw it to where the voice was called out from.

A hand grabs the bundle, before revealing a woman (que gasps of shock from the men who didn't expect a literate woman to actually be able to read) that began looking through it with the same voice of skepticism from earlier.

"New Prime Minister will be announced today at noon.." She read through the front title as she unfolded the paper, revealing one with multiple pages with the very top having the name 'The Times New Roman'. "No way is Machiavelli going to retire!"

"What?!"

"Can't Be!"

And just to add more precedence (and ignoring the smirk on Ottorus' face as the senate doors open to reveal a group of senators, and the King himself).

"My Friends! What the paper says is true!" Octavian gestures towards the proceedings as a podium was placed in front of the group, with Machiavelli going upon it..

"In seeing the growing prosperity with the end of the War, I present to you the New Prime Minister.."

Without the group from the senate knowing, Octavian began counting out the bundles before looking back to see a more information-hungry crowd, showing that yes, what he had stated and the accuracy of information was in fact true.

"You, Ma'am! Will have the first edition of my 'Newspaper' (name made up on the spot) for free! Each one now costs a cheap but reasonable amount of coin." He called out to the crowd, happy that he can finally connect information together under his lead..

Speaking of it, he should start buying another space and begin his enterprise there..but for now he'll make do with hidden journalists and more hirings to gain accurate information.

Of course, some drawings he felt included in the wooden blocks amuse him to entertain those who are bored after a hard day's work.

N/A: I feel like @Magoose became a bit terrified as I was silent for a few days on the thread..

Look out Senator Travioli, Octavian has developed a Newspaper :D

If Anyone wonders, the First Newspaper was published by the Romans apparently.
