Guys.

Why are we not making a third Wright? The time it takes to make one will be made up by the extra 8 hours gained within the same action and then we have 24 hour crafting moving forward.
Because first priority is getting everyone equipped with Amulets of PfE. Also, the wrights are only necessary with a massive bulk of crafting materials which we currently don't have.

I agree it's a good idea and that we should eventually do it, it's just that now's not the time.

You misunderstand me, if the third Wright is created by Wright 1 it will then have the ability to craft itself and Wright 1 will now be free leaving 16 hours a day crafting from that point forward instead of the original 8 capable by Wright 1 itself.

E.g. basically if it would have taken 4 days to craft other things we can take the first two off to craft the Wright and then in the next two days you have the equivalent of 4 days crafting losing you no time but gaining you a Wright.

@Diomedon, just to see if I read your vote correctly, you are comitting to a Weirwood, but not actually scheduling any prerequisite activities. I assume you want to do it next month?

I would like to reiterate how much of a pointless danger it is to keep the things around for that long. Check up with Yss I'm all ok with, but if they are still viable sacrifices I'm strongly in favor of milking some boons out of them right now.

Well, that's fair. Snipping a single day off of laws to ensure they're not waiting around all month, and moving the Xorn up a bit (to fall in the middle of Laws Prep) so we don't overspend on the knife seems reasonable.

I need to look into the minutiae of Goldfish's request as well, and then I'll update my plan.

First priority as in how we use our funds. If I recall correctly, Dedicated Wrights cost around 800 IM to make. We could make two Amulets of PfE with that money (with Molten Skies prices).

Still don't get why we can't have a Wright working on non-party gear to sell for profit if this is our issue.

Even curiosities that let the wealthy change their hair colour etc should make us good money, sell a petticoat of endure elements so they can wear their garish crap in hot and humid weather and we make an absolute fortune.

The wrights are going to be idle most of our time. During that time, we can use them to craft magic items to resell.

I just don't get it. Am I literally the only person here who cares about Lya learning any of the spells we bought for her? Some of those spells, such as Keep Watch, are stupidly useful. Keep Watch increases a character's effective time by +50%.

:jackiechan:

Hmm, I don't think it's been heavily discussed. I suspect lack of secure market that wouldn't necessitate Viserys personally selling them is the main reason.

I'm editing my plan. Un momento, pour favor.

I'm actually intrigued and willing to pursue the idea since we've got a ton of lucrative projects in the oven right now that are due to deliver. Do you have any specific items in mind that we could sell?

I'm thinking a 1/day Ring of Prestidigitation would be popular among nobles, with the wealthier ones buying 3/day versions.

[X] Diomedan

@Goldfish I agree we need to get her studying those. My initial thought upon reading the actions was that Lya would be locked in her room studying all month.

@Duesal why aren't we putting this tree in Westhaven again? I'm all for continuing to get sacrifices and do another on SD and one for each of the other islands. But if we do this one, with these sacrifices, here it will have more meaning to the people in the same way that sacrificing the Damphair did to the people of SD. These people have been ravaged at home, they are vulnerable and scared; which is why we were able to take over so easy. By putting up the villains who attacked and executing them in front of their eyes we will cement our image in their minds as their protector and savior as well as the enforcer of laws.

It's the same as the ring of sustenance, DP hasn't confirmed that we will get more time so it's basically vaporware.

Get confirmation and do you really think people won't vote for extra time?

Alternate compromise plan incoming.

@Goldfish, calm your tits. After rereading what the Light of Creation does, I'm grudingly admitting that it's not that great. Still getting an ulcer from ignoring it further.

Yeah, I don't think we should sell them Prestidigitation because it's way too useful, but items and rings based on it certainly

E.g. A ring of spice.

A ring of grooming, straightens clothing etc.

Undercoat of endure elements so the nobles can wear anything anywhere.

Unseen Servant effect on items, e.g. a decanter that pours itself.

The idea is to go with the style behind core DnD items, use a limited effect of the spell to achieve one outcome instead of giving the full suite of possibilities, this gives us more sale opportunity and a greater product range while limiting the effectiveness of potential enemies etc.

Cantrips can be used to spy, a self pouring decanter can't.

It's not even a question of where we want to put it, it's a question of whether or not we can do it. The only reason we're putting off the tree at all is because right now we don't have the ability to make the sacrifice.

There are two main limiters:

1. We need to confirm that the Maenads' spirits are still inside the polymorphed animals. If they're not and we end up accidentally sacrificing innocent NPCs, not only will our party be upset with us but the Day of Blood will backlash at us for providing insufficient HD, and then we'll be stuck within 100 feet of the tree until we feed it some more.

2. IIRC the main caster has to be the one to carve the face, and IIRC magical buffs aren't allowed when deciding for that. Unfortunately, we've long-since retrained our woodworking skillpoint. Fortunately, I've been talking to DP about this and he told me he'd let us get around this by having Lya upgrade our +5 woodworking tool to +10 for around 750 IM.

I actually wouldn't complain if the Heart Tree was grown in Westhaven. It would be nice and thematic. Once again we conquer an island and grow a weirwood with the sacrifice of the monsters that terrorized the inhabitants. But right now we're kind of stuck. :(

That's just one spell among many; Mage's Private Sanctum no-sells enemy Scrying, Slow cripples an entire group of enemies, Lesser Sphere of Invulnerability needs no justification, Manyjaws offers no saving throw and does Force damage, True Casting is a 1st level version of Assay Spell Resistance that can't be cast as a Swift Action, and then there's Celerity(!!!). We have 32 freaking spells and haven't learned a single damned one of them in a month.

:jackiechan:

I think Lya has learned Mage's Private Sanctum at least. We had her do so as part of our store Stannis precautions.

--[X] When the Wights are idle, let them make minor trinkets for resale on SD's market.
-[X] Sacrifice Turtles /Yss - Vee

-[X] Identify: Standard - Glyra
-[X] Send ships
--[X] Send a small galleon on a trade mission to Sunspear.
--[X] Send a small galleon on a trade mission to Gulltown, then White Harbor.
--[X] Send a small galleon on a trade mission to Pentos, then Myr.
--[X] For all three galleons, have Lya check in with them using Whispering Sands in the late afternoon/early evening. When they reach their destination, scry on their captains and teleport over to establish them as destinations for the future (have Ser Richard and Vee take a 10 minute break to accompany Viserys there and back again). The ships to Westeros should fly a Tyroshi flag, and the ship to Pentos/Myr should fly a Braavosi flag.

Changes:
- dropped LoC in favor of spell learning
- dropped Garins Child to get more room for other things, it's not like he needs to get that task done right this second
- have Dany beat religion into the Minotaurs while Richard beats platemail training into them
- told the Wights to stay busy and make a quick buck with minor items (which ultimately is fuel for Lyas Mad Science budget)

And I can totally cook up a basic religion for the minotaurs right this second. It wouldn't even offend Yss since they wouldn't venerate Dany and Viserys as gods (yet).
More like Dragon Pope and Dragon Popess, as it should be.

Planned obsolescence, I like it.

I hope for the love of god that we decurse the Valyrian armor this month. I feel like its... taunting me...

MPS I don't believe works the way others in the thread have said, I think it's like the anti-divination room in that you can't see into it but plans made inside and acted on outside should not be protected. We already have an anti-divination room.

I like the spell but we normally prep at SD and TP nova so it's not necessary in the field right now.

The rest are nice but it's Lya learning them. If Viserys was learning Manyjaws I might care but giving Lya more attack options just doesn't excite me much at all.
