That the maneads may or may not be innocent victims is pure meta information and I really detest acting on those.

How is it meta information? Viserys knows they were humans that turned into Maenads. He heard the same riddle we did, that they didn't merely transform and hide, but were no longer on the plane at all. He's encountered both regular transformation as well as possession. It's not OOC for him to go "Maybe it was a possession type, instead of a transformation type?"

If we have to wait until next month to get all preperations in place for a second ritual, we might as well fetch some fresh squid to fuel the tree.

Do the Xorn first and buy the materials-->Use one day of crafting with those two Wrights-->Viserys does the ritual

We can perfectly fit this into the schedule. We don't have to finish the laws first.

Our schedule for Viserys is full unless we luck out and manage a few of his tasks on below average time.
Something we suck at.

The ritual takes one day?
That tree is strictly nice to have. I'm not going to gamble on procastinating on laws yet again for it.
It also makes no sense to stay in Westhaven to keep the peace when we bugger off to MS at the first opportunity.

Lastly, I greatly like the legend we can build from writing our laws while in Westhaven and directly after the Night of Madness.
It's important to wrap these little things in myth and pathos to get the ball truly rolling.

Due to recent disagreement, I have stolen most of Azel's plan, and made minor alterations. Namely, I'm confirming the sacrifices, and sacrificing the CR 13 Maenad to Yss as discussed, leaving the other 4 Maenads for tree #2, and sending out ships to save Viserys days (not teleporting is so last year).

[X] Plan Visiting The World plus Ships and Weirwoods
-[X] Laws / A Code of Laws - Viserys
-[X] Lich / Voice of a Dead Dragon - Viserys
-[X] Xorn / Gratitude carved in stone - Viserys, Dany, Richard, Xor
-[X] Zherys / The offering that binds - Viserys, Dany, Vee, Richard, Garin, Lya
-[X] Garins Child / A Child of Unique Circumstances - Dany, Lya
-[X] Train Minotaurs (Armor) - Richard
-[X]Study Spells (Keep Watch, Celerity, False Life, Lesser Globe of Invulnerability, Manyjaws) - Lya
-[X] Power of the Soul - Lya
-[X] Crafting by Wight: 3x Amulet of PfE (missing money paid from treasury)
-[X] Sacrifice Turtles/The Gods of Earth, Stone, and Tree/Yss - Vee, Viserys, Dany, Vee, Lya - confirm with Yss that our baleful polymorph prevented the Maenads from escaping the way the others did. If so, sacrifice the leader Manead to him. Sacrifice the rest to plant a new Weirwood.
-[X] Memory Harvesting - Vee, Tyene
-[X] Yss / Servants of the Serpent: Waymar
-[X] Visit Mantarys / Journey to the East: Mantarys - Xor
--[X] Learn from Yreal
--[X] Take the Elysium Apple along to figure out what we could do we with it
-[X] Scout Tyrosh / Journey to the East: Tyrosh - Maelor, Glyra
--[X] Try to get a feel for the city and maybe make som unofficial aquaintances among the lower rungs of society or the local fey
-[X] Identify: VS Armor - Maelor
-[X] Identify: Standard - Glyra
-[X] Send a small galleon on a trade mission to Sunspear.
-[X] Send a small galleon on a trade mission to Gulltown, then White Harbor.
-[X] Send a small galleon on a trade mission to Pentos, then Myr.
-[X] For all three galleons, have Lya check in with them using Whispering Sands in the late afternoon/early evening. When they reach their destination, scry on their captains and teleport over to establish them as destinations for the future (have Ser Richard and Vee take a 10 minute break to accompany Viserys there and back again). The ships to Westeros should fly a Tyroshi flag, and the ship to Pentos/Myr should fly a Braavosi flag.

Alright. Plan.

@DragonParadox, I took the liberty to give every action a shorthand again, but added the flavour names behind to avoid confusion.

[X] Plan Visiting The World and Beyond
-[X] Laws / A Code of Laws - Viserys
-[X] Lich / Voice of a Dead Dragon - Viserys
-[X] Xorn / Gratitude carved in stone - Viserys, Dany, Richard, Xor
// added Xor here to mooch some XP if possible
// also makes a lovely mess whenever Xor and the Xorn interact :V
-[X] Zherys / The offering that binds - Viserys, Dany, Vee, Richard, Garin, Lya
-[X] Garins Child / A Child of Unique Circumstances - Dany, Lya
-[X] Train Minotaurs (Armor) - Richard
// had nothing to fill up his days and I think we all where a bit sad when we couldn't wrap the minotaurs in platemail
-[X] Soul & Fire Lore / Power of the Soul & Lore of Fire - Lya, start with Soul and get started on Fire if the time permits
-[X] Crafting by Wight: 3x Amulet of PfE (missing money paid from treasury)
-[X] Sacrifice Turtules / The Gods of Earth, Stone, and Tree - Vee, sacrifice the transformed Maneads from Westhaven, preferably for crafting materials
// leaving this open for now so that the Tree-Factions can argue their case in isolation and peace
-[X] Memory Harvesting - Vee, Tyene
-[X] Yss / Servants of the Serpent: Waymar
// oddly enough I think that his judgement of the whole matter would be the most useful
-[X] Visit Mantarys / Journey to the East: Mantarys - Xor
--[X] Learn from Yreal
--[X] Take the Elysium Apple along to figure out what we could do we with it
// Xor is a Wizard and can thus learn just fine from them and has the added bonus of being such a lovable Good scamp
-[X] Scout Tyrosh / Journey to the East: Tyrosh - Maelor, Glyra
--[X] Try to get a feel for the city and maybe make som unofficial aquaintances among the lower rungs of society or the local fey
// a former street urchin and Glyra are just perfect for this, only downside is that they can't take Garin along who would also fit nicely
// also finally gets those two out of the tower again for a bit
-[X] Identify: VS Armor - Maelor
-[X] Identify: Standard - Glyra

Schedule:

Thoughts?

I thought we kept Xor off the Elemental Planes because they are even more squicked out by Aberrations than normal mortals? Or was that the Fey?

Before any time is devoted to Zherys, we need to use Commune. With those 11 questions, we can easily work out what he intends, at least in general terms. The questions below are preliminary versions of what we could ask, but should take a great deal of the mystery out of the encounter, and no matter what, leaves us 5 to 6 more questions we can ask. Not bad for the price of 100 XP.

1) Does he intend to bind us magically?
-a) If Yes, will Zherys cast the spell himself?
--b) If No to the spell, will he use an enchanted object?
---c) If No to the object, will he have another cast the spell?
----d) And if No to the proxy spell, will he use the supernatural abilities of a creature?

2) If No to the first question, ask if he will attempt to bind us politically?
-a) If Yes, is it through marriage?
--b) If No to marriage, will it be through oaths of fealty?
---c) If No to fealty, will he attempt to integrate us into the Volantine power structure?
----d) If Yes to political integration, will he be our subordinate?

3) If No to magical or political binding, will he attempt to use threats to control our actions?
-a) If Yes, will these threats be against our loved ones?
--b) If No to threatened loved ones, will he threaten our physical holdings?
---c) If No to threatening our domain, will he threaten our allies?

What about the CR 13 super Maenad? Are we no longer feeding it to Yss?

I'm puzzled by assigning Waymar to the []Servants of the Serpent option, but don't really care enough to protest it.

Lya has 30+ spell scrolls she needs to learn. I realize we can't set the whole month aside for them, but we should be able to prioritize 5 or 6 of the most important, if not more. The Keep Watch spell alone would let multiple people forego the need for sleep entirely, so long as they weren't doing any vigorous activity; perfect for administrative tasks, research, etc. That should give us at least a few extra days as bonus time. Garin having a kid is nice and all, but we don't have to dump a ton of time into it right now. Same goes for the lore books. Shave some time off both and we can squeeze some really important spells in.

All the spells we spent a metric fuckton of currency on said:
-[X] Arcane Eye(3rd level, 375 gold)
-[X] Alarm(1st level, 25 gold)
-[X] Blur(2nd level, 150 gold)
-[X] Celerity(4th level, 700 gold)

... So if we really aren't going to grow a new weirwood, can we at least just ask for extra spell slots for the regular Maenads while asking for something special for the CR 13 Maenad?

Or you could vote for me, if you still want a new weirwood. *shrugs*

Thanks. :)

[X] Diomedon

I don't really see a problem in keeping them in one place in the anti-divination chamber. If we're really paranoid we can just have Tyene double or triple curse every single one, only to be removed if it turns out the Maenads actually left the bodies.

[X] Azel

More spell slots sound awesome, especially given that we were running low in Westhaven. Can we get stat boosts from them too? Or did that have some horrible sode effect?

I won't be too put out if we don't get a new Weirwood. I'm just happy we got sacrifices in general. If we make a sacrifice we finally get to talk to Bloodraven again.

That being said, @Azel, can you add to your vote to have Dany contact the tritons for a joint raid on the Sahuagin/Deep Ones? We'll be able to collect a lot more sacrifices with their help, and they'll likely arrive next turn or the turn after (which gives us enough time to get the tool upgrade complete). And there's also trade with them to consider... Deep sea treasures in exchange for obsidian weapons. Oh, and I think we wanted to build a temple to the Merling King as well, but couldn't exactly get started because tritons with higher authority needed to be here? We could get all this started by contacting them and asking them to come.

You've said it yourself, they are already coming on their own.

I'm not entirely sure what you want to ask them.

if the old gods dont pay up for the turtleads, we need to remind them that Yss always pays in cash. auction our sacrifices.
edit: and now i imagined them as a cross between charlie's angels and TMNT. i am a sick sick person.

@Azel I just looked at the Light of Creation lore. While useful, it is absolutely not worth postponing Lya learning a good portion of the spells we bought her, if not most of them. She will never be in a position where she needs to make a Diplomacy check with Fire-type Outsiders, and the discount on Calling Outsiders is similarly limited. Worth learning eventually, but not at the expense of valuable spell knowledge.

Just specifying that we'd like to go on another Deep One raid with them and have them be prepared. They might get more warriors from more tribes if we give them the time to prepare. They believe they're just coming to Sorcerer's Deep to trade and maybe build a temple. If we want them to bring their best warriors too we should probably let them know.

That being said, it's not crucial that this happen now. I can always push for Dany to cast a Sending in a later vote.

@Diomedon @Azel My vote goes to the first one of you who reorders Lya's schedule to ignore the Light of Creation and remove some of the days dedicated to Garin's baby in favor of learning a good portion of the spells we bought her.

That represented a massive expenditure of resources and it's ridiculous that we haven't even bothered to have Lya learn a single one of them.

Ooh. It occurs to me that with the Tritons we can kill four birds with one stone. :)

1. Trade with them
2. Build the temple to the Merling King with them
3. Raid the Sahuagin for sacrifices with their help
4. With them and the Velaryons at your side (and some sacrifices ready but not used) use the gem to contact the daughter of the Merling King and ask how best to reforge the bond between her father and House Velaryon. Also just talk to her in general I guess. After that use the sacrifices kept in reserve to reestablish the link between the Velaryons and the Merling King.

That would certainly motivate her, but at the same time I don't want to promise her anything we'd want to give to the party members.

Other party members*.
Be nice to Glyra.

Needs Viserys for someone with both high Religion and Nature.

Upside is that we won't have too many problems due to five auxiliary casters giving +2 each.

And familiars, let's not forget the lessons of the Shadow Tower.

Edit:

Let's do it with just the Velayron daughter if we can, she's much more accepting of magic, agreeably subservient, owes us directly for her life and is deep within our sphere of control plus I'd much rather answer for her actions if necessary than her father's.

@Diomedon, just to see if I read your vote correctly, you are comitting to a Weirwood, but not actually scheduling any prerequisite activities. I assume you want to do it next month?

I would like to reiterate how much of a pointless danger it is to keep the things around for that long. Check up with Yss I'm all ok with, but if they are still viable sacrifices I'm strongly in favor of milking some boons out of them right now.

There is nothing stopping Lya from using both at once if she needs to craft something in a hurry. They can work back to back getting around the 8 hours a day enchanting limit.

Guys.

Why are we not making a third Wright?

The time it takes to make one will be made up by the extra 8 hours gained within the same action and then we have 24 hour crafting moving forward.
