Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

If we don't use it then we basically bleed our hand to the reds if they detect us.

He's not strictly part of the fortress as I understand it. We made a separate god to embody that.

What I was talking about was that the original plan was to put him through the wheel, this is why we brought him to Sanctuary and the reason the portal exists. The trade off was getting him back to 100% immediately in exchange for the complications of an unexpected breach.

The trick is that anything we reincarnate becomes a creature of darkness due to our touch, and Malko being a land god means this would have impacted his domain. Which we now know to be Amazonia as a whole.

This new replacement mechanism seems to drop that and his instant recovery in favor of whatever happens when he finished eating the vamps.

I don't think we have any depictions of him to go by, but historically speaking supernaturals seem to think he's a snack.
*cackles madly and high fives*
Love that so much, thank you, that made my day<3

Thank you, I've been really struggling for time and that always seemed to get pushed to the back of the cue when it came to this thread.
No problem been loving the quest and I had a minute I decided to just go ahead and hit it.

Yeah I missed False Springs Beckon on accident I had the spoiler tab on there but I hadn't filled it out so it was blank so here it is so you can just copy it into kakuri category right there at the bottom. Just needs a bracket to be filled out.

[SPOILER="False Springs Beckon ●●●"
The Infernal offers reprieve from the torments of existence. This is a trap, but one her foes may willingly step into.

System: The Infernal needs merely extend a hand for her target to understand that she offers relief from some ongoing source of misery. The Infernal may deliberately choose the sort of relief she offers, or may simply offer relief from whatever most torments the target. Examples of valid torments include the pain (and associated wound penalties) of injuries or chronic health conditions; a vampire's Clan weakness; a super natural being's susceptibility to frenzy; a derangement of the mind; the drawbacks of a demon's Torment; an ongoing curse laid by a magician; or anything else the Storyteller feels is in line with the above examples.

If the target accepts the Infernal's offer, she may sanctify the pact by spending 1 Essence. The target immediately ceases to suffer from the relevant torment. This reprieve lasts until for a number of weeks equal to the Infernal's Essence rating, or until the target refuses to do anything the Infernal tells him to do, whichever comes first. In no case does this Charm actually fix the problem – the target is still wounded, cursed, or deranged – it merely alleviates the symptoms for a while.

  • [X] Plan Quetzalcoatl
-[X] Combine ATP and BMI to hide your presence, then use flight to bypass the wards
-[X] Stunt: With a thought, you twist the perceptions of the world and all its creatures, your already disguised features shift dramatically as you appear to shrink so rapidly a witness might even think you had imploded for an instant, but then the process is complete and you are revealed in all of your glory.
--[X] Your illusory form is quite striking, with pale green scales that have an opalescent sheen and a pair of feathered wings that carry a riot of bright colors in their plumage. To anyone who gazes upon you now without the gift of a Wizard's Sight, assuming they could overcome your enforced anonymity, they would see one of the fabled Feathered Serpents, a creature out of myth. That your illusory form is perhaps no longer than your forearm and its wingspan twice that at most just makes it that much cuter.
    [X] Plan Stop Hitting Yourself
    -[X] Apply ATP
-[X] Take the appearance of Arianna Ortega using BMI
-[X] Use flight to bypass the wards (Small risk of later exposure)

-[X] Use RVD to get to the top floor of the building, then get to the roof
-[X] Fly down from the roof close to the windows, so from afar it looks like you repelled using a rope

[X] Walk in under ATP (Medium risk of a fight with vampires which might endanger the people you are trying to reach)

So, again still catching up. I noticed some discussions about taking Sandblast charm or tinkering up a gun, but I am seeing none of that in the char sheet. Did we never take any ranged combat options?

Arc 15 Post 37: Pact Maker New
Pact Maker

9th of March 2007 A.D.

If there are any people pointing cameras up this way by chance boy are they going to be surprised when they see a face that belongs in a Western, being as that is the first way it occurred to you to tie back a cloth mask after flowing upwards through the pipe into a bathroom two stories up. Who knew tying bed-sheets together to make rope would come in handy as well, but it's cheaper than flying and you might need the essence right about now. You kick your way in through the open window to the sight of four people scattered around the room.

Lost 1 Essence -> Now at 17/18 (ATP)

Two of them are obvious bodyguards by the distinctly gun-shaped protrusions in their jackets and earphones so they can talk hands off. The woman nearer to the window seems to be an assistant, at least that is what you hope she is, not being dressed very professionally between the plunging neckline and the nails that are either a safety hazard or a secondary weapon while the final occupant sits almost slumped over a desk the blue glare of the monitor seeming to deepen the circles under his eyes and make his complexion seem sallow. He could be any age from forty to sixty, from the files you happen to know he's thirty seven. There's more than years that can age a man and service to the Red Court has more than its share of such.

A closer look confirms your suspicions, both the bodyguards and the woman are vampires, full ones here to guard their investor and if the senator's beyond guarding remove him before he can make trouble.

Lost 1 Essence -> Now at 16/18 (Hellscry)

Sauntering past the vampires 'too polite' to notice you tap the man on the shoulder. Sure it gives him a bit of a jump scare, but it's not like you want him comfortable. Being complacent to the horrors his patrons are causing is part of the problem. Unsure if he speaks English you stay silent and as Clippy projects a synthesized version of your voice speaking Spanish.

"A good night to make a deal." His eyes jump to his minders, but you place a finger to your lips as the prerecorded message keeps playing. "They are not aware of me as you were not before I accessed you directly Mr. Herrera. I can remove them if you prefer, though that is perhaps best left to the conclusion of the meeting."

"The meeting..." He sounds out faintly.

"To discuss how you are going to be parting ways with the Red Court." Truth be told you're not sure you have the heart to just kill him the same way you would the vampires if this goes poorly, but he happens to jump to conclusions you're not planning to correct them for a while.

Fear wars with hope behind his eyes, only to be drowned out by the familiar shadow of obsession as he whispers: "I can't. I need them. I need it!"

"No, you do not," you answer lightly meandering away from the desk and into the path of one of the vampires who is forced to, squeeze past you, even as he cannot register your presence. "Serve me and you shall not feel the bite of the addiction."

Sometimes the best ways to impress is speaking, sometimes it is silence and letting that which is unsaid sway the other to your side and you can see if working now, the wheels spinning faster and faster. Most people are good and wouldn't want to expose their fellow man to the horror that is the Red Court, that you firmly believe, but even those who care nothing of others wouldn't want to be at the mercy of something that explicitly drinks human blood while a human being.

"W...who are you?" The desperation, the desperate hope in those words is almost palpable.

Lost 1 Essence -> Now at 15/18 (Intimidation Excellency)

[] A magical head of state, after all one of the things you want from the local officials is a land deed to the territory the gate is on

[] An enemy of the Red Court, that is all he and others in his position really need to know

[] Write in

OOC: Yes, Molly does look like some kind of surreal horror movie monster, but that is just what rolling 13 Successes on intimidation while under the (to him) visibile effects of ATP looks like. Also since she was already under ATP I reasoned that she might as well actually climb down the side of the building and save some essence that she can use to confirm who's a vampire.

No need to overshare here.

[X] An enemy of the Red Court, that is all he and others in his position really need to know

[x] A magical head of state, after all one of the things you want from the local officials is a land deed to the territory the gate is on

Since the red Court already knows there doesn't seem like much point in keeping it secret.

OK I remembered that you can divide things by fractional numbers ( ) so this is what between half and what one third looks like

E3: End of this Arc
E4: 215
E5: 461
E6/Elder: 952

I think we should go with this, not adding Circle XP since that would scale strangely as you get more circle mates. Sound fair?
So if we're going by total XP spent we're at 441 at this moment so by this particular calculation if it changed I would appreciate someone tell me we're probably going to hit E5 by the end of this Arc.

There's no reason for the patsies of the red Court to know that we're the head of a magical State also it means nothing to them as a whole and directly tells anyone who they might be in contact with Who We Are. There's just no reason to and opposing justification to tell them anything beyond what they need to know.

Molly really tends to bring her A-game whenever we use intimidation, doesn't she?

For the moment I am going to vote this:
[X] An enemy of the Red Court, that is all he and others in his position really need to know

Though, is this one of the guy we would have to talk to to obtain territory in a legal way, @DragonParadox?
