I will say that as much as I dislike Cole as a person (albiet season 2 makes him a rather interesting figure, helps that his actor is great) he's not that petty. He spiraled into the mess he was in later canon because he had a mental crisis over breaking his oaths and blamed it all on Rhaenyra. This Cole, he takes serious issue with Rhaenyra being a warrior but he's not having a mental breakdown over it.
Yet.

We'll fix that soon enough. /j

Arguing against Syrax- it seems to me that's an option for if we don't want to talk to anyone else, but don't want to just ignore it.

I'd argue there's a distinct difference between not saying anything and talking through something with a being who can't really communicate. Now naturally talking with Syrax and talking with the others do have pretty different effects and implications.

Giant Therapy Lizard

Though I think people discount Syrax too easily. They are called Dragon Dreams for a reason. Our bond to Syrax has a strong supernatural component and most Targ visions involve dragons in some capacity.
Yea but it seems to be largely Harrenhall that triggered whatever it was, which I'm not even sure can be called a Dragon Dream, so there's a chance Syrax might only help us talk about it.
