We must be even more careful now. That which lies ahead has not yet been written...

I understand wanting to spend an action on speaking with Johanna, but why spend an action on speaking with Alicent rather then with our personal trainer in Tarly or with the Hand of the King in Otto? Judging from last time talking with Tarly makes our training actions more effective, while the iron is hot with Otto to try to establish ourselves as his preferred choice for the succession. What's pressing about talking with Alicent right now over either of those two?

Because our personal relationship with Alicent is important too and the revelation of her talks with Viserys / the now all but revealed plotting by Otto is something important we need to talk over with her.

Plus, we can more effectively try to bring Otto on our side next turn when we both got a solidified relation with Alicent and have a good idea what the new court situation will be through talking with Viserys or Johanna.

I personally just want Rhaenyra to talk to her friend and hopefully get her to talk about what lesd her to comfort Viserys so Rhaenyra can be a little more wary of Otto and understand his more self serving nature.

And it comforts her friend, and pushes them closer so that one day we can be in lesbians with her if our husband ends up being a total tool.

However! I think we have a great opportunity with Otto right now. Now that he has failed to wed his daughter to the king he doesn't have an immediate dog in any would be succession, either for the Westerlings or for us. It may behoove us to try to throw an action at him from time to time to try to get him inside our camp. As Hand of the King and a very astute politician he would be a good ally to have and a bad enemy to have in case the Westerlings win him over.

Agreed, but not this turn. Also, why are you spending a talk action on Tarly? We've already talked a lot with him, and I think we'd be better off spending that talk elsewhere.

I suppose training ourselves gets priority over training Syrax because the best thing we could possibly do on dragonback against Daemon's and the Velaryons' dragons is fly the hell away as swiftly as possible?

That and we spent an action on Training Syrax already, plus we need skill at arms earlier if we plan to do anything martial on our tour.

Also, we could probably take Seasmoke if we had too.

Boremund is alive, his son is unmarried at the moment.

Okay, Borros just established himself as the #2 on the list of potential husbands. Considering only power, position, etc. We'll see how well he does when we meet him in person.

Otto was literally schemeing before the ashes were cold. Pushing for Rhaenyra as heir while basically shoving his daughter at Viserys that same night.

Yeah... he's probably not happy about us messing that up, but then again he gave us no reason to think he was behind it, so rationally he can't reject us. Plus he is even more dependent on Alicent's relationship with Rhaenyra for soft power beyond Viserys. Bring her along on our tour, and maybe she finds a good match. (Just watch, we end up with Borros marrying Alicent).

No Train action, we cannot keep putting that off if we intend to become a knight.

Because we just spent an action talking with Otto. Additionally I see no benefit from talking with Tarly. We are Training with him, there is no need to do both. We are talking with Alicent because she might end up our lover, and if she does then a marriage to Laenor is likely to work out with our goals.

Perhaps we talk to Otto next turn after giving him time to cool down about the failure of his plot and let the realization sink in that Alicent's relationship with us is now his path to soft power.

We probably should train with our dragon as well at some point. One person fighting on foot however skilled can't do that much, one skilled dragon however can make a massive difference.

Fair enough if so. I was mostly talking about other, particularly political, motivations since personally at least I don't care for the idea of romancing Alicent.

I don't like either making our training less effective or losing out on a chance to try to get Otto to start working for us for the sake of advancing Alicent as a love interest, but to each his own.

I feel like the road trip will be a good moment to train with Syrax since we will be in different regions and have a bit more variety of terrain to work with. We can comfortably train while on the road and it certainly doesn't hurt to have a dragon announce our presence to the local lords to remind them why they kneel before us.

I would avoid treating training with Syrax as one and done sort of thing since increasing your bond and Syrax's skill is useful.

There is something deeply funny about Otto's plans being completely derailed by someone who didn't even know he was scheming.

Btw we have to marry Laenor eventually - cuz if we didn't and Daemon still marries Laena like in Canon, we're gonna be cooked in terms of balance of dragonriders against the Velaryons.

Bonus point is that Rhaenyra and Laenor can be each other's beards if we get with Alicent

I just hope we don't end up alienating him due to us becoming the reason his daughter can't marry a politically beneficial match, or any match, since she became our paramour.

In that regard I suspect if we met him now he might try to introduce us to Gwayne, though I doubt he'd push for marriage immediately much as he didn't with Viserys. It's perhaps not a coincidence that Gwayne is back in the city now that Otto's attempt to marry Alicent to Viserys has failed.

Btw we have to marry Laenor eventually - cuz if we didn't and Daemon still marries Laena like in Canon, we're gonna be cooked in terms of balance of dragonriders against the Velaryons.

By far the most important thing we can do in terms of draconic balance of power, better then even marrying Laenor, is ensure our children manage to mount the larger dragons like Silverwing, Vermithor and Dreamfyre.

Which is the problem with Laenor. There's considerable reason to think he might not be able to give us any kids, hence I'd only be in favor of marrying Laenor if we met him and were able to confirm with him that however he might not care for it, should we be married, he will be willing to spend the time with us to give us at least three children.
