Really part of problem with Daemon is that even if he doesn't want to threaten Viserys, his actions do undermine the public perception of him.

But I really don't think it would be a good idea to send him out on a military campaign when Rhaenyra is setting herself up in a very martial manner. If he succeeds then he gets a military accomplishment all the while he likely will carry resentment for being ordered to do so.

I have half a mind to propose a military campaign and to just up and join him "to keep him out of trouble".

That would be one way to keep him in arm's reach (not arms-length, that implies keeping him at a distance rather than close).
It would also be an option that gets us some glory and a chance to do the unthinkable and patch our relationship with him.

The irksome thing is that Daemon would be really useful to have on our side if they guy wasn't a chaotic gremlin.

The conversation with Otto has really driven home some of the deterioration of Rhaenyra's relationship with Daemon, but I think that places her at muddled and confused now, not wholeheartedly agreeing to his danger to her family. After all, tentatively reaching out with Visenya-lore turned into a genuine heart-to-heart with Viserys, and at this point OTL without reaching out Rhaenyra was kinda halfway convinced he didn't truly love her or her mother Aemma, with some of the same conflicted turmoil as I imagine for the noncommittal option.
I really do like that we went with Visenya reborn so I could avoid having to deal with Daemon's grooming of Rhaenyra and instead focus on what an absolute germlin man he is and how a Rhaenyra who doesn't idolize the man would view that.

[X] [Defiant] The disdain of men has never held you back before, you will not let it bother you now.

[X] Write-In:
Responsibility has not worked, nor can he truly be trusted to govern, so too will a distant posting be considered tantamount to exile. Perhaps a military campaign to settle his humors and allow him to excise his ardor. Recommend that Daemon be sent to subjugate the Valean Mountain Tribes or the Stepstones.

No one has asked, so I'm not really sure, but is the [Defiant] part a hint to acquiring a new trait or just the general tone with which we say that sentence?

[X] About the Lords: [Defiant] If you were a man, they would praise you for the very same things that they now wag their tongues about and you will not settle for their mere acceptance just to have your memory tainted by their slander like Visenya. The bards will sing of a warrior queen and your name will live long after your detractors have been forgotten. You will make sure of that.

Giving Daemon a military campaign will just add to his reputation and legitimacy! I had more in mind that we take part in one, or a tourney, or anything that gives us reputation. Letting Daemon have extra reputation surely is a bad idea.

Do we mind him having that?

The way I see it Daemon is likely to be our fiercest enemy if Viserys never marries again, because Daemon would be next in line to the throne after us in that case, but if Viserys remarries, Daemon well be one of the more potent allies we could have. It just seems a bit soon to settle on a course of action with him right now.

[X] Agree. Daemon was plotting something and he cannot be allowed to return to the city.

[X] To Otto: Agree that something should be done, but not that exile is the right option. Daemon can plot and gather power in Runestone just as well as in Kings Landing. Maybe even easier.

I will say that the odds of Viserys not remarrying are remote but don't assume Daemon will be your friend if Viserys remarries.

That's fair. What I'm saying is that I think Daemon is guaranteed to be our enemy if Viserys never remarries. If Viserys does however, then I don't think it's as sure we'd have to fight him. Daemon wants, what? To feel important? To have his bloodline on the throne? To reduce Andal cultural influence on the Iron Throne? A bethrothal with one of our kids and one of his along with a seat on the small council could achieve that if need be.

"What does Daemon want?" is one of those questions that could be answered in a sentence or in a small research paper. Daemon wants many things, some of them rather contradictory.

Well, starting a war doesn't seem like a good idea, and I don't want to imply to Otto that Daemon is conspiring against us...

So here is my write in, I would like to point out that Daemon is and will always be an immature troublemaker, but sending him away is a terrible idea for that same reason, better to keep him close to minimize his shenanigans

[X] Agree in part, but disagree with his solution. Daemon wouldn't betray your father despite how much of an immature troublemaker and a pain in the side for anyone on the court, BUT you would rather keep him at arm's length in King's Landing, where we can use a measure of control over him to minimize the trouble that his sheneigans will inevitably cause.

[X] You will prove them wrong and that you are worthy of the throne.
