Yeah, that i can agree with. Dropping Eike in Lothern is gucci. Trying to bring her to the actual Elfcation just seems like a way to get rid of apprentice we don´t actually like.
By the time we get back Eike would have ended up getting a reputation as a translator for the merchants wanting to deal with the elves and making a lot of strong contacts with wealthy merchants.

In Awe of Mathilde: Every story Eike grew up hearing about Mathilde has convinced her to make the most of the opportunity to learn from her directly. This will be replaced by one of Mathilde's traits at some point during her Apprenticeship.
We need to get rid of Disdain for Sigmar or Eike could turn into a delinquent who smokes cigarettes and hangs out with Ulricans.

regarding eonir tourism, should we like. be issuing travel advisories on known dangerous locations? these ARE some pretty insular people we're unleashing on the world, and we do have some amount of cachet on things from outside.
something like
"The Elwyn House Research Group has issued travel advisories for the Drakwald region of the Empire and the eastern regions of Bretonnia, as local hazards have shown signs of recent buildup to metastatic levels and are expected to erupt in violence within the year. Travellers are advised to stay in groups and maintain some amount of skill at arms for their own safety, should they elect to travel to these areas."

@Boney assuming no living thing passes through the entrance how long does it take the entrance of a liminal realm to close?

Just being up front here since I know you dislike leading questions for some unmentioned idea, I am trying to find a use case for liminal realms and it occurred to me that while a bolthole is not as good as a Bag of Holding for looting purposes as long as you can close it in good time it might serve decently well. Taking for instance our looting of necro-Hogwarts the problem with just coming back for the rest of the stuff was that the peasants of the nearby settlement would loot the place long before that could happen, but if we could have stashed the stuff in a liminal realm, even briefly in a place random peasants cannot find that would have solved the problem. It's not like it would have been very likely one of them was a daemonologist.

This is not a perfect solution mind it would not have helped for Kurgan looting, indeed any looting where we cannot come back for more, still if it could be done that would be one use.

It takes days for it to heal over, but if you put the entrance somewhere weird, it might go unnoticed for long enough to heal.

EDIT: Remove accidental doublepost
Anyway, @Boney would a social to talk to Baba Niedzwenka about her adventures in suppressing rebellion (aka gleefully taking a chance to fuck up people she hates) be possible? She seems surprisingly willing to work with/for Boris, and I'd like to see if she'd be willing to talk about it.

Added:

[ ] Niedzwenka
Ask Baba Niedzwenka how she feels about the new Tzar, and about the political landscape of Kislev in general.
@Boney besides the canal opening and Boris's coronation, are any of these time-sensitive to the point of disappearing next turn if not taken now?

The exact context might change, but none of them are time-sensitive.

Do orcs have orkish colour theory?

The greenskins of Warhammer are more culturally fragmented than the Orks of 40k. There'd certainly be associations that'd have mythological tie-ins, but apart from 'Green Is Best' there's probably not anything universal, and even that is challenged by the existence of Black Orcs who believe themselves to be superior.

...So, there's one thing I'm not too clear on: Is the "Enchantment (Collegiate)" option for the storage mechanism component something that has to be Hysh-only, based on the thing Egrimm mentioned about such cantrips which lightly repulse Dhar?

No, it's just the general option of using College-made enchantments to store the magics, which is a very well-trod path. The exact details of the various options would be spelled out if/when the thread votes to make a Waystone and there's a subvote for what components to use.

Hmm...we could write a travel guide. We know Eltharin and have +10 The Empire, so we should have a pretty big amount of Empire travel guides to draw from. Be a decent way to make money. Could also advertise Sylvania as a good spot for adventure tourism, give hopelessly bored Eonir nobility the chance to hunt something properly novel, like the undead.

....advertise The Silver Road as a good spot for a mercenary group to get some action

[x] Swordplay
[x] The Black Water Canal
[x] Eonir Tourism
[x] Tzar Boris Bokha
[x] Okri

[x] Niedzwenka

Reminder that if you vote again, that overwrites your previous vote so you'd ONLY be voting for that one thing. Editing it in to an old vote should be fine though.

There's an idea, we could just put it 60 ft off the ground or something and it would be out of reach of anything that cannot fly. Sure we'd have to do some fancy flying with the Gyro to climb down into it later (or just bring Hubert) but it should put the bolt hole out of reach of most things. Or does the entrance have to be at ground level?

The entrance can be anywhere, but it has to be where the Vitae was while you were squeezing it, which is going to be in the tens of minutes even if you practice because if you ramp up the pressure too quick it detonates.

I have a feeling that 'eonir tourism' well look very much look like 'currency tourism' like Spain in the 80s. With the city Eonir.

Where the 'kind of' wealthy at home will be able to spend like 'the very wealthy' while in the empire.

So not very convenient to do in the open in most cases, hiding it is. Still that is a potential use case, it does not take that much space (hence that much Vitae) to hide a few shelves of books/some dragon bones, much less something like gold which is defined by being low volume for value.

I dunno, there's something to be said for the image of Teclis walking in with a beaming paternal smile, getting one look at the horrifying papier-mache monstrosity we've clunked together out of spare parts and recoiling in horror.
It is Teclis we are talking about. The guy whose reaction to the abomination of an embassy in Altdorf was to laugh and enchant it indestructible, so that it would offend the sensibilities of his fellow elves forevermore. I don't think his reaction here would be different.

I'm wondering if it'll be worth it to assemble multiple waystone prototypes next turn, each one using a different set of components? I assume each one will cost an entire AP by itself, so three waystone prototypes=three AP, but it might be worth to knock out as many variations—and to test as many components—as possible.

The we can simply take the components that work the best and assemble them into a "mk2" waystone.

Possible combinations:

Dwarf Waystone:
-Capstone: Runic Inductor
-Rune: Carving/Dwarven
-Storage: Material/Runes
-Orbital Mechanism: Dwarven Clockwork
-Leyline: Riverine - Jade

Eonir Waystone:
-Capstone: Stone Flower
-Rune: Carving/Eonir
-Storage: Material/Material + Collegiate Enchantment
-Orbital Mechanism: Grey Lord Enchantment
-Leyline: Riverine - Spirit

Collegiate Waystone:
-Capstone: Collegiate Fascis
-Rune: Carving/Collegiate
-Storage: Material + Collegiate Enchantment
-Orbital Mechanism: Dwarven Clockwork
-Leyline: Riverine - Jade

Jolly Cooperation Waystone:
-Capstone: Runic Inductor
-Rune: Carving
-Storage: Material + Collegiate Enchantment
-Orbital Mechanism: Grey Lord Enchantment
-Leyline: Riverine - Hedgewise

Also we need more leyline options, so we should probably poke that again in the near future. And we must not forget that House Tindomiel has first dibs on waystone construction contracts in Laurelorn and the Empire, so the final design should have an element they can produce (although the rune falls into that category, and fits with their right to make religious dedications on the waystones as well, so it's not super important I guess).
