This isn't true. The Pavel Society is explicitly anti Vampire, and they know their shit.
Okay, to clarify, what I mean is, "do they know enough about vampire magical methodology to be able to deduce details about the precise magical techniques a vampire does and does not know, or does and does not use, to the point where they could screen effectively for, for instance, the presence or absence of dhar in a corpse?"

You need to put an x in brackets for the plan if you want to vote.
I was pointing out to you where the leading matrix plan states it will be done in a public place. Am I being trolled right now?
No, we want to leave evidence. No evidence is bad, or at least suboptimal. Boris wants to point this at the Lahmians.
That's a direct quote from Boris:
Do it as quietly as possible, leaving no evidence.

[X] Nighttime Visit

This is not something to play around on getting fancy.

Really think many of you are overlooking "blaming the Lahmians". Who is blamed is the realm of politics. No evidence means the blame rests on whomever the people in charge say it rests on.

Given that thy are the rough equivalent of Witch Hunters (who have extensive knowledge of chaos rituals that we've made use of), but centered on vampires? I'd say they'd have a good idea, minus windsight. They know what looks magical, what doesn't, what weird tings are specific to them, etc.

[X] Plan: Spontaneous Heart Attack

The delay seems like it will make the whole plot less risky , if something goes wrong, and the way he dies should give Boris more to work with.

There's a Temple of Morr in Kislev City.
"Theft and Death", the sidebar on top of page 42 of Realm of the Ice Queen covers how the closest thing to Morr worship in most of Kislev is an Oblast folk figure called 'Misery'.

The portion about Kislev City does state that, contrary to the rest of the country, Morr is actually well-regarded in the city, so fair enough there.

I expect they probably have more limited political power than in the Empire though. Especially given that most Kislevite practices with the deceased are very far from Morrite standard (for example, warriors are generally treated by sending them off into the Oblast riding their horse).

That's a direct quote from Boris:
He kinda contradicted himself.

He takes a moment to gather himself. "I would have liked him to have a proper end against foes of Kislev, but there is a better way now. Do it as quietly as possible, leaving no evidence. If the way you do it could only have been done with magic, that is good."

The first bolded sentence contradicts the second one, because if we really leave no evidence, it will be impossible to deduce whether the killing was done by magic or not. So if he just keels over in some way indistinguishable from a mundane heart attack, Boris is going to be hard pressed to say "VAMPIRES DID IT" without people giving him side-eye. Primary objective fulfilled, secondary objective compromised.

I'm pretty sure what Boris meant was:

1) "Leave no evidence that a Grey Wizard did it, and especially none pointing to me" and
2) "Leave evidence suggesting that a Lahmian is the most obvious likely suspect." and
3) "Leave evidence suggesting, furthermore, that the Lahmian was at least trying to be subtle."

If Vladimir dies of a heart attack in public, we succeed at the first but not the second and third. If he dies of a heart attack in a locked room, we still succeed at the first but not the second and third- the Lahmian is, so to speak, being so subtle that the fictional Lahmian assassin succeeds in deflecting suspicion.

If he dies of two small puncture wounds in his jugular vein in a locked room and the killer vanishes without visible means of egress, we succed at the first and the second conditions, but not the third.

If he dies of two small puncture wounds in his neck in a locked room, then the killer slashes at his neck in an attempt to conceal this fact and then vanishes without visible means of egress, then we succeed in all three.

Yeah, I think what he meant was "Leave no mundane evidence in such a way that it's clear it could only be accomplished through magical means." I was just pointing out that the original poster was directly quoting the chapter, not implying I think our secondary objective doesn't exist.
Because the spell should leave any external wound. It will look like the Tsar suddenly clutched his chest in pain before keeling over death. Aka a spontaneous heart attack.
I understand that, but I don't think "The Tzar had a heart attack in front of everyone that was later revealed to be all his insides spontaneously being eviscerated" is particularly something a Lahmian would do. Nor is it very quiet.

Actually what the hell, I'll make my own plan if I like to complain so much. I originally liked the Matrix idea because I thought it was quiet, risk free, and obviously magical. I thought it would look something like this:

[X] Plan: Nighttime Heart Attack
-[X] Sneak into the Tzar's room, use mockery of death on him then implant him with a Matrix loaded with Shadow Dagger loaded. Set the matrix off immediately, so he dies in bed.

And:

[X] Plan Nighttime Dart Attack

[X] The Locked Room Murder: Too perfect version

[X] Conspicuous Exfiltration: After securing a kill during a nighttime visit, leave a trail of sightings and evidence that points to a Lahmian trying, and failing, to move subtly and cover her tracks.

Eh, I've come around. If we stick around for a while to plant a Matrix, well, there's a reason they call it the Witching Hour.

[X] Plan: Spontaneous Heart Attack

"How, specifically, should such a thing be done?"

He takes a moment to gather himself. "I would have liked him to have a proper end against foes of Kislev, but there is a better way now."
Huh, is this implying Vladimir's canon death fighting goblins would have still been an assasination, like some members of the thread theorized?

[X] Nighttime Visit

I don't think we need to micromanage this one, I trust Mathilde to use the tools in her arsenal in line with the requirements given. The simpler the plan is, the less chance of things not going to plan.

If a Lahmian is in the Tzar's chambers while he sleeps, they've basically already won. There would be absolutely no need to resort to magic to kill him, unless they weren't trying to be subtle.

Using magic to get to that point, like forcing the guards to sleep, is a more plausible failure.

[X]Plan: Remote Controlled 'Miscast' Killing
-[X] The night before a hunt, sneak into the Tzar's bed chamber, keep him asleep using Mockery of Death, apply MMM containing Shadow Dagger.
-[X] During the hunt, trigger MMM, causing the King to suddenly die. Ideally time this for a time when he is actually in a small bit of danger that is normal to a hunt, like getting ready to spear a boar.
