There is also the fact that Abjorn has the Silhouette hugreida which sort of perpetually casts him in shadow probably helps with the auto self repair function of the armor.

AN: Apologies if this one is a bit sub-par or if the prose is overly purple, I had a bit of a weird day today and that may have bled through

It's great man, I really enjoyed it.

Also I found this hilarious for some reason:
Mingling with the rest of the felag goes about as well as you can expect it to after your father reminded everyone of his status and strength. People clamored to be around you, your status as Steinarr's daughter improving their status simply by proxy.

Also this kinda made something "click" for me which hadn't before.

Me: "Huh, that's odd, Halla does not get insulted nearly as much as I'd expect for being a woman in the male-dominated world of warriors."

Steinarr: LOOMS OMINOUSLY IN THE BACKGROUND

No fucking wonder they don't insult Halla for being a girl lmao

Hmmm, fair point. I feel like there's potentially enough of a gap between us and Tryggr/Trausti that we could be towards the middle, but fair enough.

Well, by the Valley Rankings, there are 23 people in weight classes above us, then 13 in our weight class (and I think we're towards the bottom of said weight class, since we only got into it very recently). Tryggr and Trausti are the next weight class down, along with Folkmarr which I think means our weight class (Lower Top) is the lowest one invited on this expedition. So...we might be above some of the other people in our own weight class, but even if we were near the top of it, we'd still be in the bottom third of people invited.

Abjorn doesn't hurt either, among people our own age or thereabouts. But yeah...Steinarr's existence is definitely a strong moderating force on any overt insults to us of any sort.

I wonder what Sten thinks of Shadeclaw/Sagaseeker. He hasn't seen our realized weapon and armor yet.

I'm very tempted to social him and find out, but our schedule is packed. For, like, the rest of the year.

Next turn we need to talk to Gabriel and go on the Trade Expedition. After that, we need to clear the Underhouse and visit the battlefield in the Hading (not on the same turn). We also need to talk to the dwarves to buy materials to make gifts for all three of our huskarls, then actually make said gifts (well, our gift for Stigmar may be reforging his armor, depending, but that's still an action). We also still have a bunch of gear we need to make in there for ourselves before the Vestfold Trip (conservatively, I think we need to reforge Ashen Kiss and a sword to match it, reforge our armor, and make helms for both ourselves and Abjorn), plus we wanted to talk to Halfdan and we want at least one playdate with the kids (I'm thinking more like two).

We are swamped. Now, that's not a long term problem, as a lot of those are one and done and we'll never need to do again (Abjorn does not need a second helmet and we only need to clear the Underhouse), but it's a bit hectic in the short term.

Is Realized Weapon and Armor inherently obvious, like would people who look at Sagaseeker or Shadeclaw nod and go 'yeah that's Realized alright', or does it 'just' look like fantastically good weapons/armor (ala T8 equipment)?

I suspect it depends. Sten would know, I think, and Hooknails probably would as well...less perceptive or knowledgeable people? Maybe not.

I don't think reforging Ashen Kiss or making another sword for ourselves is needed, that's pretty much just bonus dice, and at a poor rate compared to spending actions, but Helms are nice. Fully kitting out our Huskarls would be good, too. I would want to spar with Stigmar (probably with Stigr added on) to get his measure and preferred fighting style before making armor for him.

Does Halfdan have children of the 3~6 age range?

And the fact that Halla kicks ass and has a high Dreng score.

Sounds reasonable, but would have the disadvantage of needing to spend an ap and multiple updates on the spar itself.

It's one action for, like, +8 dice since we can make them as a pair and dice are not meaningless. We can also infuse some Odr and get more extra Orthstirr, and put some good Runes on both of them (Crowfeeder's runes, among others so we can actually use Sharpen with out backup weapons)...having an actual real backup for Sagaseeker is worth one action, I think. We likely stop improving our weapons after that, but it's worth doing.

I mean, Stigmar has mail and uses it. Improving its quality drastically seems like a solid gift for him regardless of his fighting style.

Does Halfdan have children of the 3~6 age range?

He does not. He seems to be a widower.

Yeah, but if we know his style we can better fit the boneash, soak material (most likely blood), and runes.

We can't rune up Mail under normal circumstances, only if Realizing it. And I don't think we're Realizing our gifts, just making Wondrous stuff. And there are good generic options for bone ash and quenching on armor. Like, bear bone ash plus using Hearthroot Oil is gonna be very solid for anyone.

I think quenching material imbues the item with the qualities of the quenching material. Fire Oil made Shadeclaw have it's properties, and blood would make an item an extension of whoever it is that donated the blood (a rather niche capability).

Wait, so since Shadeclaw has Abjorns DR, does that mean when something hits him they first have to get past Shadesclaw DR, then do enough damage to penetrate, then get past *Abjorns* DR? Because that's absolutely hilarious if so.

The testweapon we made with our own blood was easier to use for us and harder for the kids.
That sounds like generic "weapon weapons better" boost. Could be the same for armor, like "all stats a bit higher" for the one whose blood was used, inverse for everyone else.
Unless we expect firebased enemies or for them to be in Hallas AoE splashzone, blood could be better.

Abjorn's Armor (Armorcraft: 6x2, 5x5, 4x6, 3x2, 2x1-1, 1x3-3)22+15+3=40 Successes. Runes (Artcraft: 6x3, 5x6, 4x3, 3x3, 2x4-4, 1x1-1)24+15+3=42 Successes. Decoration (Artcraft: 6x6, 5x3, 4x3, 3x3, 2x2-1, 1x3-3)23+15+3=41
Looks like Abjorn's help gives a +3 to crafting rolls! Or Saemd/Virthing/Frami burns gives +3 to all rolls, both are great stuff.

I could be wrong, but Armorcraft would be 8d6(Hugr)+5d6(Armorcraft)+8d6(Forgefire) = 21d6 dicepool, right? We seems to have rolled 19d6 here. Artcraft would be 8d6 (Hugr) +6d6(Artcraft)+8d6(Forgefire) = 22d6 dicepool? We're rolling 20d6 here.

Gabriel Quests reaction to Norse Armor would be hilarious. Just fifty years down the line he encounter the red haired warriors with steely grey eyes kitted out in blatant knock-off knightly armor. And Gabriel would know deep down that this was all his fault.

Abjorn has officially reached the point where no amount of unbuffed mortals can kill him. Good for him

I mean, he was already there, I think. Halla is there too when using shapeshifts, and there vs any reasonable number of enemies already.

The testweapon we made with our own blood was easier to use for us and harder for the kids.

Blood keeps them from every passing it along to their kids. That makes it a bad gift, I think. It's fine for a commission or for ourselves, but giving something as a gift with huge downsides is poor form, I think.

Forgefire is only 6d6.

We literally can't beat Abjorn now without Boulderbombing or FTB'ing now, he's so damn tough. And with Silhoutte he could heal midcombat too.

Sparkbomb hits for 15, so we could get him with that in theory once we have better delivery methods for it at range.
