[X] Muna: That Black Fire (Adds a slight anti-magic effect to your fire hugareida)
So Halla opened Gabriel's gate and put Odr through?
Come to think of it, we should probably teach Drifa at least the basics of the Stoker State. It sure would suck to go all through childhood without knowing your family's secret technique.

I mean Steinarr has presumably had it for longer and he only got around to mentioning it after we demonstrated the FTBThat's fair, though I suspect Sten is handling it. We did get the heartbeat thing when fighting him, so he's almost certainly got it, it just wasn't listed on his sheet for OOC reasons.
Maybe when we get better at Stoker State. 2 dice is simply not enough to be confident in winning a Contested Movement reliably, and there are also potential issues vs opponents with high DR.totally couldn't happen to us right

Does anyone have any opinion on trying to create a Stoker State - Contested Movement loop? Pretty much all we need to do is Master or even Perfect Contested Movement.

What's the most insane/wtf/or otherwise holy shit moment that's happened so far in NorseQuest?
I really love FTB to be honest. What's the most insane/wtf/or otherwise hypest moment that's happened so far in NorseQuest?

If we go for an Attack Speed based build, making a lot of attacks, we could semi-reliably stack up Stoker Dice for Contested Movement, especially if we outspeed our enemies.I don't think Perfecting it is worth it since Mastering rounds down the cost when it halves and will drop the cost to 1 Orthstirr per usage, which seems low enough IMO. But in the long run it's probably worth it to Master Contested Movement for this purpose, yeah.
In the short run, swarms of weaker foes (who this is best against) are not something we're likely to fight in the immediate future and I'd prioritize Stoker State 5 and getting our stats up (I'd like to hit Hamr 8, Hugr 8, Fylgja 7 before we head to Vestfold, which seems doable).
To be clear, the tactic works somewhat against near-equals as well, but they don't make enough attacks that we need the discount on Contested Movement to use it on them, and we likely need to spend Orthstirr on the counterattacks anyway if they're to be effective.

Plus, Contested Movement can function as a pseudo-perfect defence even against Puncture, making it absolutely brutal in melee. It also provides us with an ablative protection against Folded attacks and also if we run out of defence actions.
Perfecting also has narrative effects, which seem like they would be pretty cool given how Contested works.
Does Contested-Movement get around stuff like Sword Guard? because if it does then that solves one bog weakness of the basic attack spam style.
Threaded Elephant fight wins most hype for sure. What's the most insane/wtf/or otherwise hypest moment that's happened so far in NorseQuest?
The odds on contested movement with only two stoked dice is pretty good against non-berserks.
Against one with 7 Hamr we win more than 95 percent of the time and against a 9 hamr non berserk we still win 75% of the time. These are still rookie numbers, and we shouldn't risk it against the hamr 9 guy but the next stage of Stoker State should make those numbers look very nice.
I'm wondering if in next gen we should create a contested movement trick for stoker state?
Theoretically it's less about slowing the opponent down like we do with standstill and speeding ourselves up to oppose someone else. Another side benefit is that being a stoker state trick we don't have to spend all our stoker die to fuel the trick.I dunno if that's viable. We can try, though, it'd be nice if we could and the heartbeat thing means it might be just within the thematic sphere...
I think that some kind of Blade Lock trick might be available somewhere. No garuntee that it would also be a hugr check though.I dunno if that's viable. We can try, though, it'd be nice if we could and the heartbeat thing means it might be just within the thematic sphere...

Gabrielquest is referring to Tricks as a concept instead of Prayers huh? Truly they are being assimilated thusly.A couple 'Journal Entries' relating to Halla's eyetalking conversation and also that she's going to pry sooner or later. Couple trick ideas.
