@Imperial Fister you tease! All those options are so GOOOOD! Anti-magic on our most used Hugr would be great.
But
[X] Journal Entry: Norsely Armor? Nordic Armor? Hmm...
Up-armoring would be useful for our survivability and could be develped into a family thing.

You and Gabriel sit side-by-side on a snowbank, after you fixed up his wounds, of course. It was no simple task — as he had a collapsed lung, about a dozen broken ribs, and many damaged blood vessels — but you managed it regardless. The fact that, as a Christian, the magic had a harder time slipping in and doing its work certainly didn't help the matter, but it wasn't much more than a stumbling block for you.
(Beneficial) Seidr works on Christians, including True Cultivators!

...Okay, when Halla opened Gabriel's Gate to use Seidr, did Odr go through, or was it Zeal?
I thought the zeal that Jerasmus had so generously offered
Zeal can be given away to others. Can the same be done with Odr*? Is this the mechanism by which Pages et al start cultivating? Is Zeal transferal something anyone can do, or are Priests the Christian equivalent of a 'Jarl'?

*Well, we know it can be done. But can you give it to your friends without murdering them? Do you need to be a Jarl to do so?

........Would this work as a workaround to the 'Must Own a Farm' clause? A Single Odr cultivator opens the gate, gains the wealth of Odr, then later shares Odr with his friends and family?
"As for how I cultivate... Well, I'm not sure how much I should or can tell you, so I'll just say that it involves a temple and leave it at that."
Opinion on telling Gabriel (or Jerasmus) details about True Norse Cultivation: Rapidly decreasing.

I'd imagine you can if they're already a True Cultivator and thus have a place ready made to store it.

The final wording didn't promise we would, so yeah, if he's not willing to reciprocate...

This is far more unique than an anitmagic fire. It could also really boost Halla's defense even if it will be a long term project.

So, how was the spar as a whole?

Good! We obviously didn't want him to freak out like that, but the spar showed us a lot about how Knights and Squires work and fight and was very interesting and fun.

Also gave us another useful barometer for how badass Halla is. She can take a 4th Decade Chivalric Cultivator in a straight fight on roughly even terms...that's good to know.

By the way, did Gabriel get something Fun out of this too? @Imperial Fister ?

We're getting something Fun, either in a Sword upgrade, access to the "Plate Armor" research project, or Antimagic Fire, I'm curious what he's got on the table.

Hello, caught up with the quest! it kicks ass, and a lot of the the scenes with Halla and Abjorn are really emotionally effecting :)

She had to use a little bit of her own odr

A couple 'Journal Entries' relating to Halla's eyetalking conversation and also that she's going to pry sooner or later. Couple trick ideas.

Welcome to the party! And thank you!
Steinarr must be a terrible looming monster for Gabrielquest, a source of much argumentation and terror.
Yep!

I'm interested if Steinarr is actually the one he's most upset at. He's seemingly upset at the loss of his bonded companion or companions (mount and maybe hound or falcon), but from the interlude we saw, Steinarr was actually a bit busy killing Lord Hightower to do that. It's not impossible that he did it, but it seems perhaps slightly more plausible that it was someone else (who would still be someone from around here, mind you).

Like, he's clearly a terrifying presence, but is he the one Gabriel actually hates the most?

Yeah, that seems right. Gabriel's issues seem to predate Steinarr rolling in and Doing Norse Things. He was just hanging out and doing his own thing until Lord Hightower rolled in and started kicking ass, and if Steinarr killed his buddies, that would have actually been noted.

Which isn't to say that Steinarr rolling in and doing Steinarr Things helped, but it's more One More Cross to Bear rather than the core of Gabriel's issues.

Mechanically I like the fire upgrade the best. Story wise I would like the sword upgrade.

As for Gabriel, it must be hard being in love with the woman whose father killed your mentor/own father figure. And being shown that he seemingly hasn't improved since we last fought must really hurt as well.

Well, Gabriel did swear to help deal with the Steinby Curse. Presumably that would have been less likely if Steinarr actually killed his bond companions.

Of course if Gabriel's friends was killed, by, say, a Knight, in one of the many wars, we could totally go on a raid!

(This will surely not go wrong)

I think it's more "Gabriel was the victim of some Bullshit Feudal Snakepit" nonsense that got his Companions killed by someone he had zero recourse for, like a King or some other similar high nobility sort.

Explains why Lord Hightower basically browbeat Steinarr into taking Gabriel out of that environment--he might actually make something of himself there.

In fairness, Hightower had just accepted Gabriel as his squire when it happened, so it's not like they'd been together for years...and I think even Gabriel is aware that he's advanced a bunch. But yes, this is definitely still very rough on him. Poor guy.

No, per his side story his bonded companions were definitely killed in the raid Steinarr was part of (he refers to everything being lost in one afternoon). It just seemed from Steinarr's side story featuring that same raid that it must have been one of the other Norsemen on that raid who actually did it. That could be misleading, but it seems more likely that it was just someone else on the raid who did it.
