Sweet. We definitely want to grab Shoot, a Trick for shooting people, and start carrying a bolt-thrower in our Armory Pocket most of the time then. How many dice is that thing? I'd imagine not anywhere close to something like Sagaseeker, but it is a Dwarven design so it's probably at least on par with Good weapons, I'd think...so, like 3d or 4d?
We're obviously not doing that this turn before we even pick up Shoot 1, but it goes on the list.
[X] Plan Taking Revenge
-[X] Bring our normal combat gear loadout, plus the bottled light source we bought, all our explosive charms, other sources of light, digging tools, and plenty of rope.
-[X] In terms of people, bring Abjorn, Tryggr, Trausti, Gabriel, Stigr, and Stigmar.

Loose rocks echo as they bounce down through the yawning mouth of the sinkhole. The rocks tumble and crack as they fall, knocking yet more rocks free as they pass into the pool of pitch-black darkness at the bottom.
You share a brief moment with your companions, all eyes locked to the entrance to what could very well be one of the more foolhardy things you've done. Tryggr, as always, looks eager for adventure while Trausti simply sighs — his kenning of 'Pinchfinger' now more relevant than ever as he shakes his head at his brother's impatient antics. Abjorn, on the other hand, has something of a contemplative look on his face.
"Gabriel?" Your husband turns to his side, where the armor-clad Squire has his head bowed in prayer. "How big are troll-men?"
Gabriel tilts his head to the side — his face covered by the full-face helm. Iron-covered fingers clink against his faceplate as he thinks. He looks Abjorn up and down, his barely visible eyes lingering on Abjorn's prodigious height.
He doesn't have to say anything as each of the Giant-Blooded realize the problem at the same time.
"Aw shit." Tryggr's the first to voice it, though, as he makes his displeasure known. His broad shoulders slumping forward as he sighs curses at the heavens. "We're not gonna fit in the tunnels, dammit!"
That... is a problem. A problem that you're going to have to resolve, one way or another.
[ ] Proceed as planned... just without Abjorn and the twins.
-[ ] (Optional) Scramble around for replacements (RNG if anyone is available, Silver-Tongue to convince them)
[ ] Call it off, you'll have to find a different way of getting even. (Postpones Troll-men Reprisal)

AN: The reason I didn't mention the height problem until now is because I didn't think of it until now. If I had, I absolutely would have said something.
I've also taken the liberty of just maxing out your combat pool from the get-go, if that's alright?
No moratorium, chance for a second update. Chance rapidly rises the quicker a majority is reached

This is probably okay, even without replacements, but only 4 of us is a tad low on numbers. I'm thinking we want more people if they're readily available.
For combat scenarios? Yeah, definitely. We'd probably also have Hugr, Fylgja, Tactics, Command, Composure, Wildcraft, and Scouting maxed out. And Silver-Tongue for the upcoming roll involving that.

We are not gonna get an earth or stone hugreida anytime soon and expanding it by hand would take too long, not to mention blow the surprise...
But going in as a team of 4 instead of a team of 7, when 4 fight focused people were needed to get a chance to save the farmhand and the kids....
Sure, we would't have to protect anything aside from each other, but lets be honest, we ARE going into both unfamiliar terrain and enemies outnumbering us at least 10 to 1... and, well, as much as i like them Stig and stigmar will have endurance issues.
But... we could go to the dwarves and have our payment be assistance in the clearance? not fighting, necessarily, but widening the tunel so the giant-blooded members of our party can enter and spread destruction on the trollman...

I mean, Imperial did explicitly say that the Trollmen won't be too big of a problem for us. Anything from Myrkheim can't exactly pose a threat to us either, due to the bottled sunlight we have. The only real problems we have are the rock worms, and the crab-rat things that we nothing about. I think it's worth the risk to be honest.

Yeah.... i know i am cautious (read: Paranoid) but this just feels like asking the dice to hit us in the chin.
Especially with how we rolled the last few mini turns.
And there is also the issue that of the 4 of us that are definitely going, only us and Gabriel can play as the tank.
now, the tunnels will limit how many of them can fight us at once, but the trollman will also know them better. And that's without the risk of collapsing the tunnel on us with a firebomb or kindle spinner, until we reach the nest.
As for the hazards like the rockworm or anything funny like traps, i am sure we can deal with them even without reinforcement, if they are separated, but we do not know what to expect, exactly. Not to mention they can also make any fight into a battle royal.
at least, the retreat should be guaranteed, what with Halla just throwing an IAT in the tunnel for side to side, but thats the only reason i am willing to even consider going in without Abjorn and the siblings.

For the record, Troll-Men are about as intelligent as stupid dogs, there aren't gonna be any traps in the physical sense. Ambushes, perhaps, but not actual traps...the terrain may be dangerous, but that's a somewhat different matter.
I mean, I guess theoretically if someone else made the traps there could be, but it's real unlikely.

As others have mentioned, the poetry that you folks create is in a nebulously canon state. It both is and isn't poetry that Halla has composed herself, by simple virtue of me not wanting to open the can of worms regarding what is and isn't canon.
Now, strictly speaking, since Halla's poetry is in Norse, while we're writing in English, it should all be composed by Gabriel as the most fluent one in English, indicating that he's becoming perhaps excessively immersed in Norse culture-
Though writing poetry from another character's perspective, in general, hmm.

Right then. So they've definitely replenished their numbers, and most definitely have way more trollmen than before.
On one hand - although they did manage to kill Stigr - Stigmar, Trausti and Tryggr still managed to hold them off despite having been taken by surprise. We're going in with Gabriel, who I'd rate above Stigr and Stigmar and on the same level as Trausti and Tryggr - possibly even higher than them since he's a third realm cultivator with knightly armour and everything - along with Stigr and Stigmar, who I imagine are much stronger than when then before, due to the whole draugr incident, training, etc. Finally, there's us. That's definitely a much stronger force than before.
However, if they've had a year all to themselves to breed, I imagine we'll be fighting way more trollmen then the ones that raided our farm. Especially since they took all of our animals. I think it's doable, probably, going off of what Imperial has said and our strength, but there's still a medium amount of risk.
