I mean, yeah, I'm in agreement with this. No point throwing our life in a futile effort to save Aki. That'll result in the death of two people, rather than one. It's sad, but it is what it is.
Quick thing about sailing; do we like stop when we reach the bridge, get on the bank, and then cross the bridge to the other bank? Or is there some other fuckery here.
Remind me did writing about Odr fail? If so should we bring stuff that allows us to record about Norse Cultivation?
Also If Ginnigugap is beyond the Enemy telling Abjorn about might be a good idea.
However there is a chance enities in the Gap will be able to hear the word and might react badly.

0~0~0 Setting Out
It's mid-day when you meet the Seeress on the wooden surface of the nearest bridge. She's a bit frumpy, like she hasn't had much sleep as of late. A leather sack full of various items sits slumped against the railing, the mouth opening just enough to give you a peek at bark.
"Good, you brought transportation." She nods as you wiggle the faering resting on your shoulder. "I spent last night in correspondence with the shapecrafter of Jurgdby, who has agreed to come out and grow a new body for your friend." She sips her tea, which doesn't seem to be helping all that much. "So that's nice."
"So..." You wiggle a finger at the bridge and the sack, "how does this whole thing work?"
She takes a long draught of tea before reaching into the bag and pulling out a cut off burl. It alone is about a third of the sack and with its departure the sack has fallen in on itself. "This is a burl, you can use them to warp from one bridge to another."
You frown. "So I didn't need a faering?"
"No, no you do." She brings the cup to her lips, only to find it empty. She scowls and rubs at her eyes. "You'll need the faering to go find and fish up your friend's soul, from the Gjoll."
You nod as things start to make sense. "So, I go to the Gjallarbru, talk to Modgudr, tell her that I'm not going to be crossing, just fishing, and then go fish up Aki's soul?"
"More or less, yes." The Seeress stares longingly at the bottom of her tea cup. "There will be Abysslings on the Ginnungagap side of the Gjoll, just waiting for you to get too close, and there will almost certainly be members of the Helshird waiting for you on the Niflheim side, likewise waiting for you."
'Helshird... that is the name that Hel's einherjar have taken for themselves, I believe.'
"I'm guessing I can't take an einheri, can I?" The Seeress snorts and Blackhand just laughs. "Didn't think so."
"Comedic breaks aside," the Seeress says as she retrieves a second burl from the sack and tosses it to you, "you'll need that burl to get back. Break the center while standing on a bridge and you'll warp back, I've already done all the preparations necessary to set the destination. Don't lose it or use it incorrectly, because you're only getting the one."
"Got it," you nod as she tosses the first your way as well, "break this one," you wiggle the first — having set the faering down to catch the burls, "to go and then this one," you wiggle the second, "to return. Right?"
She nods. "That is correct. Now, are you ready?"
You toss the second burl into the ship before taking a deep breath, "as I'll ever be."
"Ah, before you go!" You pause with teeth grinding, your fist nearly touching the burl as the Seeress hands over a small pair of soft, mossy balls. "Put these in your ears, the Gjoll is rather... loud."
You slowly nod, eyes narrowing as you carefully insert the, as the Seeress calls them, 'ear plugs' into your ears. Breathing in and out, you center yourself as best you can. When you've found it, you turn the burl into a bracelet.
Wood splinters fly every which way and your world turns rainbow.

The first sign that you're not in Midgard anymore is the constant sound of muffled screaming coming from just about everywhere around you.
Opening your eyes — when did you close them? — you find yourself staring at Gjallarbru's ceiling. Gold, silver, and hundreds upon thousands of multicolored gemstones glisten as the precious metals shine in the light of... something. Not the sun, as it's nowhere to be seen, but regardless.
Your eyes trace the gentle curve of Gjallarbru's roof and- (Hugr (Composure): 4x1, 3x1, 2x3, 1x7) 8 Failures Good Gods!
One moment, you were standing, the next, you were on your rear. The faering clatters down against the polished wood of the bridge as your eyes bulge from your head — your jaw dropping alongside the boat.
Standing at the other end of Gjallarbru, with her feet spread shoulder's width apart, is the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. Seriously, she's like if someone took Abjorn, dyed his hair red, and turned him into a woman!
Red hair is tied into a wide pony tail that easily reaches her waist. Thick, tree-trunk arms bulge with muscle as they cross over her ample chest as she stands there and watches you drool onto the floor. An iron mask hangs from her neck, a face not her own carved into it. She wears a shirt and pants with boots laced tight on her feet.
Her stature is grand enough for her head to nearly reach the lowest rafters, so tall that you come up to only a little over her knee!
"Can I help you, travelling kin?" Modgudr raises an eyebrow as you try to pick yourself off the floor. You fail, several times.
Eventually you climb to your feet, but as she keeps staring at you, you find yourself having lost the prepared plan.
What do you do?

AN: Halla got stunlocked by a pretty lady again, smh my head
Also, einherjar. I've decided that they're not just in Valhalla because Folkvangr doesn't have a fun name for their honored dead, as far as I'm aware.
Anyways, no moratorium as it is getting a bit late.
Should we ask her some stuff about our family while we're at it. The 'Divine' side I mean. Also definately ask if the Enemy can hear us in the Gap.
Edit:
[X] "Um wow hello you're pr- I mean um. Hail cousin! I've come to retrieve my bodily-dead friend from the Abyss! His fylgja died so he's probably having a bad time right now."
-[X] If the opportunity arises, also ask if the Enemy can notice us here or if we're safe to tell Aki about Odr.

(Hugr (Composure): 4, 2, 1, 4, 2) ...1 Failure. Halla, girl, come on. Get ahold of yourself!
You choke on your spit as the door opens.
When you think of a 'witch', you picture a gnarled old woman with warts and mushrooms growing all over her. So when she opened the door, you were not ready for her to look like that.
She's all curves and legs, with a head of gorgeous hair that can only be described as 'raven-like'.
She watches you, a single perfect eyebrow raised, as you gasp for air on her porch.
"Are you done?" She asks after a minute of this.
You nod, climbing to your feet. The heat's back in your cheeks, and its not just from choking.
Modgudr's identified us as "kin", which seems like a good sign. I think @CedeTheBees' plan looks pretty good!

I think even if we can't directly share info with Aki about Odr we can try to show him stuff indirectly. He has soulsight and when we first started cultivating Odr he was very confused/curious before the memory effect kicked in. If we can get him started I have no doubt Aki will provide a lot of insight.
Speaking about The Enemy and Odr are both extremely dangerous topics. How sure are we that Ymir The Enemy can't listen in in Ginnungagap? After all, he's dead. And Ginnunagagap is where the dead reside.
We also need a method to open the gate without the person being killed, still. Opening it in a home is only one half of the equation.
