And What a Dance it Was (NO SV, War is Coming, Prepare)

Currently Corlys the Sea Snake. That man holds sway over the court as he owns to the world, mainly because he is so fabulously rich that he can buy them off. As he learns, there is no problem that can't be solved with copious amounts of money.
What's our dad's relationship with Corlys? We know they sailed together once, but are they still friends or is it more like a ex-coworker type scenario?

Corlys thinks our father was a damn fine sailor and was very deflated to learn that the man did not wish to join his fleet when the adventures were done.

He respects him, but he is a bit mad that he did not join him. Especially after our father had much success as a merchant sailor.

Kinda being a hypocrite there isn't he. Considering how family oriented he is, you'd think he'd be understanding. How big is Grey Ghost by the way? Now that he's going to be taken care of and get enough to eat how big is he going to get?

Actually I think his growth is going to slow down now that he will be stabled in the Dragonpit. Dragons are said to never stop growing so long as they have food and space to roam so being stuck inside will actually hinder his growth more than if he remained wild.

That is supposing we let him be stabbled there instead of fishing for his own food. We have a good enough relationship with Gray Wind that we might understand he does not like to be constrained. And it is not yet decided we will stay at King's landing permanently.

Where you will be educated will be hotly contested and The Who and how will inevitably lead to how Grey Ghost will be raised.

Grey Ghost isn't huge but he is currently the size of the Blood Wyrm.

Who is about the size of a average passenger aircraft.

And that isn't that big compared to Vhagar and other dragons right now.

And before you ask: yes the old king will be an option to talk to while at court.

No we cannot prevent Baelons death.

Will you roll for additional births? Like Rhaenyra having a living little brother. Or us getting younger siblings.
Yes and no.

She may have a little brother that survives birth.

But there are forces at play that will try to make sure they do not live to majority.

As for us: yes.

So how many Dragonseeds will have to be beaten off with a stick by the dragonkeepers of Dragonstone?

Cause I see you are not including the Targaryen dragons in that list.

People aren't stupid enough to go into the dragon pit.

They don't want to die.

  • [X] Plan Riding with Mom
-[X]Bring your Mother: Your mother knows court, despite not being in it for years. You trust her to keep you safe. (Will remain as a new courtier at Dragonstone, and make herself available to serve the Prince)
-[X]Riding with the Prince on his Dragon: The Prince has offered to take you and your family to the Capital on his dragon, to give you the sensation of flying, and how you like it.
    [X] Plan: Fireworks
-[X]Bring Both: You want both your parents to come with you (DC: 40, The King is not going to like this at all)
-[X]By Your Father's Ship: Your Father hasn't been able to sail for a month, and it is only a few days' sail to the Capital.
[X] Bring your Father: Your Father has always had a knack for reading situations, and he is the strongest man you have ever known. Let him come. Perhaps the Red Keep needs to see a true captain again. He also will never let you leave his side. (If not chosen, he will be sailing east, to Pentos.)

[X]Go Alone: You will go alone, with Prince Baelon and his court. (Please note this is highly irregular, but it will make you friends, and enemies at court)
[X]With the Prince's Retinue: The Prince will be taking you and your family to the capital. He needs to make a show of this new… scenario.

The Old King's Court Part 1: Arrival

Riding with the Prince on his Dragon: The Prince has offered to take you and your family to the Capital on his dragon, to give you the sensation of flying, and how you like it.

Bringing your mother was always the option that was going to be the correct one in your mind. She had experience at court, and she was wonderfully prepared for the sudden movement of picking up her life and home and being prepared to start again, even for the moment. She had rented out your home for a few weeks to some traveling merchants, and some friends would make sure to collect.

However, she was not happy about the method of traveling to the Capital.

"Lucien, you asked to ride his dragon?" She asked as she looked at the large beast that was before her, saddled and waiting to be ridden by you, the Prince, and your mother.

You nodded, with a smile. You needed to have some sort of experience with riding a dragon, and While you wished to ride Grey Ghost himself, you also were not stupid. You did not have a saddle, Grey Ghost would not like to be poked, measured, and otherwise forced to suffer through that little important thing for a rider.

You had heard stories about those that tried to ride a dragon barebacked. They either ended with the rider surviving after a near impossible indescribable event… or they fell to their deaths, failing to hold on.

You were sure that there was some truth to those stories, but there was something that you did not put much stock into. As there were no deaths from a rider falling from the Dragon in the entire history of the Targaryen Family here in Westeros. But the fact that stories existed means that they happened, and happened enough to where they continued to be told.

So better be safe than sorry. Plus you needed to carry a little bit more things, and the Prince's saddle was capable to carry an extra bag.

Mother was not happy about it. "I've-" She then took a moment to shake her head. "Very well."

You then nodded smiled and walked towards the dragon, to mount up and fly.

Reaction (Mother):D100 => 71

It was impossible to describe the feeling of air in your hair, the whispers of the great air, and the roars of dragons flying.

But your mother did. "WOOOOO!" She screamed as Prince Baelon laughed, while you held on tight, trying your best to keep your grip on the saddle.

She was afraid yes, and as she screamed, she was being drowned out by the clouds and the dragons.

Yes, Dragons. Grey Ghost was following you, and despite its lack of a rider, it was flying in formation, following the elder dragon with distance and respect.

He knew what was going on, and knew you were on the other dragon and was trying to keep you safe, by staying close to you.

The ocean below moved with a speed that even a ship that sailed with full wind could not move as quickly as you did. You were above the world and the world itself moved below you. It was like you were

And when the hour passed… you could see the Rising Red Keep and the destination of this adventure. The Dragonpit.

There was always something to be said about the capital. The great dome of the Dragonpit, and the smoke that rose above from the dragons that slept and were cared for, even when they were kept in rather spacious cages… Yet cages they were.

As you landed, you saw several men with large sticks and staves, along with many younger men… speaking Valyrian, and they moved with grace and skills of herding dragons. It was strange…

As you dismounted, there were several dozen of these headers that were confused at the Grey Ghosts' appearance, and there was confusion among their ranks, as they wondered what to do, before Prince Baelon told them. "The young Dragonrider from Dragonstone is here, see that his dragon is cared for."

At that, they immediately took positions, and while Grey Ghost seemed.. .uneasy, he saw that you were safe, and the sensation on your neck seemed to lesson. He was… feeling you, feeling how you felt.

You were uncomfortable, but you were with your mother, and she was keeping you calm.

Even if her energy and enjoyment of the ride were seeping off her. "That was incredible." She said with a smile. "How do you not enjoy every moment of that?"

The Prince smiled. "Lots of practice and responsibility, and training. Being a dragon rider is not only constant care for the Realm but also for oneself. A Dragon is a beast yet, but it is more than that. Far more." He then looked at you. "Tell me, Lucien, how did you enjoy your first dragon ride?"

What do you say?:
[]Write in

You have arrived at King's Landing, what do you do?:

[]Immedeatly go to court: you need to get to court so that you can get this introduction out of the way, and so you can get to the court itself.

[]Spend time with the Dragonkeepers: The Dragon keepers are very interesting. Monks and the like were dedicated to caring for Dragons. It's quite interesting.

[]Get something to Eat: You are hungry, and you want to eat something.

[]Be with Grey Ghost: Grey Ghost is uncomfortable being around so many people, and he clearly does not wish to have so many people that will attend to him. You need to explain to him… if you can, that is necessary.

AN: Enjoy.

Well, that worked out well.

Im thinking saying we enjoyed dragon flying and we should probably reassue Grey Ghost.

[J] "That was dope as fuck Uncle Baelon, lets do a flyby of the kings quarters next time!"

Is joke but I like to think that Lucien still has a mischievous spark at heart, despite previous dragonlesque wisdom.

[X] "Lord Baelon, if all dragon riding is like that, than I think I will be sure to spend as much time doing so!"

Same principle but more in line with what i think he would actually say, and it might get us growing on Baelon (maybe we'll get to call him uncle before his untimely demise).

[X]Get something to Eat: You are hungry, and you want to eat something.

I smell a lover of boats is near, we must find him and befriend him at all costs and by any means necessary!
(He's either this way or at court, but the latter way lies the failures of my plan, and I am a cowardly and craven man at heart)

Edit: Grammer goofs.

Well if you must know, the Red Keep is kinda a no-fly zone. They got balistas up there as of this moment.

Not likely, but there is one thing that must be noted.

Baelon does not have time to have us as his Ward. So we will not be getting that much more from him, despite his presence in the first.

Hint: There are going to be choies on who will be our master... or if you are feeling spicy: Who will be our new liege lord as our father gains a new employer.

You would be wrong, its another person from the court that we can meet. A rather... High member of court some would say, who always spends time in the Hands tower.
