Now all I need is for Potions to look like they could be relevant to our project, and Mathilde will have a solid grounding in every available magical discipline!

...I might be waiting a bit longer on that one.
So you're saying all I have to do is add learning potion making to my hopless plans that try to recruit Hugo and I can increase the number of votes for them by an entire 50%! With three of us we'll be unstoppable.

[X] Plan Compromise + Verenans

its hit the point that if people stop approval voting for [ ] Plan Compromise, it might overtake it!

For the Nerd Knights!
(ok, to trade books with the nerd knights and hope we make some friends while we are at it... or at least open an option to do so later.)

[X] Plan Compromise
[X] Plan Compromise + Verenans

I don't actually mind since I'm pretty sure we'll do the other option next turn anyway.

But a 'real' library is something that is maintained, curated, navigable, and kept up to date, which is a lot of work.
How much leeway is in the free library action? Could we try to recruit We as an assistant librarian? There's someone who knows how to keep track of things right there x)

Also, while it's relatively fresh:
Asking the question is a way of gathering information that is subject to the observer effect, because by asking the question you change the situation you are seeking insight into, so Mathilde won't do it automatically and off-screen.
This was originally about Egrimm, but it made me think . . . we did mouth off quite a bit in front of Boris, and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would enjoy repeating himself. He gave us an extensive account of how he keeps score: More Kislev less Za. If we roll in after two years like "Eyyy bro wanna show us your blizzard-glowy magic rock and send an ice witch or three away from defending your stuff?" he might not end up quite as amused as we'd like.

However, we still have some bigger Dwarf favours stored up. Once they clear up the pass, all their craftsmen will be busy rebuilding Mount Silverspear, but for now we could probably scrounge up someone to help reinforce Praag (which coincidentally supports the land route to Karak Vlag) and maybe some smaller Troll border forts (if there are any left) and we'd get a much warmer welcome when we visit Boris again. Thoughts?

Finally . . . some men just want to watch the world burn:

[X] Plan Compromise
[X] Plan Stacking Advantages

It is worth keeping in mind that Boris is not the boss of the ice witches, I mean yes he is their secular liege, but they are a powerful magical order whose line as as old as his. I think he could have as hard a time forbidding them to be part of the project as the Emperor would forbidding the Cult of Sigmar, which is to say he can made cooperation hard if he really tries... but at the end of the day he is not the one we need to look to for contacts . I think we should seek out Ice Grandma if we want to go in that direction.

So it looks like the Verenans are going to take the vote and I don't know how to feel about it. On the one hand, I think that it's a bad idea. On the other hand, I am uncomfortable with the whole plan changing business, so maybe it's for the best that if original plan wins. And on the gripping hand, if the actions turns out well in end that's obviously good, and if it ends up being a wasted action I get to say I told you so, so in a way it's a win-win.

Technically speaking, I believe Boris is still heir, I don't think his father died yet?

Actually, I've just had a thought. Boney, if we recruit a gyrcopter pilot this turn (such as Adela), would that mean that they would be on hand to assist for any action this turn where we would be likely using the gyrocopter?

Specifically, I'm thinking of the Gryphon Wood and the Alric investigations—we'd probably use the gyrocopter to fly there and back for both of those. If Adela was our pilot, would we essentially have a "free" Bright journeywoman to assist us with those, assuming her assistance makes sense? I guess it depends on whether or not she can actually learn to pilot it in the same turn, but I don't see why she wouldn't be involved instead of just waiting in the 'copter as our getaway driver.

If there are situations that fit her skillset and ability level, yes.

[X] Plan Compromise

I'd like to hold off on the Verenans. Wouldn't be put out if they win, but I'd like to be able to bury them under Backfill when we make the play for their stash.

Okay, I'm starting to think we should recruit Adela as our pilot this turn, because that basically means we have a free engineer/fireball dispenser on any actions that may require it (such as fighting gribblies in Gryphon Wood, should the need arise), so new compromise plan:

[X] Plan Verenan Compromise + Bright Pilot
-[X] MAX: Learning: Rituals from the colleges. Mathilde pays gold costs.
-[X] EGRIMM: Attempt a Windherder enchantment with Egrimm
--[X] Shadowsteed & Clarity, allowing the user to ride all night without sleep
-[X] WEB-MAT: Investigate Gryphon Wood with one or more members of WEB-MAT (JOHANN)
-[X] WEB-MAT: Hire someone as a full-time Gyrocopter pilot (Adela)
-[X] Attempt to bring a Major House or Ward into the Waystone Project (Frost)
-[X] Investigate Alric
-[X] EIC: Try to uncover what's going on in Gryphon's Wood.
-[X] Library: Seek an agreement with a Cult to have access to their libraries (Verenans)
-[X] SERENITY: Write a paper: Observations of Johann's prosthetic arm (FRESH)
-[X] COIN: The Night Prowler

I've sacrificed the waystone action because I feel that would be better if we synergise that with the framework action next turn—even though I personally really want to poke a waystone soon myself. But hey, that's why it's a compromise vote, I guess.

Quinsberry is the Halfling god of knowledge,
To be more specific, Quinsberry is the Halfling God of Ancestry and Tradition, not the God of Knowledge specifically. There is a difference. Quinsberry's focus is lineage and genealogy and not knowledge in general. I think it's important to clarify that.

Ahah, wait. I went double checking. This is irritating. Quinsberry is purely a God of Ancestry and Tradition in 2nd Edition WFRP, but he's counted as a God of Knowledge in the wiki, and it's citing 4th Edition. I'm going to guess this is a 4th Edition thing, where they expanded his portfolio. Still, it seems his library still focuses specifically on lineage.

Generally don't expect anything from the quinsberry library action but getting a bit of goodwill from the halflings. And maybe some awesome pie recipes.

He still has a Waystone in his cellar under a major population centre that's often at the forefront of defense against Chaos, so we might not want to start diplomancing him from scratch when we finally get around to it.
They'd be double the distance from their current hunting grounds and so would become very dependent on being paid as librarians for sustenance. It's not impossible, but it would mean drastically changing their entire way of life.
