You have over a thousand Pegasi allied with your army, plus one of the Canterbury mages accompanying you is specialized in wind and weather magic, so that's certainly an option.

Gravity manipulation is really just an application of Unicorn telekinesis, which, while viable, would be difficult to pull off on even one of the dragons, let alone all of them.

While the cannon crew cannot really be sped up themselves, they can accelerate the velocity of the cannon rounds to increase their damage and slightly increase their range. It wouldn't have been enough to target the city, but it might be enough to target low-flying dragons.

The dragons are currently level with the fleeing Maretonians, who are in turn level with the city, so unless they come lower or closer to your forces they remain out of range of even magically enhanced cannonfire.

The passage of several days has allowed the mages to fully recover from their earlier exertions.

Thank you!

[X] Plan: Clip Their Wings
-[x] Reposition cannons, ballistas, and crossbows-in-area for firing lines upon the Dragons.
-[x] Reposition Army units out of the line of fire, but reinforcing the Siege in case of a breakout attempt.
-[x] Repositon Knights for potential intercept if something goes wrong.
-[x] Allow the "relief" force through, but once the Dragons are positioned for a crossfire, open fire.
-[x] Assuming we don't have time for specific loads, the cannons will fire what they have in them. If they have time for a reload, half will fire Scattershot with the goal of wrecking their wings, the other half will fire Solidshot to lay in the hurt on them. If a particular shot is found to be completely ineffective, shift to the other one.
-[x] Accept Surrenders if it comes up.

I appreciate the enthusiasm but WoG says that the plan won't work as written, so I'll just need to fiddle with it some.

[X] Plan: Clip Their Wings v2
-[X] Objectives: Neutralize newly introduced Draconic forces, maintain Siege
--[X] While it is hypothetically possible that these Armored Dragons could be potential Allies and reasoned with, they've already killed some of our men so we're not standing for that.
-[X] Magic users will be split into three groups, Weather Specialists, Illusionists/Protectors, Amplifiers
--[X] Weather Specialists will focus on manipulating air pressure and temperature to drag down the Dragons into range of our artillery. If the air below them is a much lower pressure than the air above them, the air will push very strongly downwards on the Dragons, making flying immensely difficult and hopefully drag them down towards us. If we can ice over their wings that should also create quite a few complications.
---[X] If the "Relief" Forces are caught up in the pull, then it really sucks to be them.
--[X] Illusionists/Shield Specialists/Fire Specialists will be on stand by to attempt to magically intercede in Draconic action to disrupt attacks and limit lives lost, through sense manipulation, shield blocking, or attempting to redirect or just plain limit fires.
--[X] Amplifiers will work with cannon crews to enhance cannon fire, through increased shot velocity or other means.
-[X] Cannons in area will load Scattershot while waiting for Dragons to enter range. General objective will be to injure their wings enough that the opposition force will not be able to fly until after healing has been received. If ineffective or if the Dragons have been clipped, switch to Solid Shot.
-[X] Knights will assume Dragon Slaying Taskforces and be on hand to intercept if the Dragons aggress towards our men. Godspeed you madmen.
-[X] Normal Troops will get out of the way of the giant flying fire breathing lizards and besides the usual detachments to protect Artillery and the like, will focus on maintaining the siege.
-[X] Assuming this all actually works, with the Magic attempts actually dragging the Dragons into range, the Cannons being effective against Dragons, and the Dragons being grounded and caught within a crossfire of artillery such that they are beat to the ground, one request for Surrender will be made. If not accepted, we tried.
-[X] In the event that we don't manage to drag the Dragons into cannon range and they go on to Mare-A-Thon instead of pivoting to attack us, commence with The Great Big Mare-a-thon Fireball.

[X] They Shall Pass
-[X]Have Unicorns ready: It would be wise to have our mages prepare a shield ahead of time for when they pass.

[X] Plan: The Great Big Mare-a-thon Fireball

No need to put ourselves at risk when we can let House Storm and the dragons fight one another and then deal with whoever wins. This way, we should take less casualties.

Also, just because it was confirmed that the explosion was caused by a firebomb hitting a food deposit does not mean that Pegicles does not plan to destroy his city as a last resort. Letting the dragons go ahead means that we can force Pegicles to use whatever gambits and last resorts he still has on the dragons, not us.

To reiterate they did kill our people how is our own allies and people going to react to letting them through after being attacked
Considering they're pursuing our enemy and they'll get into a fight and weaken each other making it much easier to fight them if we have to?

Probably something along the lines of "That was really smart and made the fight much easier than it otherwise might have been"

Thats not exactly how emotions or morale works. They attacked us and are going to do who knows what to a city full of civilians defeating them now along with the reinforcements will make the people in the city possible consider surrender and actually having a city and not a dragon destroyed husk of one will make the after war part easier on everyone.

[X] Plan: The Great Big Mare-a-thon Fireball
-[X] Let the dragons go to the city unimpeded and wait for them to be in the city limits, properly battling the defenders.
-[X] While both sides are distracted, have your forces start prepping several barrels of explosive powder to be rigged to explode. Several of which are to be filled with various metal objects to create shrapnel.
-[X] When all dragons are battling House Storm, have your forces' mages scry the battlefield and see where the dragon forces are and where the most dense House Storm forces are.
-[X] Once this information is acquired, begin lighting the explosive barrels and have your mages teleport them to the location of the enemy.
--[X] If the dragons seem to be more resistant to the explosives, then focus on them more in the subsequent bombings to ensure they are more weakened.
-[X] Once the explosives are detonated, repeat the process a few more times, then wait for the fighting in the city to die down before your forces are sent into attack in force.

Firstly the killed four people in the collateral of attacking Pegicles' men

Secondly you'll be hard pressed to find someone in the army who gives a shit what happens to Pegicles' supporters, especially when we've been firebombing them nonstop

Thirdly it's far more likely that if we get caught up in a costly battle with the dragons Pegicles will attack us afterwards when we're tired and distracted

And fourthly you're assuming that the dragons will completely destroy the city and even if they do the vast majority of people won't really care since they'd just be happy the war is over and Pegicles is dead

So what is the appeal of the They Shall Pass vote? Not going to lie, my write-in is basically that, but we are actively doing something to ensure we are having absolute advantage.

Primarily that people don't want to get into a fight wi the dragons if we can help it and blowing them up definitely makes that more likely
I'm not seeing how given we are teleporting the explosives into the area and as far as I am aware, they have no idea we have any such weapons (keep in mind, before we showed up, everyone had classical to medieval era technology). Even if, worst case scenario, they figure out we're the ones doing it and come after us, they are likely to be seriously injured given we'd had have teleported several bombs in front of them and we VASTLY outnumber them and our cannons will make mincemeat of them.

Bit of an idea here, but since the slow field affects all things inside the field could we have it up to let the gunnery crews zero in then at theblast moment drop the field while letting the crews account for the sudden increase of speed by the dragons? You'd need some dwarven engineering mathmaticals to pull off all those variables for such a shot, but it could be a heck of a welcome.

Unless Storm drives them off, I am pretty sure we will end up being engaged by the dragons regardless of what we do.

Yeah, House Storm is pretty torn to shreds and the defenders are probably exhausted from our constant harassment. I'm sure they'll get a few good hits in on the dragons, but the dragons are probably coming out on top.

Hence why we should bomb the fuck out of both of them while they are fighting.

I think we need to attack the dragons, since house storm morale at rock bottom at this point, they will more likely to run instead stand and fight. Causing more chaos in the city and make it more harder to take Mare-a-thon.

One of the draconian fighters swoops low and quickly incinerates a quartet of airborne Griffons who hadn't dodged out of the way of his flight path fast enough, their charred bodies falling to earth.

Captain Pranceus looks like he wants to strangle his Abolitionist counterpart.

"They're dragons you idiot, they're not on anyone's side!"
Just going to say, they didn't do this as "collateral". They just incinerated our troops just because they were there. Collateral damage is when you are trying to hit something and you hit something else while in the process. What that dragon did was go out of his way to burn our troops to death.

We are fighting them (unless House Storm kills them), it is just where we want to fight them is more of the issue. Do we want to fight them in the city or out in the open.
