How can we be the Head librarian for our new library, the head of a totally new magical academy type deal, AND do the Waystone project in a totally different place all at the same time?

>:O
Not spending time with Panoramia!?

?

We're totally spending time with Panoramia. She's been steadily holding third place since the vote started, not far behind the Duel and Eike.

I'd like to point out that Eike has a bit more than 80% of the vote, which is about as unanimous as this thread ever gets- especially for social votes, which are usually if anything more contentious than turn votes.

I don't have a real point here, I just think its cute.

It's interesting how fast Mathy has gone from comparing the prince unfavorably to Wolf to lavishing attention on Eike. I would suspect IC that is because she does not know how to handle small children, but that cannot be it since she came from a large peasant family. Maybe it's sense of protectiveness she feels towards Eike that the prince does not evoke. After all who would he need protecting from?
That's a good point. And iirc she was not the youngest of the bunch. So she's almost definitely had to babysit.
I actually didn't vote Karak-Vlag for headpats, I just thought it would be really nice for them to have someone to talk to from the outside world that they might trust. If somebody saved me from the demon realm I would also feel a bit shitty if I couldn't thank them in person, so yeah, it's more like I feel it would be nice for them to have someone, especially Mathilde to talk to. And I am really interested in how they are doing right now.
My reason for not wanting to visit Vlag in the social turn is that I expect us to spend AP on visiting it sooner rather than later.

Well, the good news is that "head of a totally new magical academy type deal" and "do the Waystone project" are more or less the same job. We made the collage as a tool for gathering the resources and expertise we need for the waystones. We've also secured a gyrocopter for fast transport to wherever we need to be. And as I understand it, the head librarian thing is mostly going to be setting policy and instructions for our staff—not too different to how Abel gave instructions to his council.

Finally, both the collage and the library are boons, so I doubt they'll be super detrimental on our AP commitments (although I'm not expecting them to be free either).

Pretty sure there was an option to just set policy and have a hands off approach to the library but people voted for the "this is my day-job now" head librarian option so idk...

As I understand it the library will take a half action which is equivalent to half a days worth of work a week. So more involved than just setting policies but not really enough to get directly involved in day to day stuff. Edit: or is it half a weeks work a month, 1 sec checking this. Edit 2: Yes it is 1 action ~ 1 day of work a week

You're right, I got the two mixed up. That said, it'll only take half an action to run the library, which leaves us 5 1/2 actions for everything else.

[ ] (LIBRARY) Head Librarian
Involved in all the day-to-day workings, and able to make staffing decisions, negotiate access to new sources of books, assign priorities for book acquisition, and make sure the day-to-day of the library is going fine. Will count as an organization under Mathilde's control, so will cost a half-action a turn.

Head librarian is just half an AP per turn. During our time at K8P, we regularly spent multiple AP per turn in Altdorf. Splitting our time between multiple places isn't that big of a deal because we have access to the gyrocopter network. Furthermore, we have placed an order for a gyrocarriage, which will let us haul our collection of wizards with us between our WEBMAT facilities in K8P and our Waystones work in Laurelorn. It's really not a big deal.

Each AP in a six-month turn is notionally equivalent to one month of work, so half an AP is two weeks of work. Don't poke too heavily at the abstraction -- in this case, what I think it represents is "Mathilde setting aside some time every week to go over reports and such the way she currently does for the EIC."

We need to learn more about them for our boon anyways, right?

Right?
