[X] Altdorf, to witness the octenniel duels for the position of Supreme Patriarch.
[X] Eike, as she begins her tutelage at the Grey College.
[X] Pay a visit to your fief, to see if anything has changed. It probably hasn't.

I don't care strongly enough to choose a fourth option.

[X] Karak Vlag, to see if they've been talked out from behind their fortifications yet.

Yes.

yep! and i like it a lot, though it does put a limit on collection size.
Hence the ability to dig out side chambers and corridors for expansion. I figure that experience will show what's the most frequently requested material and that can be in the stacks while more obscure stuff can be archived out of the way.

But I do trust the dwarves to build the initial layout large enough for quite a while, certainly. And we can always expand in the z-axis, given it's in a mountain.

My view on Vlag is this:

you don't go asking for headpats, that's gauche.

your support to let headpats come to you, that's culture

I actually didn't vote Karak-Vlag for headpats, I just thought it would be really nice for them to have someone to talk to from the outside world that they might trust. If somebody saved me from the demon realm I would also feel a bit shitty if I couldn't thank them in person, so yeah, it's more like I feel it would be nice for them to have someone, especially Mathilde to talk to. And I am really interested in how they are doing right now.

I really want to get this one in the top four, so I'm dropping my other picks for now.

we are going to be wading into that mess next turn, I want to go in knowing if its going well or if there are going to be landmines to avoid.

Not doing Karak Vlag because I'm not confident they've even been talked out yet, and if not that'll probably be a fairly underwhelming visit. I'd like to follow up with them, but I'd rather give it at least another turn to give ourselves better odds of having something to see.

I mean, out of character we know that Thorgrim convinced them that this is reality.

Floorplans floorplans floorplans floorplans.

Yes, I know. But floorplans floorplans floorplans floorplans.

Floorplans! Behold!

I've talked about this before, but now have visuals:

This is my proposed floorplan.

It's not only four interlocking <x>s which form a large one (when counting the distal cross-corridors), it also incorporates the Agrurhun symbols for Kron (in the overall hash shape) and Azgal (in the rhombic core, possibly housing offices or the like), mirroring the logo Redshirt Army came up with.

There's plenty of space off the main wings for additional side chambers and corridors for expansion/deeper storage (represented in grey). And since the original idea behind a library of this shape was to help Ranald placate Verena because Mathilde is Best Wingman, at the intersections, we can include artwork of Ranaldian cats across from Verenan owls (represented by the blue and red ), hidden amongst additional appropriate decoration, presumably featuring Shallyan doves among other unrelated artwork.

I envision the main portion of this library to be at least two floors for the classic indoor balcony aesthetic. Depending on the exact situation in Kvinn-Wyr, I'm not entirely sure where the entrance would be, it's possible access could be from a different level entering into the Azgal-core, which might also house offices or the like. If the Karag has a central staircase along the lines of Karag Nar, then that would be ideal. Obviously Kvinn-Wyr is not a blank slate, but hopefully the existing tunnels can be handwaved to accommodate our glorious architectural vision a design like this.
This nerding out over layout is adorable and has swung me on the value of the option where Mathilde nerds out over layout.

It's been almost a decade since our girl stepped up to bat, it'll be nice to get a better idea of how things are going to go is what I say when the thread asks why but really this is all about me getting my Van Hal fix.

Aethyric Vitae. You still retained a large supply of it, even after your experiments and donations to the sons of Thungi. Perhaps this might allow you to remain yourself.

Only critique is here. I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure that any descendant of Thungi can potentially learn Runesmithing, male or female.
