One thing against the Ambers is that Eike either has to give up on the EIC, which goes against the sense of responsibility instilled into her and also sucks really bad for Wilhelmina, or she has to spend the rest of her life doing a lot of stuff that clash with her (wind induced) preferences. Running the EIC is going to involve a lot of numbers and staying in cities.
Numbers yes. Staying in cities? Not really. Wilhelmina chooses to stay in urban areas but its not particularly more difficult to run a trading concern from an isolated place provided its on one of the trade routes in question. Indeed a travelling HQ can be a large boon in early modern economic systems like the Empires. And I don't think Numbers are *that* hated by Ambers given Dragomas and the fact that they do in fact take part in the academic culture of the collages.

So the current vote is that Mathy is going to push hard for the wizard angle, and that while she is going to try and give each of the colleges their fair shake...

she is blatantly already planning out kid-sized enchantment robes and who she will have to send premium dwarf beer to for the girl to get the good bunk-beds ...

Personally, I think a bigger problem concerning Eike inheriting a position in the EIC as an Amber Wizard would be that they tend to become fairly anti-social or even outright misanthropic because of the influence of their most common Arcane Marks, not even mentioning the effects of spending most of your life after joining wandering the Empire's forests fighting Beastmen.

Let's be honest, did you really expect anything different? Letting her make the choice doesn't change the fact that we really, really want that choice to be the Greys.

Hubert is actually really strange for a human, most humans do not have a preferred wind and the choices of who goes to what College is up to College culture.
I think you misunderstood what I was getting at completely. Hubert has a natural affinity for a Wind he does not prefer, and was shunted into a College he didn't want due to that. That lack of preference for his Wind has stunted his development as a Wizard despite his natural affinity. That's why I'm in favor of letting Eike choose the College she prefers.

I take this to mean we advise Eike that we believe these orders would be most be suitable, but leave the choice ultimately to her.

I spent the afternoon playing a shitty one-shot LARP instead of stalking the thread and boy do I regret my decisions.

Time to catch up on what I missed and see if anyone convinces me to change my mind.

Not sure if he doesn't prefer being a Celestial Wizard or if he's just really attuned with the elemental part of the Wind whilst not being all that attuned with everything else.

Being simultaneously well attuned and well rounded like Mathilde is may not be necessarily common; Mathilde is definitely much more talented than the average wizard.
