I think scouting is worth a lot more them talking too the journeyman honestly. Sure he might be dodgy, hell he might even be Chaos, but we know for a fact there's a whole army of Chaos worshipers out there. So who's the most pressing issue?

There probably won't be any renaming until the situation settles. The 'and final' designation is a matter of prestige for the commander and for the proper allocation of troops, it's not really relevant to a battlefield.
Ah, like a Skaven Marquis?
I think @Klaus's idea of Polish, Clean, and Gleam, Windherded together with Illusion (
...huh, that covers an unexpected complication - a gun Illusioned to never make any sound ALSO removes all the auditory cues that'd be warning signs of a fouled barrel or mechanism
I would struggle to find a definition for melee that would include bullets. Also, since this idea is obviously game breaking why would Boney allow it?
A gun that shoots spears maybe, but no runesmith worth the name would play silly buggers with a holy art.
It would be very weird for them, after heading south into skaven territory and getting into at least one tussle there, to randomly pick northeast as the direction to fly in and head straight to us.
Well...not out of the picture. Tzeentchians do that sort of assumption exploiting things.
Would be a completely different mechanic. Currently, the spell employs "Skywalk" in order to smooth out surfaces. Employing it on a shoal would force the ship up and over it instead of liquifying the obstacle.

Skywalk: Allows you to walk on air for a few seconds, enough to cover about twenty meters at a run.
- If you want to bring someone along you'll have to carry them.
Trying it with Ulgu might key off Substance of Shadow instead...thats a LOT of Ulgu.

Yes, he's holding down the fort while Mathilde's away.

Man am I the only one annoyed that we've only used one social on the Ice witch, if there was one person I was hoping we'd get to know better it was the ice witch so we could forge a connection with Kislevs magic users and maybe have the chance to put their magic under Mathildes witch sight.

I think you kinda answered your own question. Between the "fun adventure stuff" (Skaven raiding, visiting Chorfs etc.) and the basically required leadership stuff (mainly socials), not to mention soon to be neccessary scouting APs, there's just enough time in the day for everything.

Even thread favorites like Asarnil get left out, and Ljiljana can't really measure up to that.

And frankly, just building connections with Ice Witches so that Mathilde can potentially observe their magic later on seems far-fetched.

And a tiny bit scummy.

Perhaps even unneccessary, Solmann certainly intends to observe Ljiljana's mojo, and that without befriending her afaik.

Ok Scouting the Iron wolves lands is important. They are ruled by a Dragon Orge and attack every convoy they can. On top of that they seem to be bigger on chaos worshipping than normal Kurgen. We should scout there lands and see what level of threat they are.

I can see dwarven whalers with harpoon guns being a thing.
Ulgu-Dhar spell that manifests as a fog bank which steals your shadow, manifests it in the form of your inner fears, and then tries to murder you with it when?

You probably don't need Dhar for that, although Apparitions would probably really help.

The good news is that whatever happens we almost certainly won't have to deal with the actual dragon ogre, they're probably the only species sleepier than the slann.

Unless chaos or the winds are blowing strong. Assuming the dragon orge is asleep is a bad idea . It is one of the reasons we should scout the iron wolves lands. It being awake will be easy to see for Mathilde.

You know I wonder if any dwarfs or other fellow travelers saw us take a four fingered golden arm out of one of the barrels of meat and what kind of rumors that might have spawned.

A reusable bullet sounds like a hilarious and awesome way to work around some of the limitations on particular runes. The trick is that you'd have to make it out of gromril and you'd have to spend two-ish runes on making it reusable - one for retrieval (something like the Rune of the Unknown or Flakkson's Rune of Seeking) and one for extra durability (in case you shoot a major demon or a gromril plate or something). Then you can put one more good solid rune on it, maybe a variant on Kragg's Master Rune or an antimagic effect or something. The best part is, since ammunition is normally disposable, a master-quality reusable bullet would be a strict improvement over normal ammo in the eyes of the dwarves!
Assuming you can put runes on ammo, I think a bullet would be too small to actually put anything on.
