Oooh, as a potential side note, if we can steal any of that Skaven "Weird goop thing that is edible and can turn organic material into more of itself" stuff, we might be able to solve the food problem of this trip right then and there, and if any clan is likey to have plenty of that freaky biological miracle on hand it's probably Moulder.

It might not be easy to walk out of there with a full barrel, but if we can get a small container we can probably grow it into a more worthwhile size later.

After all, grass should count as organic, I think, and Kurgan territory at least has to have plenty of grass for their horses.
Speaking of stealing from the Skaven, I wonder if we can get a load of biological books to match the tech library we stole earlier, or maybe some religious/magical tomes. I almost wish there was likely to be another Eshin assassin to loot too, but unless the war's still ongoing and Eshin came up here for some reason, that's unlikely.

It's a terrible place, and the world would be far better if it was torn to the ground. But it's also a place where a fistful of gold could turn into just about anything, including ancient tomes, forgotten scrolls, Elven steles, and golden plaques from the New World.
Weren't there those skink mounted raiders that wanted golden plaques? I think they were heading north this whole time, getting further north with every switch of allegiance.
It'd be pretty silly if we ran into them in this chaos dwarf city, but at the same time I can't help but fantasize about hiring someone else to help out with this expedition. -though if we did I'm not sure it'd be great for our reputation, they'd seem like mutants to the unlearned. hrmmm.

Ind and Khuresh don't have easy access to Uzkulak. The River Ruin is polluted to the point that wooden ships get eaten away if they spend too long trying to sail up it. Dark Elves, some Tomb Kings, and some Vampires are included under 'pirates of every stripe and species'.
So no races from the southeast, only slaves from the northeast.
Though I guess they'd still get goods from down there? Assuming chaos dwarf ships go up and down their own river regularly.

Also, hoping the combes get picked, I want to know what happened to those Daemons.

I don't think investigating either the Chaos Dwarves or the Skaven would make them any more aware of us than they already are. I mean, we are taking the main route in the region, it would be highly surprising if they don't have any kind of surveillance. The QM even said we were likely to have at least two sets of eyes on us at the same time.

At least, if we visit, we can get clues if any of them seem to muster a response and it gives us a chance to potentialy interfere.

In the same vein, scouting ahead proved crucial to defusing future threats during last expedition.

I dont know 8f anyone noticed but that scene with the greater demon blocking Mathilde's sword and her glory-filled thoughts was the similar to Aizen blockung Ichigo's sword and Background music in their first fight, with Aizen throwing out a suitably ominous one-lìner.

No, I'm talking about the questers. Roswita, horrid stupid bitch, fuck her! Johann? Suspicious asshole aiming to learn nasty Skaven secrets that'll blow up in everyone's faces and worse, make us look bad; keep an eye on the bastard. Borek? He's a single-minded idealistic moron who isn't considering the particulars.
Thing is, no of those are entirely wrong. Roswita did fire us for a bad reason, took some actions that could've gone pretty and would've gotten herself killed without Mathilde's intervention. Johann is sus, and his search blew up in everyones faces even while we were keeping an eye on him. It just blew up mostly in other people's faces, but that could've gone quite different. And Borek definitely is single minded, and not too concerned about anything besides his goal (though I don't think anyone's called him an idealist).

Mathilde lives by "Distrust, but verify". Given Warhammer in general, and her particular role, that actually makes her a fairly trusting person, since she is willing to put her trust in others, when they've proven themselves. That the thread reflects that is a cool bit of inadvertent roleplaying.
