I think we should also lead Arsanil, to the extent that one can 'lead' a Calandorian Dragon Prince simply because otherwise I don't think he is good about taking advice from dwarfs.
Hm, on the other hand, they're apparently willing to modify or bulk up a landship just to be able to carry his dragon... Maybe they're willing or able to work with him?

I really wish we could have the opportunity to talk with Asarnil (and the Knightly Orders, for that matter) before deciding first...

... I think we may want to take command over the Wizards only. The Knights are here for the call of glory, to fight that ancient foe of the Empire, Chaos. On the other hand, maybe they'd be cool with somebody handling talking to the Dwarfs -- especially as Mathilde is a Dwarf friend and knows their language... and is basically the reason they're there. And Asarnil is... I dunno.

Actually. If we assume command over him... can we back it up? Or are we going to be making it clear that we're representing Asarnil rather than his exact superior because he's an Elf with a freaking Dragon...

... Also, Borek is the one paying him. Not Mathilde. Hrhm.

[X] Lead only the Wizards

Preliminary vote for this one, for now.

Not a battle wizard. He is a full magister who happens to have enough aptitude and trust from his college to have acсess to battle magic.
A battle wizard, as in a wizard that has access to battle spells. All Battle Wizards are battle wizards, but not all battle wizards are Battle Wizards.

/pedantic

Anyway, it's quite an achievement regardless, and a big hammer for the expedition toolbox.
Can you elaborate on this
Notice how Mathilde muses on his effectiveness against Chaos Dwarf troops? Damaging Gold spells like Searing Doom seem to all play on the concept of turning armor against its wearer, the more armor you are wearing, the harder it hits.

And Chaos Dwarfs, and more or less everything in their faction like Black Orcs, are all quite heavily armored.

I feel it's best if we lead them all Borek is no Belegar so we should try to keep the problems to a minimum.

"She has a daemon trapped in eternal torment to collect its ever flowing blood"
Technically not true, according to the Gold college - apparitions are legally defined as not daemons. /pedantry
So, why is no one talking about how Johann is now a battle wizard? Searing Doom is the signature battle spell of the Golds.
Johann wanted to punch even better, so now he can punch at range?

[X] Lead only the Wizards
Mathilde is likely to have to disappear for at least a few days, to fulfill the bargain with the Ice Witches, so...

[x] Lead the Wizards and Asarnil

Everything except the fodder, anyways.

I don't wantto lead everyone because too much responsibility and we want another voice at the table, any other option is fine.

We are a highly mobile & high intrigue combatant. We are most effective as The forward element and spreading ourselves too thin will reduce our effectiveness.
But at the same time given the lack of leadership on the level of Belegar, the entire mission is itself in danger. Hence prioritizing the overall success of the mission.
As for Asarnil, its best to discuss the level of contact he's willing to have with the dwarfs & vice versa and then decide based on it.

Vote's shaping up interestingly, with some complications from inconsistent formatting. It's pretty easy to regroup the votes, but for the sake of neatness:

@The Lone badger, @Cheap Orange Knofe, @In_lurk_shadow, @Night_stalker, @Lightwhispers, @nothingtoseehere: You currently are voting for "Lead the wizards only". The actual vote option, if you look at the tally, is "Lead only the Wizards".

@Warlord D Thoran: You're missing the terminal "l" in "Asarnil".

@Jyn Ryvia: Drop the "only" in "Lead only the Wizards and Asarnil"

Honestly, with how elite the group is, I don't actually think it would be the best use of mathy's time to do stuff like scouting ahead. (Rangers, battle huskies and dragon)

like, she is super good at the stuff, but no one in this group is going to be bad at it.

I think we should be spending most of our time at social and leadership stuff. Get to know (spy) and everything one and u ruffling feathers

and of course magicking away problems.

Again, mathy is good at scouting and sneaking. Butshe won't be needed until we get to the hard stuff. Focus on the social to begin with.

I'm mostly wondering whether we're going to get any deserters. The location we're heading to is intimidating as hell, and our force is small enough that we would actually notice deserters.

Edit: also
[X] Lead the Wizards and Knightly Orders

Asarnil can probably speak Khazalid, is himself already representing a dragon who we can't speak to, and we know he's got a lot of experience working for dwarves.

Best focus on one field for the expedition.
