OK, gosh, the discussion is really quite civil (such as there is; people have mostly just been voting), so I apologize for doubting the thread. I am still sorry that Boney feels we have to make a call on this now lest it damage the thread culture; whether or not that's true, that sort of pressure is just... unpleasant in the extreme.

I have refrained from casting a vote on the romance option because, well, all the things I really wanted to read romance-wise have been defeated in the voting, so anything I voted there wouldn't be a real expression of genuine preferences. Well, apart from this:

holy shit can confirm, this x100. I have heard tale of multiple "let's open up our relationship" talks and only one of them has ever gone well.

That said, I do care a lot about this social turn, and I am really glad we're finally checking in with Hluodwica. On a meta level, the fact that she's a high priestess of the Halfling gods gives a reason for us coming to visit her now: with all our talks with Cython about religion, it makes sense that Mathilde would go "hey, wait a second, I should interact with the halfling spiritual leadership a bit more, at least so that I know what's up." This is doubly embarrassing because we got a priestess of Esmerelda to educate the We for us, way back when.

Cython is gonna be an autopick every time it shows up. The new Kragg, that one is. I wonder if we can set them up with each other.

WRT Qrech's graduation, I still require fanart of a skaven in a mortarboard, and, as an added incentive, if you provide such a thing I will donate to the charity of your choice (on a sliding scale based on the amount of effort that went into said fanart; pasting an existing image of a mortarboard onto an existing image of a skaven is not going to get the payout of something hand-drawn).

I do think that getting to know Eike better is important, especially insofar as the thread has been spending a lot of thought on "maybe we should just forget this spy shit and hand the EIC over."

It seems like they aren't going to win this round, but especially with our College Favour stockpile so low, we really should check in on the organ vat at some point. And I do want to find out what the golds are doing with our ratty-swag.

I haven't even checked the totals or much of the discussion, but I'm already sure these votes won't win. But sometimes I guess you just have to vote for what you want and not be sad about losing.

I am not and never have been in favor of Cython socializing, so no reason to break that streak. Instead I'll vote for the Dolgan plus some social actions I've wanted for a while. Will we ever, ever, talk to Elder Hluodwica? Time to find out. Her everybody into the Panoramia relatiomship, you should really consider that talking to Hluodwica would give more insights into Panoramia and what she's been up to.

Constant romance, discussion, are getting somewhat toxic, and by are getting, i mean have become, and by discussion, i mean screaming matches.
So the whole romance is getting fast tracked.

Does Mathilde really seem like someone who is even thinking about something like that right now? Like, I guess I can imagine her having the "what do you, like, you know, think of, uhm, non-... non-exclusivity? itsjustthatIreadsomewherethatyoushouldtalkearlyaboutthiskindofstuff! Eeeeeh!" kind of talk. But telling Panoramia that she wants to potentially bring specifically Johann and/or Cython into the relationship when she's barely passed the handholding phase for the first time in her life just seems a teensy bit preposterous.

@BoneyM Is mentioning the possibility of poly to Pan without yet having a specific candidate in mind an option? What about, in theory, if someone wants to go poly but not with a currently known character, staying open to people Mathilde has yet to meet, like a certain Light Magister for instance?
 
So I know most of our rolls were disappointing. But I want to point out two things: First, we did succeed on all our actions this update, even if most of them weren't exciting. Secondly, where it really counts we rolled damn well:

That's a 94. Moreover, it's a total result of 147! And I know, it doesn't feel like a success because the spell is still in progress. But take a look at this from last turn:

That's a 93. Now there are multiple rolls each time we've been creating Fog Path. But when it's come time to actually create the spell component, we've rolled over 90 twice. Our progress so far looks like:

Component 1: Crit Success. Optimized Skywalk like a Real Programmer.
Component 2: Crit Success. Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stops this Path of Fog.
Component 3: ?

The only way we could have gotten better results were if we'd rolled a natural 100. And there's only one component left to go.

Well, if the relationship itself is getting fast-tracked partially off screen, as in Mathilde and Pan have either gotten sexual in the last six months or decided that they are a romantic couple that doesn't put much emphasis on sex then okay, I guess.

But if what we last saw of them is how their relationship currently looks then I just can't vote for B, despite me having been a Pan/Mathy/Johann OT3 supporter since it first became an option. It locks me in to supporting A just to feel like I am voting to stay in character.

If you mean it's early for how far that relationship has developed, that sort of talk needs to happen early on. If you mean for Mathilde's personal level of experience with relationships, mono/poly is a completely separate spectrum to handholding/[censored].

Yeah, I'd like to allow for that level of long-term thread control over the evolution of Mathilde's personal life. Apparently that's not a possibility, as it's been cited by a lot of people as a direct cause of breakdowns in thread civility.

Not the romance as such, but the votes.
But it has been 6 months, dates have happened offscreen, what happened in them is undetermined until looked into.

As far as actions from an experienced person who knows what they want go, it's definitely separate. One can be a kinky poly handholder or anything else. But for someone with literally zero experience outside of romance novels its all a big mess of complicated and interconnected stuff.

Yeah okay. I always am saddened when outside problems from the forum impede correct quest simulation, but this time (as is usually the case) that's not in any way the QM's fault. In fact it seems you chaffe more than me for it I'll just have to make the best of it.

I'll be honest, the "[] [ROMANCE] Seek a romantic relationship with a second partner." sounds really sleazy to me, I'm pro polygamy, but the wording makes it sound like we would be going behind Pan's back.

Maybe something like "[] [ROMANCE] Discuss with Panoramia her expectations for a relationship, her preferences and whether she would enjoy bringing someone else into it"

I am happily voting for what I feel like reading regardless of what's going to win. Training months are less interesting but obviously super necessary for where we are going.

I want to highlight this, it has been confirmed outright that the worst outcome of trying to bring in another partner is Panoramia declining and the relationship continuing as normal. If you just don't want to invest the AP then fair enough, but if you're voting for the mono Pan option out of a desire to be respectful or loyal to Panoramia then you're just wrong about what your vote is for. This is, when we come down to it, just a vote about whether a second group of people get to also have a relationship option of their choosing at no harm to what Mathilde and Panoramia already have.
