Okay, here's what I have for group assignments. These three sites are new, whereas the Barrow of Kings and Barrow of Mage-Smith's have already been explored and cleared out to some extent. That doesn't mean we can't check them out, too, but they're of less interest, IMO.
I'd like to double check both before we go.

-[] Air Force Deployment
--[] Deploy the 3 Moonchaser-class vessels in a rough circle over the valley at an altitude of 500m.
---[] Their main objective will be to alleviate weather attacks and to protect the ward anchors from a concentrated Other assault. For this reason they are deployed low enough to draw fire from ground forces.
---[] They will be loaded up with an equal mix of Explosive Pack / Alchemists Fire payloads for Beetle Bombs, Bolts / Alchemists Fire for point defense Launchers and solid / Explosive Pack / Alchemists Fire shells for the Steam Cannons.
--[] Deploy the Wyvern contingents at high altitude, where they will observe weather pattern while circling well above the cloud cover. At the captain's discretion, they will either dive in to attack hostile fliers, or break contact and evacuate towards the Wall if conditions worsen too much for them to safely fly.
---[] They will use an equal mix of bolts / Alchemists Fire rounds for their Launchers, 2 Explosive Pack Beetle Bombs, 2 Alchemists Fire Beetle Bombs, and a full 500 pound load of Alchemist Fire in their bomb bays.

For the regular forces. Odds are, if the Others flex their muscles, they will try to wipe the wards and Thennhold before using their now total control of the battlefield to kill everyone we brought here.
Added this to my plan to replace what I had originally.

@Crake, working to assign the other assets now.

Viserys can still punch out a very high leveled Control Weather of his own.
I think as long as the efences of Thenn Valley are yet standing, that should be enough.

Only if those go down and he has to stand against an Other-intervention alone would I be worried.

Plan updated, now including @Azel's air force assignments, a group to check out the Barrow of the Mage-Smiths, further assignments to the other groups, and a larger reserve force.

@Goldfish, can we load up the Adamantine Golem and the Yss' Champion-Snek into the Moonchasers as some last-ditch drop-troops?
They were in my notes for the turnplan, but did not carry over in Crake's.
:/

There were supposed to be Harbringer, Heralds, loads of Erynies as well...

Check his updated plan once more.

Yeah, I failed my reading comprehension check. having just woken up had me with a malus.
*woop woop woop's away*

EDIT: the super-snek still doesn't seem to be there, and a CR20 creature is nothing to sniff at, wherever it's assigned.

I'm rather tempted to take a few Spitters and Black Knights along with the clear expectation that something will go wrong, but it's just such a unique chance to test their resistance to Other influence.

I would actually like to take the chance to send one or two as a test subject to see just how much the Others can command enemy undead. We can destroy it quickly if need be, but you're right, this is a unique chance to get vital intel. Maybe we could install kill switches in these ones for the mission?

Nothing comes to mind that would be simple to set up on short notice.

Though we could cram a Necrotic Mold in there. The molds are not undead, so immune to the Other control, but they can prevent their vessels from acting on their own.

I've added Nirah as part of the reserve force. He's a bit large for any of the barrows, and the Godswood group is already crowded. Having him available to run interference where needed should be fine.

How hard would it be to make fire-based undead? Or positive-energy undead? I know the former definitely exists as we've seen in Valyria, but the latter sounds far more esoteric.
