How hard would it be to make fire-based undead? Or positive-energy undead? I know the former definitely exists as we've seen in Valyria, but the latter sounds far more esoteric.
Researching Fire templates for them.
A city? that feels like a low estimate
Ammunition and water storage limit how large an area a Moonchaser can flatten. Three of them with Wyverns sounds like a good amount to truly flatten an average city.

That is, unless we use Wildfyre ammo.

this might just be me but i don't want them to throw the dragon whose breath erases a persons existance at us, for what i feel are quite obvious reasons
I want to fight one because the more we kill before the Long Night the less overall dangerous it will be. I'm anticipating they get some sort of bullshit boost if it's high Winter.

If they throw a single Frost Dragon at us, I'll laugh heartily. It will be quite a sight when it is pulverised in midair by a salvo of the cannons.

The biggest thing going for dragons is that they're giant sacks of HP with murder blenders strapped on.

Thirty steam cannons should make short work of even that.

Granted, they might have some excellent defensive magic, but that's not exactly thematic with Oblivion so I'm not anticipating it.

So I'm not entirely caught up, but did we just decide to say "fuck the Others" this month? Because that is... a lot of firepower we just sent. Like, enough to level a city or two, at least.

we are taking literally anything of worth out of the Thenn valley including the Thenns and thing out of every burrow this month. we decided to just bring everyone and do it all at once and if the Others react in some way we blow whatever they send up then leave with all the shiny and people shaped loot

Operation Thennnap 294!

This is the Others' last chance to grab a single large group of warm bodies before Winter, not to mention capture a number of truly ancient Weirwoods and Heart Trees, so we need to be ready for them to make a move.

Considering just how much firepower we have brought, however, I don't expect them to make a play. We're more likely to see them in one of the Barrow or other dungeon sites.

I guess that's fair, it just shocked me a bit to see so much effort out towards screwing with just one of our foes. Any particular reason we didn't try to rope in any of the Chosen we have friendly relations with? Danelle and her crew would probably enjoy fucking over the Others, and the Father guy—whose name escapes me at the moment—should probably see first hand the things we're fighting. Unless something changed with him in the last half a million words or so that I missed?

Danelle is currently in the Feywild so she's out and people here really don't like Lucan so that's never really an option

We aren't allies.

Danielle went off to the Feywild to find the last Children of the Forest, her friends are...not too happy with us for her doing that and the Chosen of the Father...the less said the better.

Edit: More aptly put by @Crake

Huh, I thought we had at least reached a point where we could work together against the larger threats, but I guess not. And why did Danelle go looking for the Children? What did we do to cause something like that?

-[X] Deploy the 3 Moonchaser-class vessels in a rough circle over the valley at an altitude of 500m.
--[X] Their main objective will be to alleviate weather attacks and to protect the ward anchors from a concentrated Other assault. For this reason they are deployed low enough to draw fire from ground forces.
--[X] They will be loaded up with an equal mix of Explosive Pack / Alchemists Fire payloads for Beetle Bombs, Bolts / Alchemists Fire for point defense Launchers and solid / Explosive Pack / Alchemists Fire shells for the Steam Cannons.
-[X] Deploy the Wyvern contingents at high altitude, where they will observe weather pattern while circling well above the cloud cover. At the captain's discretion, they will either dive in to attack hostile fliers, or break contact and evacuate towards the Wall if conditions worsen too much for them to safely fly.
--[X] They will activate their Energy Siege Shot systems and set them to Fire damage, use an equal mix of bolts / Alchemists Fire rounds for their Launchers, 2 Explosive Pack Beetle Bombs, 2 Alchemists Fire Beetle Bombs, and a full 500 pound load of Alchemist Fire in their bomb bays.

I just realized a strategy we might be able to employ.

If we find a sanctuary of the Others, like that Frost-Touched Cave where we captured the Mythic Ancient Wight Lord, we can sacrifice the entire sanctuary to the Old Gods by growing a Heart Tree on top of it... and then we can bring the Heart Tree back with us.
