I mean, who's even going to notice? Most people who keep to the Old Gods can't actually tell the difference at all since they don't have a connection good enough to get answers out of a weirwood. Those few who do and are in a position to use that tree in particular can be warned, they probably work for us anyhow.

If someone decides to investigate the tree in search of our influence for some reason, they may notice it being an outright fake as well as it having no power the way the ones we sacrifice to do, but if Lannister mages who can notice that get into Storm's End then we have bigger problems.
On the flip side, making a fake weirwood is convoluted enough that at this point I just don't want to bother.

I am unsure if this is a statement made seriously as a good plan, or as a joke pointed towards how little people of the south worship the old gods.
It's a serious suggestion. As far as anyone would know, the tree would still be there and unless someone tried to physically interact with it they would have no chance to disbelieve it. Even if someone did try to touch it, Viserys' spell save DC is high enough that the great majority of people would need a Natural 20 to realize that it's an illusion.

It does help that most folks in the area have no special reverence for the tree, not to mention how few have access to it and reason to pay it any attention.

Touching a figment reveals it to be fake, no save required as there is simply nothing to touch

...or we can just put a "fake" Heart Tree there, a free action to make it in the fleshforge.
It was even described a few chapters ago as an option.
The only difference will be that it wont be capable of magic effects, and... well, the current one isnt either, is it?

We might as well. It's not something we have to do onscreen and won't eat up any meaningful resources.

Need some more votes, ya'll.

  • [X] Do the dedication now, it's not like a temple to Father Sky would reveal your hand, the only ready association is Ceria and few know the full tale of her power
[X] Move the tree and start looking for priests, but do not show the god's hand yet.

the only thing we need to decide is where do we move the tree of storms end and do we do a ritual to make it a proper magic weirwood and if so what effects will it have

So, uuuh.
Once in a year, or somewhat near that, I get sudden and inexplicable urge to draw.
Well, that much remains true at least.
And the page is just right to drop this.

@DragonParadox, consider this a celebratory page 15,000 fan-art.

Phew.
I feel mostly happy with this.
Spent over 109 hours total.
Sure, the number would have been offset by about 30 hours had I had a graphic tablet and not been using the mouse alone as a drawing implement...
But I'm still terribly unproductive, even if I can't claim to be a bad artist per se.

Can't claim that this is a totally original work either, I used several pieces from other works either as inspiration or a direct basis for parts of armor in mine - this one is the only directly recognizable still, though.
I'm not sure how copyright will see something like that, tbh. I'd _like_ to think my work is transformative enough in nature...

Even though I have fallen behind on this thread, this quest is still an impressive accomplishment and something I am excited to see continue. 15k pages is something truly monumental, Congratulations!

Your work is more then distinct enough to be counted as yours copyright wise.
