@Azel, please include a couple of our Mighty Mind Dragons with Lya's group? Two of them are female, after all. Lya, Vee, and Rina are all hellaciously powerful, but they are not serious melee combatants by any means.

I mean we're not conquering, we're just doing our usual "sees maiden, takes maiden" shtick. That has never backfired so far, has it?
Does she want to come, though? This isn't some oppressed peasant or anything. Her own brother is fighting a war, and we want her to abandon him and all her friends and acquaintances to move halfway around the world?
Looting her may turn out to be the best possible practical solution, but it certainly isn't the best goal.

We can give her the choice now. If she rejects it, then her fate is her own.

Why are we picking a fight here? I'm pretty sure we just haven't yet provided enough of threat profile.

I guess we seem harmless? Maybe we're also getting sloppy?

Her brother is the one who has already agreed to make her go away. We're only offering her a place to go after she got kicked out. She can be sad about it all she wants, but she's leaving either way, all she can choose is where and how she goes.

@TalonofAnathrax, my expectation is actually that Pol Ning will refuse, our team moves home and we can wash our hands off this matter, leaving Xue with a clear statement about her diplomatic skill.

She came here prepared to fight Tiamat's avatar. She must have some sort of ace up her sleeve (a ritual has been mentioned).

They most certainly did not come prepared to fight an Avatar of a God. They were at most prepared to burn some drakes out of the sky. And they lost about half of the power they used for that ritual by reshaping it.

My main anger stems from how sloppy and high handed she acts. She tried to blackmail us into a marriage alliance and I have to concede that this attempt took balls. But she grossly overplayed her hand. Instead of paying the piper and conceding to our reasonable counter-demand, she digs her heels in.

She doesn't even try to wring something out of us in return, a small gesture or something. No. Just digging in her heels and saying "I'm in charge here."

To which I say:

So, if you think Pol An Ning will say no, what's the actual plan to get back at Xue? Because I just know she'll count it as a win if we leave without her.

Ignoring Xue from this point forward is actually how we best snub her. Our goal here isn't to recruit Pol Ning, so if the girl doesn't take our offer then that's on her.

I'm poking her pride by flat out ignoring her objection that we can only send an envoy in 3 days.
We are saying that she is too unimportant to bother listening to.

Doesn't matter what Pol Ning does.

Also implicitly stating that the idea of having to interact with her in the future in any official capacity offends us on a core level.
