I believe the idea is that the content (information on the Civil War) will be of most immediate use the sooner it is published. It might be "Timeless" in terms of us recalling it, but it's more applicable the sooner the Empire has access to it.
Yes, but we already relayed pertinent information to Algard, and he has made big moves based on it.

The whole Conspiracy thing is a balancing act of not letting Skaven run rampant while also not threatening them too much. The odds that some trivial minutiae in the correspondence will trigger another large scale action like the simultaneous siege of two enormous warrens is unlikely at best.

Meanwhile, Eshin Sorcerers aren't even certain to exist, much less have someone with this good wind sight and understanding of ulgu calmly witness their extremely secretive Lore of magic.

Well make the vote. I'll add it to my approval.

Wait, why instead of the wildly exotic Eshin Sorcerer casting paper, which is only fresh now, we are doing a Timeless one?
We could probably use this paper as an example to show the Grey college that we can already translate some Queekish but not all of it. Hopefully this translates to willingness to allow us access to some of the Skaven writings they or the colleges have. With that access there is a chance that we could find Queekish magical vocabulary. Probably the only way we will get the missing lexicon.

@ichypa Three plans that include Waystone lessons.

[] Spoken Queekish + Waystones /w no Overwork (Rafin-QWayNo)

[] Spoken Queekish + Wolf & Waystones with Overwork (Rafin-QWWYes)

[] Spoken Queekish + AV & Waystones with Overwork (Rafin-QAWYes)

Though I don't think it matters with how near the deadline is.

Edit: I also have the Eshin Sorcerer paper in all nine of my plans.

I wished to do the Eshin sorcerer paper, but the Inter-Eshin correspondence might be time sensitive and involve other nations. While Algard has already played his hand, the intel may uncover opportunities other can exploit.

It could be written is as either Duckling or EIC.

Would this be an acceptable write-in:

[ ] DUCK: Offer Gretel a job within the EIC as your right-hand woman within the company and the chief-handler for intelligence matters of the EIC.

Why would she be interested? She is already set for life and has never shown an interest in data mining.

She is a known quantity with motivations of wealth, our favourite duckling, has very good intrigue skills that can be brought to the table.

We don't know whether her motivations is enough wealth, or whether she'd always welcome the opportunity acquire more wealth, but the opportunity to be Mathilde's right-hand woman within a rapidly growing company may well be a very tempting one if Gretel's motivation is not so much sufficient wealth, but the thrill of making wealth. Since she's looking for something to do, and is sure that something would show up eventually, we are in the position to make ourselves in our identity as EIC owner that something that shows up.

She doesn't increase the writing tax because she is already in the plot, and therefore would be simply shifted over to the EIC segment of the plot were she to accept, which means the impact of shifting her status on update time is likely not significant because she already is a participant in the story. It would not hurt to make the offer, and if it works, we have a clearly capable and intrigue competent individual whom Mathilde likes as a person to help Mathilde with EIC matters, which I think is only going to be a positive for Mathilde's social life as a whole.

She isn't going anywhere anytime soon, the Amethyst College isn't going to interfere in her affairs so long as she keeps to the articles of magic, and bringing her into Mathilde's further "confidence" I think only emphasizes the latent ideas Mathilde potentially may have that the Colleges are strongest working together in concert. She doesn't carry the same baggage as a Grey Journeyman since she's not bound by an oath of poverty, furthers the fiction about Mathilde that BoneyM noted makes Mathilde's ownership unobjectionable by EIC's business partners, by Mathilde employing a profit-driven right-hand woman.

She is a good fighter, so it doesn't hurt for her to be close to our side and under our employ via the EIC. She may well be happy to take up a new challenge to occupy herself after the Eight Peaks, especially if she's waiting for a new challenge to emerge.

Again, until we ask, we don't know, but if we can get her into the EIC as our Right-hand woman, alot of interesting narrative possibilities emerge. BoneyM has ruled that Gretel can be a suitable candidate for the position, which means the possibility is open. Moreover, we don't need to pay her in favor, monetary compensation suffices. Just because she has not shown an interest in data-mining, doesn't mean she won't jump at the opportunity to work for one of the fastest-growing firms on the planet as the literal right hand of the 30% owner of the EIC.

Here it is:

[X] Plan: Spoken Queekish v4 with Better Max and Better Paper
-[X] Contains one Overwork action
-[X][MAX] Write a paper: Translated text on Chaos Dwarf anatomy (TIMELESS)
-[X][JOHANN] Study an artefact: Unknown black gem, stolen from the Skaven.
-[X][DUCK] Johann's investigation into the ratling gun has hit a wall. See if you can help
-[X][EIC] Put policies in place that local news should be collected and sent to you (rumour mill).
-[X] Seek to build a stronger rapport with Qrech, and provide enough sources of mental stimulation that you can turn your attention elsewhere.
-[X] Try to convince him outright to teach you spoken Queekish.
--[X] Deceiver: Continue with the Gambit that teaching you Queekish continues to cause discontent in the Grey Order and of course the Grey Order itself already has Queekish...
-[X] Travel to the Grey College and attend lessons there: Waystones and Waystone maintenance
-[X][AV] Investigate the exact circumstances required to induce a transformation.
-[X] Wolf is fully grown and a Very Good Boy. Train him. (increases his intelligence, he may learn to speak Praestantia)
-[X][PENTHOUSE] Have a gyrocopter landing pad built into your balcony.
-[X][SERENITY] Brief observations on Eshin Sorcery (FRESH)
-[X][COIN] The Deceiver: Skaven Gambit

Eshin Sorcery is perhaps the most guarded lore in clan Eshin. The sheer existence of Eshin Sorcerers isn't considered a certain thing.

Given the brief but through glimpse we got, we should really make use of the +10 from FRESH here.

We already passed all relevant information from reading the correspondence. Hoping minutiae would trigger another enormous move after the strain the Cospiracy took from two large scale sieges is just not worth it, when it's costing us the Sorcerer paper.

And, approval voting the closest plan to it:
[X] Plan: Spoken Queekish v4 with Better Max

I expect that it probably a must on next turn plans, up there with Powerstones.
Next turn our paper-writing capacity will be full on dictionaries if we aren't doing that this turn, but the turn afterwards we will have saved a personal action that we can use to dictate two papers to Max and the Sorcerer paper will not yet have decayed to -10. If we still want to do that then, that would be the time.

And yeah, I think that it is very useful for the Greys to have information about the Skaven civil war ASAP; even if it doesn't lead to a new wave of raids, it helps them understand how Clan Eshin's intelligence analysis works, which is very useful for the Conspiracy of Silence. Understanding how your enemy thinks, what their priorities are, and what data they care about is really good for long-running spy-vs-spy hijinks.
[X] Plan: Spoken Queekish v4 with Better Max and Better Paper
I'll trade you approval vote for approval vote? I don't want Max's action to get wasted, so I want one of these plans to win.

Pretty sure the average Asur commoner would not be expected to be on their fifth or sixth child once they reach the equivalent of Mathilde's age, so I'd say they are still batter than the Imperials in this matter.

On a sillier note, how egalitarian are the Chaos Tribes? They seem to be mostly under the thumb of the Chaos Gods, who are either indifferent to gender or aggressively indifferent in Slaneesh's case, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were better on this particular aspect than you'd expect.
I'll be honest, I don't really care if the people who are going to skin me alive and tourture my soul for eternity are gender equalists who will also skin alive and torture for eternity a woman to the same degree.

Seems like a really fucking arbitrary thing to start focusing on gender equality at that time.

Thought process:

1) Mathilde has Windherder and Windsage. She has also demonstrated the ability to no-sell other people's miscasts.

2) Aethyric Vitae is a (somewhat) stable mix of all eight winds in equal amounts in liquid form.
2b) AV destabilises if more of one type of wind is introduced.

3) The Collages consider it theoretically possible that High Magic can be achieved by having eight wizards synchronously cast the spell. However the danger represented by having eight simultaneous miscasts makes the technique impractical to explore.

4) At least some of the winds have a liquid intermediate phase between wind and power stone.

Hypothesis:
It may be possible to create more AV by channelling equal amounts of the eight winds into a small space, possibly utilising the techniques involved in power stone creation.

Proposal:
Have eight Wizards, one from each College and not including Mathilde, channel tiny amounts of magic into the same place. Have Mathilde on hand both to observe and to ground out miscasts.

@BoneyM
Can we try this to see, or is it under the heading of 'Mathilde thinks it is suicidal'?

We are going to want to publish our AV paper first to reassure people that we are not insane and are working with a good theory.
