Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

To be fair, cultivators can only get insights from arts that are compatible with their way - it's possible that TRF isn't compatible with Xiulan's way anymore for some reason and would in fact be of no help. Whether said possibility is the case is a mystery, but handing TRF over doesn't guarantee she'd get an insight at all let alone the specific insight we want LanLan to get.
No one's pretending its guaranteed either way

That doesnt mean it's not worth making the gesture regardless

Nevermind the other problems giving her TRF runs across, where the hell is Lan Lan gonna cultivate wood qi in the blasted shitscape that is Golden Fields?

Ummm with her clan most likely, if she actually chooses to do it? I mean, the Gu are a pretty established clan, they are going to have some wood arts/means of cultivating them. The care package we got from the Cai(really the Bai) has a focus on water, darkness and lake sure. But it also had a bunch of other elements as well. It's the good part of being part of an old and established clan.

[X] Send Mother, Biyu and the rest of the household away until things settled down. It might cost her, but she could settle her family in a barony a little further north, away from incursions. (-3 Green Stones, small political effort required, safe family, potential emotional conflict?)

Angst! Drama! Brooding!

You make a compelling argument.

There gonna be a lot of good sites for her to utilize in Golden Fields? Lotta lush green old growth forests to help fuel her assimilations of the lessons of Thousand Ring Fortress? Or any other theoretical wood arts?

Your ability to be condescending is pretty impressive. Congratulations.

Hilariously, it just makes it clear that you didn't really read what I said. Sure, wood isn't going to be a focus of the Gu no matter what. But I refuse to believe an old clan like that doesn't have drugs/arts/locations to solve the problem. Of fucking course they are going to be better with fire, metal, heaven, and most likely earth. But they aren't going to be helpless to help cultivate wood. And locations don't always need goddamn trees to be good for wood. Try to think

[X] Drop the thought, even with this incursion, they had been safe. Increase the security of the house, but let her family stay here. (-2 Green Stones, family remains in unsafe area)

Fun fact there are types of trees which require ashen ground, and to actually be burned in order to grow to full potential. Not sure if they exist in story or in gf for that matter.

It's not just ash. The place is full of sun and death qi. I dont think much, if anything, will grow there.

Although, IIRC, there is at least one Fief in the province that was saved from the sun nuke. The clans elder had basically hidden the fiefs land inside himself and died tanking the damage.

The Gu can't get people past indigo regularly using the inherited arts honed over thousands of years. You think they're gonna have this amazing side board in their back pocket?

Did... did I hear ash being mentioned?

Shhhhhh go back to sleep.

Okay I'll continue😊. I never said anything about amazing. I never said anything about their ability to level up their cultivators. I never said anything about having anything in their back pocket. What I said was that an older clan is not helpless at assisting a g2 girl (high ranked) level a g2 wood art. No matter what, wood is never going to be the focus of her build. But I refuse to believe that they can't get her the right drugs and or have a place for wood cultivation. It's absurd that you think it's such a stretch. Behind me where three people who have usable options and your respond was to one of them, and to pretend that they wouldn't have their older wood arts because of the need to focus on fire. Again, they are an old clan. The amount of underestimation you have towards them is incredible.

Edit: also I can't believe I forgot...they want to rejuvenate their land. You know what helps? Wood, water and probably earth. So yes, it's even more likely that they have shit in place for that.

If Lan combines fire or celestial with earth/sand she could get glass. Maybe that could give her a better perspective on her own fragility. Everyone says she's a glass canon already.
