Depending on what is stymieing Johann about the ratling cannon, Adela might be an able assistant, what with her knowledge of mechanics. That is if he's allowed to share what he's doing with a journeyman of another college.

Thinking about it, Mathilde could really do with learning how to educate people if we want to get better at working with new ducklings - and books on that would also help with The We.

By the way, when it comes to fuck dragon spells, Purple Sun would probably be the superior option.

I am not sure I like the idea of us having a multi-use deathnuke narratively, though.

Since a dragon is a single target I'm not entirely sure AoE spell are great at killing them, so wouldn't spells such as Uranons Thunderbolt, Arcane Unforging, Tempest (actually this one would be really good at dragon killing imo), Amber Spear and other single target battle Magic's be better?

Haven't caught up, but I just realized the implications of this. The head Sigmarite went and complained that a dwarf hold was getting weapons to defend itself instead of those weapons being used to intimidate other humans. Truly the worst head of the worst church.

Hell if I know. I never played the wargame. I did encounter a lot of whining about purple sun being op and slaying characters left and right, so I figured if it is good against characters, it should work against dragons.

Fair. I've only played the Total War game so my experience with dragons is that spells usually aren't too helpful at killing them, and artillery is very good at hitting large targets. Especially luminarks and cannons

Honestly, I believe that if and when some hammerpriest decides to hammer the Theogonist's skull, all the witnesses will be happy to confirm that he died of natural causes.

Because hammer to skull seems like a natural consequence of his behaviour.

Vortex spells are typically fluffed as being absolute instant death for anything that did not manage to dodge.

Such is the nature of the weaponized dimension shift quite a few of the vortex spells are.

In TWW vortex spelss sucks against anything that is not a mass of infantry, but fluff honestly does not support anyone being able to stand under purple sun of xerxes for the full duration of the spell and take only ping damage as a result. Dragon, ballista, warriors of chaos, Tyrion, whatever, vortex spell does not care.

You know I'm kinda curious. I know there have been mentions of getting bound battle Magic's but that makes me think how exactly would it happen? We know that getting battle magic is a trial in of itself and outside of Battle Wizards, Wizard Lords and Patriarchs there probably aren't more than a dozen magister that know more than one piece of battle magic. And IIRC you need to know the spell in order to enchant it into an item along with a pretty high enchanting level. So what I'm wondering is are there that many high level enchanters that know battle magic that we can just request an item of bound battle magic, yet the Grey College is short a staff maker?
