[X] You are a faithful of Ranald, being in the right place at the right time to unbalance the scales. Try to steal the energies.
The Mork option I think is about getting very specifically in tune with Orkoid psychology and the primitive destructiveness they get about. Its becoming the locus for a God that isn't our own and all the attendant affects of that.
Yeah a bit of the same for me.The Mork option sounds like the real munchkin template-stacking option tbh. I'd vote for that if I wanted to be an Orc Wizard Knight Priest Shaman Necromancer or somesuch wackiness.
It's deciding to take our knowledge of magic and use it to the best of our ability to solve the problem, from the perspective of character development I consider it the working towards Lord-Magister option. The Teclis/Colleges vote is legitimately sad to me, it feels like Stockholm Syndrome. Teclis did not care about us, even in the abstract, he handed the barbarians a few scraps of lore so they would better be able to gunk up the gears of Chaos with their blood, the Empire which the Colleges serve cares about us even less with most of its inhabitants holding us in open contempt even as it spends the lives of mages in its wars. The way I see if in terms of Mathilde's character the options that actually define a positive interaction are Ranald who came through for us time and again and the Dwarfs who honored her as a skilled craftsman and ally.
Wrong deity my friend.
I mean, we're dealing with Waaagh power here.Way I see it, if Ranald goes bad it goes really bad and he can't help us and he loses and we lose his blessing as he retreats for a time. We may or may not be able to gain it again, and then it likely goes to the fail state of the human option which is mutative or harmful effects. Such as having our head explode or our face becoming a goblins or just I dunno. Turning into a Squig.
... Don't tempt me before I've formally made my vote like that. The Mork option sounds like the real munchkin template-stacking option tbh. I'd vote for that if I wanted to be an Orc Wizard Knight Priest Shaman Necromancer or somesuch wackiness.
Granted, if its nuking the belt it probably won't nuke us. On the other tiny wizard lady hand, I'm not sure how Kragg would react to that, probably down to how well Mathilde can smooth talk him(so a second roll later on possibly?)[X] You are a faithful of Ranald, being in the right place at the right time to unbalance the scales. Try to steal the energies.
It's either this or the dwarf option and that might nuke our belt, so I am going with this.
Honestly, the only reason I'm willing to vote Ranald, is because it is Ranald.
I wouldn't dare try this for a different diety's benefit.
But, if one of the God of Thieves and Gamblers faithful cannot pull this off, then who could?
[X] You are Dwarf-friend and you bear upon your person a masterpiece developed by the oldest and wisest Runepriest of the Karaz Ankor. Try to destroy the energies.
Never forget, the Gods are fickle, and none so more than the literal God of Gambling. This can go wrong in many, many horrible ways. So I'll vote for a more 'boring' option, but one I find less risky than trying to steal powers from an Orc god.
Ranald is the professional here, he's done this before. When your back is to the wall, when skill isn't enough, when you're alone but for the roll of the dice.We need good reasoning more than greed. Please, tell me you at least have reasoning and thought and not just ambition if you vote for Ranald, that's all I ask.
It's deciding to take our knowledge of magic and use it to the best of our ability to solve the problem, from the perspective of character development I consider it the working towards Lord-Magister option.
What are they?my only worry with the ranald option is that itll give us a Divine Mark of Ranald (Tome of Salvation p 244) and most of those suck.
To be fair, this is WFRP 2e, in which no one is allowed to be good or have a good day, so its par for the course...
I honestly kinda doubt its enough to change him, but given he ascended by literally stealing divine power in the first place I'm not that worried.[X] You are the justice of Mork, delivering swift death upon the heresy of Only Gork. Try to accept the energies.
Because gosh darn it, someone should vote for it.
Also, have y'all considered that sending Ranald a flood of Gork Energy might well change the guy? Human gods are malleable. I feel like this might end up skewing him to Ranald the Protector over Ranald the Gambler, or create a new face of the god, or something.
Most of them are neutral to good. I'd only say three of them are outright bad.my only worry with the ranald option is that itll give us a Divine Mark of Ranald (Tome of Salvation p 244) and most of those suck.
Ooo thankie! To be fair, this is WFRP 2e, in which no one is allowed to be good or have a good day, so its par for the course...
But geez GW couldnt you give our catboy some better stuff?
I don't think anyone is going to give it to Ranald for the shinies. We give it to him because he got our backs in a lot of bullshit times and because we've been ridiculously lucky.[X] You are a Magister of the Grey Order, and follow the traditions laid down by Teclis and Magnus the Pious. Try to ground the energies.
Because I think this is the safest, and most feasible option. These traditions and methods exist for a reason after all, and just going "Give it to Ranald for the shinies" isn't very appealing to me. I like the idea of being a bad-ass professional Grey Wizard more than a priest of Ranald.
