Wait. A gathering of Archfiends in the City of Brass? I am interested and so, so terrified. @DragonParadox, does Amala the Upasunda know how many and what kind? Does she know their names? Not for summoning, obviously, but you don't reach CR 20 and stay a nobody.
It's later mentioned there where 3 Asurenda in the CoB, we killed one already.

Nice. Two to go. We'll no doubt end up facing them eventually given that they're parked in the city we intend to destroy.

I think we should try to gun for those Asurendas if we can, if only so we can bleed Brazen Trone of allies.

We can probably even manage them if we get a True Name, Snare+Viserys+Lya=bullshit.
We could, but it certainly isn't something we should do lightly, especially since Asurendras are a special brand of bullshit. We got lucky because this one happened to be mundane. They have the ability to specialize into some very annoying abilities.

@DragonParadox, can we get the XP for the Efreeti Raid?

  1. I'll have the XP next update
  2. It's the two remaining asurendra in addition to whoever's organizing the div creation process on the Efreeti's side.
Speaking of the City of Brass I'd like to do a voting interlude there next but I need a few more votes on the current matter.

On a side note, @DragonParadox, can we please assume we followed standard looting protocol and managed to loot all of the Asurendra's blood?

With that we will have the blood of the Aspect of Mammon, the blood of the Maharaja Rakshasa, and the blood of the Asurendra Asura. Three different kinds of Archfiends, with gallons of pure blood from each.

Weirdly enough all LE.
Maybe Azel's rivals that he directed in our path to get killed?

I would not say galons , most of the blood is still in the body, but yes you scooped up the blood too.

It was a Large body. It's not unreasonable for us to have gotten gallons.
Why argue, the less blood it bled, the more blood is still in the body, considering we have the body, it's really no difference whether the blood is inside or outside the body.

If we want more blood we just tap it from the body, taking too much might lower its worth for other purposes, but that would be the case if it had lost it before dead too.

I can see it now, but I don't get it.
Chameleon is limited to 6th level spells, Factotum to 7ths, where the hell do the 9th come from?
Pure unadulterated cheese.
Basically with Residual Magic (requires you be level 9 and have maxxed Spellcraft, too), Heighten Spell and Sanctum Spell, you can take Extra Slot to get 9ths.

I mean, I would take this build even if ROB rejected that cheese (it has a strong chassis, a lot of skills, and Chameleon is great for Gishes around level 10), but if I have the option to burn 6 feats to get a few 9ths at low CL, I will take it.

I'm also a bit confused that Mind Blank is ninth level in there, @TalonofAnathrax.
I thought you could use a higher-level slot to cast a lower-level spell? Or is that only for Sorcerers?
In any case one of those 9ths is from the floating feat, so I could always just cast it from a level 8 slot.
Or I could cast a Heightened Mind Blank. Whatever, it works.

In any case, even without the cheese to get 9ths, this is a build with a decent chassis (Divine Power can help with the BaB, buffs and items can help with AC), very good utility and skills, and also great magic item crafting if needed. Honestly, it can do basically everything with a little forewarning. Even trapfinding!
And the next few levels will all be significant power boosts. Sure it'll lag a little behind full casters at high level, but it's something I'd be fine living with.
Breadth, not depth.

Of course it isn't optimized to the fullest. I could have dipped Focused Specialist Abrupt Jaunt Conjurer Wizard, Beguiler, and Cleric instead of these much weaker classes. But I wanted to stick to the "Chameleon sworn to Viserys" theme, you see. No other spellcasting, varied abilities that are all skillmonkeys or dragon-related...

I can see it now, you can cast spells that technically count as 10th level spells, so you can get 9th level extra-slots.
I think that's terrible and should not be allowed.
But for our world here my opinion doesn't matter, DPs does. And he already ruled way back in Braavos that a Metamagiced Fireball does not count as a higher spell for the purpose of Fiery Burst, so I doubt this would be allowed either.

Also keep in mind that you can level further, does this build scale well?

Why settle for asurendas when there are perfectly useful asuara ranas out there for the taking? :V

Btw, I had a dream that we broke out of the primeval pact by finding a loophole that souls could only be collected on the justification that Baator could make then into more effective soldiers for the blood war, but our own forces had exceeded the average strength of what could be expected out of a recently formed devil.
It won't work like that outside my dreams, but I do hope the day comes when we can outlawyer Asmodeus.

Unfortunately we later got fucked when we fed an artifact of Sseth to Yss and it gained control of it's avatar, but we managed to defeat it and Yss was about to consume the Divine essence of his enemy when I woke up.

So, a little off topic, but all of this talk about interplanetary stuff and visiting the moon got me thinking. How do you suppose the Moonsingers, and their goddess, would react to us setting up a temple complex for them on the moon and setting the teleport circle in their SD temple (possibly the moon pool itself) ?

Following naturally from that, supposing we actually pull it off, what if Viserys and Lya hold get married on the moon? Hell, we might be able to get the Moonsinger's goddess to officiate the ceremony herself in exchange for the prestige gain from being the only moon deity with a lunar temple.

If we transmit the ceremony via mirror we might be able to short out Essos's bullshit meter. The additional competition for the various shitty gods would also be a plus.

Btw, can someone remind me what the insect God head thingy was? How did it fit with our current knowledge of cosmology? Was it related to Lolth or was it something else?

Alright, here's my tenative proposition for 11th month...

Research Actions:
(full list - here)
[] The Secret of Life and Death: Analyze the lore obtained from Lord Bolton and Qyburn and see to bring the efforts made by the ex-maester to their conclusion, creating undead creatures that neither spread decay, nor need the constant attention of a skilled mage. (Progress 20/25, Cost 30,000 IM)
Researcher: Qyburn.
[] The Godhunter: The fortress-ruin that held the Orb of Dragonkind still holds leashed power unlike anything you've ever sensed, but it remains dormant for now. With time, it might be possible to reconstruct the controls of that power, and with proper preparation use it as a weapon to slice away part of a god. (Progress: 14/16)
Researcher: Valeria Wondersmith.
[] Iron-bound Tome (Demon-caller's Spellbook): A book with covers wrought of thin sheets of black pitted iron marked with the sign of Abraxas. Though there is no lock binding the pages, the tome refuses to open. Even if with all the strength of your dragon-blooded form it feels like you are trying to move a mountain with your bare hands. (Progress: 6/8)
Researcher: Volantine Mysterium/Scholarum Branch.
[] Weaving Deepest Veils: Research the lore promised by Fey of Orphne court, wards capable of evading even a god's eye... even if not a perfect defense all by themselves. (Progress: ??/18 Cost: 11,000 IM)
Researcher: Tyroshi Scholarum branch and Naria Loreseeker OR Lya if several bodies are ready and allow for that and the "A Dragon Chained" to be done at the same time.
[] The Final Contravention: With how far you have come, and how many you broke off from Hells' leash, perhaps you can go around the Pact Primeval in a way none before you had - and utilise the Lawful nature of all Devils to create a Ritual that would be capable of severing their connection to Hells regardless of their exact kind, or strength. (Progress: 30, Cost: 20.000 IM)
Researcher: Sorcerer's Deep Scholarum Branch and Mercy of the Soul.
[] A Dragon Chained: With Runelore of First Men, and secrets of Shadow Fey Wardings, it may be possible to close on the last hole in the trap you are laying out for Tiamat.
-[] Utilise the corpse of Tiamat's aspect to create a foci, that someone with sufficient skill could use to fight off Tiamat's "Dragon" Divine Domain, holding the power she exerts in check... even if for a short while.
(Progress: 12, Cost: ??)
Researcher: Dany and Lya.
[] Safety in Numbers: The Hell-forged talismans you recovered from slavers in Gogoss may jsut be the answer to the problem of protecting the soldiers of your Legions, or at least one not excessively expensive-
-[] Research a way for (earlier created) Valyrian Steel Banners be made into capactitors for spell Protection From Evil, covering hundreds of Legion members at a time.
(Progress: 35, Cost: 45000)
Researcher: Svitran, Velen, Mantarys Scholarum branch
[] That Which Stands Forbidden: search through Scrolls of Forbidden Lore recovered in Lyceos (Spellscale, Draconian, and Kobold templates) (Progress: 8)
Researcher: Lady Saenna

Intrigue:
[] "Name pending": Continue on infiltrating the ranks of Golden Company in Yi TI, ensuring they'll have no spies or hideaway unknown to us by the time we choose to stike at them, all while scrupulously divining everything possible.
Assets: Tyene, Nuri, Azema, Orphne Feylord
(Reasoning: I trust the Feylord to be able to run circles around GCs without being noticed, Azema can do her job well enough, and Nuri is the main plant we have there, while Tyene is both a firepower provider, and capable of being very sneaky).
"Name Pending 2: "Fuck Slavers' Bay"-boogaloo": Send your people into Slavers' Bay in order to hamper the efforts of Cult of Asmodeus as much as possible, lookng into it's roots and wreaking their plans (including those of turning Spear Goddess into servant of Hell through belief - look for priests not in pact with hells and help them), by any means necessary
Assets: Garin, Glyra and the Roaming Chaos, Kira Windgraced, Tuin and Morwyn (Drow Assasin brothers),
(Reasoning: We need to intervene there, but we can't do it via military yet. So, Intrigue-spam seems the way to slow Asmodeus down)
"Name Pending 3: Golden Company's Revengeance": Look into the forces of Golden Company - learning the numbers, location, and general layout of their main force beyond the outdated data provided by Varys.
Assets: Aradia the Huntress, Mereth and Erynies, Construct Ravens.
(Reasoning: We just need relevant data on numbers and force-composition, not great secrets. I think they can do that well enough..?)
"Name Pending 4, I'm tired of this": Look into the Shadow Fotress of Tiamat upon the Shadow Plane - aquire plans of it and the teritory around it
Assets: Anu, Shadow Tor
(Reasoning: Anu helped make that fortress, and Shadow!Tor was made to find us a way in. Now it's time for us to utilise them both to get detailed plan around the defenses GC and Timmie set there).

ADVENTURE!:
(post with all the avaliable locations - here)
[] A Fire, snuffed out: With Volantis having sworn to you, perhaps it's time to openly close down a threat that persisted in the city ever since your first visit. Break into Ymeri's mansion, and clear out all of her remaining influence - with the mansion itself, if needed.
Assets: Viserys, Zherys, ??
[] The Hagswood: Found about a day's ride south of Pinkmaiden Keep this dreary stretch of woods was according to local legend the site of amass hanging of either and outlaw band or a peaceful village, depending on who is telling the story. Of late some of the darker denizens of the of the Feywyld have been drawn there, by the lingering miasma of death and decay amid the stagnant waters, earning the woods a new name and far more travelers seeking it on secret midnight journeys. Many do not return and of those who do none are unchanged.
Likely Foes: Green and Anis Hags
CR: 8-9
Assets: Misfits and Thoros
[] Into the City of Glass: Having established the economic relationship with two other Genie Empires, perhaps it's time to visit Marids as well – not to mention, that they once succeeded in driving out Mind-Eaters, and Marid mercenaries may prove invaluable in future conflicts with them. (Opposition: ??; Rewards: ??)
Assets: Relath, Viserys, ??
[] The Lost Beastbreaker: The famous Beastbreaker of Lorath went looking for more exotic beasts Beyond the Wall a year ago… and has not returned. With the rumors of his proficiency at flesh-crafting and creating new life-forms, it is perhaps important to learn what happened to him… and deny him to Winter if possible. (Opposition: ??; Rewards: ??)
Vee, ??
[] The Court of Goldengrove: A Driad queen resides in Rowan's Nest, guarding an entrance to Feywild – and alongside her a Court of nymphs and satyrs. Go there, and learn more of what place they seek in this world of returning magic – if they can be trusted, or relied upon with deals fairly made (Opposition: ?? Wylkfae, A Driad Queen, Satyrs, Nymphs; Rewards: ??).
Assets: Viserys, Soft Strider, ??
[] The Barrow of the First King: Generally speaking most ancient barrows of the First Men are conveniently out of the way that the intrepid explorer does not have to disturb more than the odd flock of sheep to enter them, unfortunately the largest and most famed in all the North happens to have a town on top, Barrowtown where the living laugh, sing, weep and sigh above the bones of the ancient dead. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the tales of riches and magic found in other tombs the people of Barrowton have in recent weeks begun digging down, the ancient entrances having long since been forgotten and built over.
Strangely enough rather than the vengeful dead their desecration seems to have drawn the attention of twisted and malicious fey, perhaps the last of the barrow's ancient guardians, for he whose bones lie at the heart of the ancient complex was once beloved of the land spirits.
However rather than avenging themselves upon those who would disturb the tomb the fey have taken to tormenting the weakest and most vulnerable of the locals, beggars, urchins and petty thieves, beneath the notice of Lady Dustin if not Bloodraven. The ancient Sorcerer explained that if you do not end help he likely will likely in the form of Dannar and Alyssa, before some fool actually does manage to disturb the tomb and its wrthful king.
Likely Foes: Tooth Fairy, Lamp Blighter, Redcap (Malicious fey) and Undead (Barrow)
CR: 6-8 (Malicious fey) and 10-12 (Barrow proper)
Assets: Xor, Sandor Danar and Alyssa Crowl.
[] Capping off a Danger: Cleaned out as most of darker WylkFae have been by Faith and the clansmen, some still escaped. Hunt down the dangerous Redcap murdering travelers, now moved to kingswood in search for more prey. (Opposition: ??, Redcaps; Rewards: ??)

[] A Darker Kind of Fey: Deal with various Fey of Court of Stars proving a danger to people of Westeros:
-[] Swift Eye, a Quickling who haunts the outskirts of Oldtown alongside his troupe has been known to deal with Deep Ones. On the other hand he has helped the Lantern Bearers as much if not more. His greed seems to be the great constant of his being. Due to his loyalty to the court he has been left in peace, though it has been foretold that he will meet an unfortunate end soon at the hands of Deep One agents. He is counted among the Gold faction.
-[] Jagged Knife, a Redcap whose court has set up on the edge of the Rainwood ambushing travelers, particularly families with young children whom he torments with dreadful choices trading lives until they go mad. He is only nominally part of the Court of Stars. Crimson Lotus suspects he gained that position by some manner of blackmail. Killing him might actually gain favor with his supposed patron of the Indigo, if one can stomach working with a being who tacitly allowed such monstrous deeds.
Assets: Lots of minor PCs we have, can't know quite well which, @Goldfish would judge better.
[] The mystery of Hardhome: The only true city of the Free Folk, it supposedly fell to Essosi raiders, though what manner of raiders would bother to make flames that could be seen as far as the Wall? The birds that are Bloodraven's eyes fly uneasily over the ruins of Hardhome, and one was even so overcome by fright it slipped the ancient Greenseer's control, to be found hours later. Still, whatever dwells still in the ruins of the town seems content to stay there, and so Bloodraven has not meddled while other more urgent tasks demand his attention. He advised caution if curiosity would drive you there. (Opposition: ??; Rewards: ??)
Assets: Melisande, Amrelath

@Crake, I'm horrible at discerning which provinces we can apply, and which we can't, in order to fuck with Asmodeus in Slavers' Bay. Feel free to add their Intrigue Actions on top, if any - we surely won't lack in opposition on that front.

@Goldfish, I would apprecaite help on better placing of people around the "Intrigue"-actions, I tried to assign people around that seemingly would fit the tasks... but I'm not sure if I've got nearly enough on things that aren't "Fuck you, Asmodeus!". And even there.

@Duesal, what was the name of Lady Saenna's Daughter, the one that, iirc, should be avaliable as a Researcher to us now?
Also, how many months did our grand-grand...-uncle, that Syrax' cleric--turned lich--turned alive-- ask from us after we returned him to life?
He wanted to rest for a while, but I can't find for how long :/

In general, I'm also not the person to ask for whom to send on "Adveture!"-actions, beyond vague guesses which I gave here.
I think those are kinda important to do still, there's certainly something brewing in Hardhome, asshole Fey make CoS' narrative stronger, the Beastbreaker may be a danger or an asset, and I'd rather not have Crowls dungeon-delve alone Beyond the Wall nowadays.

@everyone, please give feedback. This is basically turn-planning here, and even preliminary as it is, it's better to have some idea on what we'll be doing.

Could we get someone to poke at the Dornish portals? A portal that connects Dorne to Dorne in this day and age would cause more trouble than it solves.
But if we could sever the connection and then use the strands to connect Dorne to say, Yi-ti or Sallosh...
It's not urgent, but I want stable primer material-prime material portals and we have one to investigate.
