A dominating performance from Ling Qi. Against a nominal peer, who specializes in dueling, she took only one real wound, while he's on his last legs. It's clear that she will continue to rise.

I also appreciate the reminder to respect our opponents:

I'd like to say thanks to yrsillar for updating near-daily recently. This past week's updates have been questing at its best, polished and weighty, with choices of import and living characters. This fight was dynamic and even with minimal dialogue I could read Liang He and the Elder as persons—tangents to Ling Qi's story, but ones with their own arcs.

Also deepwood vitality is busted

That fight just screams we need more survivability.
 
Man, what a fucking fight. Loved it.

Additionally, that Call to Ending tech that we finished the fight with, to the point of the Elder stepping in and medivac-ing him to the healers, was B rank damage. If we had laid hands on him, that would've spiked up to A rank damage, the only one of our techniques that are capable of such things without boosting. If our peers think we're scary now, just wait.

And boooooiiiiii, this vote. I fully realize that the Zeqing SL is much more figuratively on fire at the moment, but I feel a pull towards the family vote. We really put that off in favor of cultivator stuff that can bring material rewards, but Zeqing did tell us that we should spend time with our kin. Just resolving our feelings on what family is first. But, again, the situation is kinda on-fire, and it's fairly time-sensitive.
 
Well, that was awesome. Really cool tech demos abounded. The parry was particularly interesting, as was his ability to cut through our mist somehow... (though I'm not sure how much that helped here, since we were mostly using it to buff ourselves, and that would probably serve more to protect from Elegy/Dissonance?)

We also had some fairly successful dodges there, despite his hit advantage... possibly an illustration of how good GCD can be in darkness? Hard to say.

The moving around of our art plan was... interesting. I assume that Mist was moved to the start because we could get it out faster than Aria + Echoes? And that we attacked directly with Aria + HR instead of doing Aria + Echoes in order to show us the effect Echoes has @yrsillar? Or is there something about how fast we can play certain songs in sequence that we're missing here?

I admit I'm kinda still mentally modelling everything under the old attack + instant + reaction system, so if there are nuances here that we're misreading it would be helpful to have them explained.
 
Damnit, I wish that we could take the family option and then the Zeqing option. The wording just screams that maybe the insights to family we get from Mom will help resolve the issues that Snow Mom has, but I'm not sure if we can delay solving Zeqing's hunger.
