-[x] Flavor: with our newfound mastery and robe, cast all we behold into wintery night, ending our foe with our frozen serenade.
-[x] Echoes (use Twilight Beauty to decrease light levels) and hopefully tag him with our coherent Sword -> Go on offense with Hoarfrost + continue using our domain weapon. If Liang He is tagged with HR, maybe also tag his spirit beast. Use CtE (non-touch) if sufficiently pressured. Defense priority: HRA > GCD > TRD; Deepwood only if there's a really big attack we need to block?). Sixiang spams dispels.

You know thinking about it, in terms of defence, we're actually in an elemental disadvantage, IF considering that applies. He's probably gonna use a melee fire art, then it burns our TRF then hit us (Fire > Wood). I wouldn't be surprised if his Phys Pen is decent enough to go past the armor.

Just kind of remembered the moment when we almost wrecked Dharitri with combination of HC & Zhen Bite (Ice & Fire vs Wood) compared to how Cui went against her.

Fire beat metal, not wood. Wood generate fire and is beaten by metal. And it was HC that hurt dharithri more than zhen bite.

Yep. Elemental interactions differ from common parlance, since Imperial Elemental Interactions are based on the Chinese elements (of which there are many versions).

I would prefer to hide FVM until we need to reveal it, using it to crush all underneath our bootheel.

[X] Fight defensively, in her more usual style, relying on her arts wearing him down

-[X] use the HR -> CtE combo as the main offense (use the distance CtE version at Very Close (40 meter) or closer range), SES to prevent dipels, TRF (mainly HRA) if we need to defend, Sixiang for dispels (offensive and defensive ones); try to win fast to minimize the drawback of fighting him + spirit beast

-[X] Layer her arts one on top of the other, establishing dominion over the battlefield. There is no rush to deal damage or drain Qi; instead, work to stack the fight in her favor, avoiding attacks that would cripple, dispelling effects that would debilitate, and all the while laying down her own arts.

So, time for a little discussion about Sects! Specifically Great Sects, their purpose, and what it means for our friend Li Suyin

Such is the Great Sect System. Answering directly to the Imperial Throne, these bastions train warriors and research arts as they always did, but now, they also serve the purpose as rallying points from which the Imperial Throne can reach out in times of need.
Quoted from the Bonus Chapter 5, about the Great Sects, on the Royal Road Website.

Now, there are three purposes for these Great Sects: 1) Train warriors; 2) research arts; 3) Rallying points of Imperial Power. I'm not going to discuss the 1st and the 3rd parts, and am going to primarily focus in on the "research arts" aspect.

Of the three purposes, the ability to research arts is most likely the lesser of the group. This is indicated by the heavy focus on martial supremacy in the outer sect which allows for 8 combat focused contestants to make it into the inner sect, but only allowing 8 members from a wide range of production specialties (i.e pill making, formation crafting, talisman crafting, ect). Additional evidence is provided by the ranking of the production students and the combat students, with the production students always having a lower rank than their equivalent placing combat brothers/sisters.

Despite this, research seems to still be a large part of the Sect's greater purpose, and a part that is constantly being used. We can see this with the great Sect Library, open to all of the students (who can reach a high enough ranking or pay a proper fee), as well as the lessons regarding meridian manipulation and the foundational aspects regarding art modification. Later, presumably, we will be able to attend lessons on art creation and the process by which arts are created and polished. Additionally, we have AFL, which seems to have been an experiment by an Elder.

All of this is nice and good, but it doesn't affect us all that much. We are leaving the Sect within 2 years which is a pitifully short time to work on researching and developing arts which might take large swaths of time to do properly. But it does affect Li Suyin. Li Suyin is almost guaranteed to stay here at the sect for at least 10 years to 1) work off the debt, and 2) get as much uncontested access to the Impure Cavern's as possible. Furthermore, I find it likely that she will stay longer in the sect given the sect's apparent support for her work as well as the readily available resources to continue her work.

Ultimately, the Sect will want to support her work in developing formations, pills, and possibly arts off of her research in the Impure Caverns because it is a relatively new area of research for the Sect. Depending on the results of this relatively new area of research, the products could be used by the sect to secure even greater sponsorship from the Imperial House or influential members in the Celestial Peaks. Should Li Suyin be able to leverage the Sect's connection to the Imperial House, her products could get even wider acknowledgment and recognition than simply the Emerald Sea.

All in all, Li Suyin is primed to make connections in the Imperial Government if she stays at the Sect and develops her products to their fullest potential. And the Sect would most likely encourage that because it will allow them to stand out from other Great Sects in the area, or in the Celestial Peaks, which will encourage more money sent to the Sect.
