I was assuming they would initiate hostilities anyway. Ending them non-lethally was the most diplomatic option that came to mind.I believe the point is if you initiate hostilities however brief without need it could sour relations and make selling them on say giving you their lore harder.

@Crake
Can we settle for a compromise?
Something that includes getting to her without fighting the whole clan, but not as little effect as a single Sending?
From DP's own words this is going to cost us diplomatically and limit the amount of lore we can bargain for....we rarely have displays of total domination and overwhelming power on personal scale these days.

People resent being made a fool of and feeling powerless.
Who would have guessed?
Anything but a Sending.Honestly we don't have to take care of this now. I am not convinced that this is urgent enough to take care of right now in the first place, hence doing no more than saying we'll see what's there to be seen. A reasonable enough offer.
No, it isn't. The Thenn's are a legitimately organized civilization with metal weapons and culture, not the stereotypical wildlings - and even then I seriously contest your statement that any interaction has to be initially violent. This isn't diplomacy, this isn't thought out, this is just half-assed showing off for no good reason.From our previous experiences first contact with Wildlings is always violent, if we can stop the violence without killing people or showing weakness, that's a good start for future negotiations.
This is diplomacy.
Name votes?
Dreaming that far North is propably more dangerous than than fighting a thousand wildlings while in our undergarments.Dear fuck... soo much stuff to be angry about and so little time...
[X] Let Dany take Mors and Viserys along for a dream visit to his daughter.
There. Proper meeting achieved without any if this hassle.
It could be an autocorrect issue, like when I used my Kindle.
Dany has enough Dream Weaver levels by now to punch straight through to her. The issues cropped up back when we were much lower leveled and had to actually travel the intervening distances.Dreaming that far North is propably more dangerous than than fighting a thousand wildlings while in our undergarments.
Not that that's a bad idea, but don't underestimate it.
