Looks like its up by 3 and at this point i dont see many new votes coming in. Welp lets hope the wall hold.

Sidenote: should we make it a mandatory for our cities to put cannons on their walls for defence?
Maybe once we refine them a bit. Right now they are a little too expensive to make. The experience we gained this turn should make developing wall version possible like how our cities have balistas on them already. Also the coal coke and blast furnace should make creating them easier as well.

No last turn I was more or less on your side. At first, I was wanting to withdraw immediately but like you said that would have been a mistake. Then I backed your plan to drop the mountain on them to buy time and kill a large number of troops. Now we need to pull back we have used up too much of our assets and need to rest and regroup.
I didn't remember how you changed your mind. My bad.

Eh, it depends on for how long the votes continue. Maybe we can get 1-2 votes per hour we wait or so. I don't think there is much chance of people changing sides at this point.

All our (big) cities are already fortified, adding cannons would just be common sense. Maybe Ballistas for the poorer ones (they should be cheaper, shouldn't they?). Could be a martial action after we up our steel production.

question: do you all think Ballistas can still be usefull once we have cannons, or should they be completely dropped?

I find it a bit sad to drop them just 5 years until we used them for the first time. And they were such an innovation too!

I dont ever really see us getting rid of ballistas for a while they are to useful right now and yes while cannons can out preform them ballistas are easier to make and move i imagine. Probably not until we perfect the cannons some more would we then get rid of them.

Ballistas are still useful they are faster and cheaper. They pack enough power to kill armored trolls and even the abominations of Sombra's army. They will remain since it is better to have them around than not later on as we continue to advance we will replace them but for now they are still useful.

Yep our cities have non-mobile versions that are bigger and stronger than the one the army takes with us. After we made them and installed them in the capital the rest of the cities starting adding them as defenses against the monsters and larger threats.

Hope this city has a few pointed south then.

So not to like to jinx it, but what's stopping Sombra boy from seeing the avalanche and negating the entire thing by spawning black gemstones from the side of the mountain and creating a tunnel above him that saves his entire force? He was able to grow heck off huge sized gemstones, wasn't he?

@Questor how many ballistas would the city have before we add our own?

well, an avalanche has A LOT of snow. Even if i want to retreat i don't actually believe he can stop ALL of it. I expect he'll protect only PART of his army, maybe half at most, probably less. I worry it won't be enough, not that Sombra will no-sell-it. Not unless he crits at least.

Unless, of course, we fail the roll HARD and the explosives just don't work.

The yakk clans' song, omake

Power always belongs to the strong.
Silk and softness can never last long.
Strength to rule and to conquer our mead.
In yakk clan you're strong or you're dead!

In peace we dance our night.
In raids we sing as we fight.
In darkness, war and in blight,
Strength and skill make yakk might

Weak are meat for the yakk clans.
Weak means death in the yakk clans.
Strong drink, strong women, strong beds
In yakk clans you're strong or you're dead!

If we do the run we dont bury them...
If you worry about necromancy it's VERY unlikely, as it's not an ability Sombra ever displayed (and it doesn't really fit with his shadow/crystal/mind control abilities)

If it's a matter of honor, we can come back later. The living matter more than the dead, and the cold will preserve the bodies

They are talking about the enemy army I think. Which doesn't matter unless we killed most if not all of the 15000 remaining our own forces would still be outmatched as they are right now.

So how close is the vote now? I'm kind of scared to call it, I'm afraid that once I do there will be a bunch of people suddenly showing up to add their votes. That and I'm not exactly comfortable calling a vote when there's only a one person difference.

Well, here is a tally for you.
