Can you tell us whether Viserys IC think Yraels warning about conquest, was a sign that he disapproved of us keeping Tyrosh, or simply a warning that we should not begin to conquer for conquests sake?

It's complicated. Yrael disapproves of the concentration of power in the hands of a single mortal with a known history of making deals with evil outsiders and an obvious desire to keep conquering, but he can't bring himself to act for some hypothetical 'greater good' before the actual good Viserys is doing. Thus he offered the warning you guys got.

@DragonParadox, can you give us word on Scribe's Binding? Have we even started looking for it yet?

You rolled again but did not find it

  • [X] Plan People Loot, Again
-[X] Briefly exit the Pendulum of Fate to prepare.
--[X] After renewing his social spells (Voice of the Dragon & Air of Nobility), if necessary, Viserys casts Ancestral Awakening to learn the Aura Sight and Dragoneye Rune spells, then uses Blood Wish to cast Greater Magic Aura on himself to hide the aura of all spells affecting him. He then uses his Greater Ribbon of Disguise to hide his glowing eyes caused by the Greater Magic Aura spell.
-[X] Once prepared, return to the Pendulum and seek out those willing to enter into a service contract of at least three years with an employer who cannot tell them where they will be living and working during that time until further arrangements have been made, though doing so should take no more than three to four weeks. Although we cannot reveal the location to them quite yet, we can promise that it will be an interesting change from their normal environments and that there will be plenty of opportunity for them to make the most of their skills, whether that means enchanting gear or slaying monsters.
--[X] Use Aura Sight to determine the Alignment of all prospective hires. Those with Neutral Evil, Chaotic Evil, or Chaotic Neutral Alignments will not be approached or offered a position, nor will any qualifying Efreeti, Marid, or other enemy species of Outsider.
--[X] While priority is placed on mages capable of crafting enchanted items, any willing mage, or even skilled non-spellcasters will be considered for employment. Comfortable accommodations for those who might wish to bring their families can easily be arranged.
--[X] Anyone who accepts the term of employment will be asked to allow us to place a Dragoneye Rune on them so that when the time comes to retrieve them we can easily and painlessly verify their identity. The rune will be removed once they have been settled into their new homes.
--[X] Ask Embra, using the full weight of her family name of the feels it appropriate, to vouch for our sincerity and trustworthiness should any potential hires prove concerned about our motives or the secrecy we are maintaining.

... @DragonParadox, just how unique is the knowledge we have in out library, compared to that of elemental planes?

I dare to think that if "very" is an answer, we can offer that as a part of payment.
As in "access to very unique lore and knowledge"

This sounds amazingly hilarious.

Also yeah that could be a problem with yrael. Since we're planning on concentrating literally all of the power.
We got the Erinye to agree to break her connection to Hell, without that connection she's not irredeemably evil, as we got told back in Braavos, redeeming full Fiends are work for gods, but redeeming beings like Alu Demons are possible with less extreme measures, and after her connection to Hell is broken, she will probably have as much ability to change as an Alu Demon has, that mean Yrael will relish being around her, because she's a potential redemption project, she has already taken the first step of her own free will, now he just has to gently guide her further.

We should invent the term: half-redemption and half-corruption.

They mean changing an evil or good outsider towards neutralness, respectively.

What I'm getting from the Archons is that so long as we keep doing public works and other such acts that help people on a large scale, it will sort of "justify" the conquering and power concentrations and such.

It seems like they will go down the predicted "not fully on board but willing to support us nonetheless".

BTW, we need more votes, folks. If you have a problem with my plan, make your own.

So it's not that he's inherently against conquering, it's that while he likes us he don't fully trust us, that's both a little sad and good news, seeing as that mean that if we keep being a good ruler, and don't go for conquering places that aren't hives of scum and villainy, then we can assuage that concern, far better than if he was inherently against conquering.

Hopefully the fact that we are peacefully negotiating with Braavos will work in our favor, seeing as it proves that while we have ambition, we aren't going to take places by the sword, unless they are places of great suffering, that need relief as quickly as possible.

Can't we see what is available first? We need some information before we can make offers. Class, level, item creation feats, etc.

I wanted to make things go a little faster but I guess that might be giving up too much player agency. Two part hiring it is.

Also since there aren't a lot of votes how about I do a Malarys interlude with the climax of his action instead of a debriefing? He and the others actually managed to find a level appropriate fight thanks to the idiocy of a particular Tyroshi magnate.

Yes, please!

I fully expect a trophy out of it, @DragonParadox. I hope you have a good picture. :p
