Fact Hunt skipped, because one is already ongoing, and all available ones won't give results until after DFRI goes public. Pilot Training is the only DF action where Diana's bonus can apply. Steeds rather than Phalanx, because I prefer striking more often to striking sometimes. Also, Engineering is already researching Steeds, so they get to be useful twice. I have no problem switching Our Powers Combined for any other option.

You might be asking, why I'm pushing for new pilots. Do you want a combining robot, or not? Because, the way I see it, Satsuma is too agressive to play a right elbow, better put her into a different, more suicidal agressive robot. This leaves Callaghan and Tellison. The latter is a leader, cool. The former is a veteran, of sorts, so there might or might not be friction if a "newbie" tries leadering him around. And besides, any self-respecting combining robot needs at least three pilots, as exemplified by Gekigangar III.

So I wanted to do a bit of a recap of who has what and all that:

The Westphalians have some sort of advanced chemicals, cloaking, shield tech, and massive amounts of funding. Also they may have AI's since they apparently knew about Morrison University. Maybe they hired Sheol to send one of his Kaiju to destroy it on the first place. Have ties to Kausen and Sheol.

Sheol has Kaiju Bio-Tech and likely some sort of Psychic technology that allows him to direct the Kaiju to attack specific targets as well as mysterious, likely alien, backers. Has ties to the Westphalians. Honestly am kinda worried that he'll make a plague or something when he realizes he's about to lose.

Mander has superconductive materials and what is basically a Bionicle. Are privately owned and funded as well as likely being supported by old blood if the pilots name is any indicator.

The Kausen have advanced weapons, alloys, anti-gravity and energy tech and are probably in the process of adapting variable configuration and force field tech. They also probably have some sort of Quantum Gate tech that is limited by size since they have to have some sort of FTL.

The Yukimura institute is the one faction whose tech we know next to nothing about, other than the fact that it's really advanced. I for one want to know what the Aeon Particle Theory consists of. Is it in some way connected to quantum tech? Maybe has some connection to the artifact Max found?

The EUDF(go team) has the most diverse tech base. We've got Psy-Tech, Kai-Tech, Variable Configuration, Combination, Anti-Gravity, AI's and Kausen Weapon/Energy/Material Tech.
Force Fields from Kausen and Chemicals from the Pilum(Maybe Warlord just really liked acid? Would explain a lot tbh) are in the works and we've got an Alien Artifact hanging out in the Cafeteria entrance about to drop down on Jessica like a Facehugger when she walks under it.
Really the only thing we're missing to be a true jack of all trades is Quantum Gates(Teleportation!), The Aeon Particle Theory(Also Teleportation?), a better understanding of whatever the hell kind of scientific principles the Alien Artifact(Magical Girl Transformation Jewel?) operates on and Modularity and Superconductivity(Unlimited Power!) on the level of the Valiant.

They're Voltes/Voltron. Super Electromagnetic Energy.
They should be exceptionally good at combining, and their mecha is in physics terms, basically a ferrofluid held together by electromagnetic fields, allowing immense versatility in form(though obviously, they have a fixed number of configurations because not all forms are combat viable). Essentially, as long as their reactor or batteries are working they are as strong on attack or defense as the power they can output.

The control schemes must be a goddamned nightmare though, and I can't imagine upkeep being easy(though battle damage should not be a big problem unless their reactor[probably superconducting fusion power] is broken). I'd bet their fighting style is relatively simplistic but making heavy use of their special moves.

These guys are PROBABLY the Mazingers. Exotic particle reactor allows an otherwise conventionally built unit to make use of normally inefficient systems made feasible with unlimited power reactors, which have a bigger problem with controlling the output. They can afford to make things heavier and still function well.

Meanwhile we're the SRX Team. We have this horrible kitbashed mass of exotic technologies stolen from literally everything and then banged together to make it work.
The good part is that we don't need the super geniuses to invent all this with irreplacable scientists and prototypes. The bad part is that its a horribly kitbashed piece of engineering running on conflicting principles and thus we're more likely to encounter field breakdowns or unforeseen complications, not to mention the possibility of enemies more familiar with certain tech elements exploiting those weaknesses.

Our strength is pretty much that no one enemy faction can predict our bullshit.
We sure as hell can't.

So is there background rolls going on for the Artifact every turn to decide if it manages to contact us? Cause I'm still waiting for one of our AI to pop up in our office wanting to introduce us to their new bestest friend.

I believe it was mentioned that after we go public, a bunch of Union politickers are going to try to poke their noses into our business and jostling for authority over us. So we want to get our most "questionable" projects started before people can whine about it.

"You want to give control of one of our most dangerous weapons to an experimentally made AI, are you MAD?! What if it turns against us?!"

"You want to encase our Soldiers and pilots in psychic Kaiju flesh, are you MAD?!"

Well, when they put it that way...
 
Dr. Rin Yukimura can best be described by Wallflower as tired. Two years of 'round the clock preparations against the next Kaiju attack is clearly taking its toll on the older man, but he's gamely hanging in there.
This is late, but it strikes me that we have some information about how the Kaiju work...and I don't think we've told the people who actually routinely fight the Kaiju. I wonder if we can organize some research sharing...

Air Defense Force - Let's be honest. Armistead just flat out confuses you. He doesn't support his own subordinate commands, he lets something as large as a Westphalian raiding party just drive past his territory, and he belittles your efforts every chance he gets.

Anna's given assurances that this is typical politicking behavior, but you want more assurances than that. Anna's game for it; send someone out to get a temperature check on the people under Armistead's command. This is also a great opportunity to see what others in the Air Defense Force are making out of the designs that have come from your people.

Energy Shard Processing – The lifeblood and currency of Kausen society apparently. It seems straightforward enough to Max: processed energy essentially scrunched into a tiny package. Human energy processing such as oil, gas and fusion power apparently translate quite nicely into Shards (which explains the constant raids from the Free Brothers). Max is confident she can replicate it, but the bigger question to her is how we can use it safely.

With everything else that you've been doing for the Legion, Galbinus has offered to detach one of his specialists to come help you establish this. He points out it's only fair after having given him both the Configuration methods, built a new home, and gave him a brand new alt-form.

Reforging the Shattered Spear - Due to the...mishap with the chemical composition of the Pilum's remains, this is easily going to be the most expensive project to re-initiate. At the rate it's going, it's actually just slightly less expensive than the damned dropship! But this promises to easily be one of the most potent projects you get your hands on, and you'll be able to produce your own versions of it! Like hell you're letting anyone else get their hands on it though.

Said chemical composition is also still there. Wilde and Henry want to know what the hell was coating this thing, and why it initiated a response now.

@Basarin If Dianna bonus was applied to the Air Force action then shouldn't we succeed in improving relations since we rolled four and the bonus lowers the threshold to four?
