Super Robot Quest

[X] Plan: Hit them where it hurts.
-[X] Use our troops to attack the Tank-Mobile Groups.
--[X] Don't combine with Beowulf just yet, hold until whatever the Westphalians have planned shows up.

A basic plan, but let's get the ball rolling.

  • [X] Plan: You left crumbs on my lawn!
-[X] Turn One Strategy: Callaghan and Jackal Group will cooperate, launching a Conventional Weapons Strike on one of the Gun-Truck Formations, making use of Cavalier's Students and Callaghan's secondary Strike to guarantee the kill as needed. TMU Longship Strike will engage the additional Gun-Truck formation (2d6). Agile will be used to evade counterstrikes, as will Callaghan's mech. Be aware that we counted three Gun Truck formations and two Buckler Formations but haven't accounted for two of them in this wave.
-[X] Turn Two/Three Strategy: Depending on results of Turn One. If Gun Trucks are eliminated, Jackal Formation is to begin chewing through the Buckler Formation one by one with Callaghan's support. Barring any major surprises, we should be able to clean them up in good order, and preserve our core assets for the Surprise, whatever it is. Heavy Weapon Strikes beyond the rearming Longships should be reserved for counterattacking enemy surprises, and a second Longship wave should not be dispatched against these numbers.
[X] Plan: You came to the wrong Fortress
    -[X] V-33 TMU, 'Falcon Configuration' -> Foxhound
    -[X] Heavy Weapons (1 RP)
    -[X] Experimental - K-Class "Arc Cannon" Artillery (2 RP)

@Pred1059, just getting a headstart, but I'm interpreting your plan as committing your support units to fighting the mooks?

Also, assuming you're holding off on wanting to combine the Beowulf with the TMU from your comment?

If there's no specific actions outlined for Callaghan or the Beowulf, I'll be directing their specific attack actions.

Bit of a slow night, but I'll leave voting open till the morning it looks like.

Right. I trust Callaghan to pick and choose targets well enough. I'm just saying we hold onto our combination trump card until we need it. Mostly the plan is to prioritize the squishy enemies first, before attacking the tougher ones.

Sounds good.

We'll just wait for a bit for fairness' sake to the other voters in case they wanted to present another plan. Yours is the frontrunner at the moment.

-[X] Turn One Strategy: Callaghan and Jackal Group will cooperate, with Callagahn using Ramming Speed as his opener on a Gun-Truck Formation, following that up with a Conventional Weapons Strike on the nearest target if the opener eliminates a Gun Truck formation, with the Jackal Squads assisting in cleaning up targets, making full use of the own Conventional Strikes and Cavalier's Students. TMU Longship Strike will engage the additional Gun-Truck formation (2d6). Agile will be used to evade counterstrikes, as will Callaghan's mech. Be aware that we counted three Gun Truck formations and two Buckler Formations but haven't accounted for two of them in this wave. Callaghan Reroll to be committed to Agile checks if needed.

Heavy Weapon Strikes beyond the rearming Longships should be reserved for counterattacking enemy surprises, and a second Longship wave should not be dispatched against these numbers. Callaghan Rerolls committed only when it would confirm a kill, otherwise on Agile activations.

Because this sounds much more coherent then the formal thing I was going to write up.

[X] Plan: You left crumbs on my lawn!

Yeah, a lot more tactical than my basic plan.

[X] Plan: You left crumbs on my lawn!

Proposal:
Blazing Fist (Upgraded) becomes "Primal Conflict: Grendel Buster"
Arc Saber/Sword becomes "Naegling"
Burn Saber/Sword becomes "Hrunting"

Because since we're going Celtic mythos, let's double down on that shit. Also, any ranged weapons get sweet spear names like "Brionac" and "Gae Bolg".

The next Super Robot we build with fully integrated K-Scale armor gets to be "Siegfried". :p

Also @Alectai why not use a ramming attack to instantly take out a Gun-Tank out of combat and using the follow up strike to focus fire on another? The variable configuration cat is out of the bag considering the rest of the army adopted our designs, and conventional weaponry deals only 1 damage as opposed to ramming which deqls 2 and KOs a Gun-Tank if it hits.

EDIT: I saw your edit of rerolls, tactically speaking isn't the ramming attack more important than the agile roll and it should be priority wise->Ramming->dodging? The Gun-Tank can make 2 attacks per round and agile can only trigger once so prioritising one hit KO probably means less damage in the long run.

Fair enough, let me adjust accordingly.

Isn't it just a single name so far? It could be Celtic mythos, but it could just as well be fictional heroes theme. Other mechs could just as easily be named Lu Bu. Or Gallahad. ... Not that I know much about Lu Bu. Or Gallahad.

Anyway, the finisher names you suggested are all from the Beowulf saga, aren't they? They sound fitting.
