Bully. Meanie.
At this point it is merely a matter of habit.

@DragonParadox, could we get the next chapter from the perspective of our mageling?
Lya death is always a risk, from any spell, regardless of spells available and if we don't push her XP, then she won't get it. Your reasoning makes no sense to me, her offense is low, but her defense is what it always is. Risk can not be avoided, only mitigated.Nothing theatrical about the plan. Sure, it makes an impression on the audience, but it's also a powerful combat form, with much higher HP, a significantly higher Fortitude save, and Frightful Presence. And it's kinda shocking to all of a sudden have a roaring dragon Teleport into your immediate vicinity, which might make the difference between the cultist killing our Initiate, or panicking for a split second.
Theatrics can be found in what you have Viserys say. It is beyond cheesy to read. Not mechanics cheese, but cheesy spechwriting. Sorry, it just really seems ooc for the focused combatant that we try to not have talk in combat.
Lya might need the XP, but she's also extremely low on spells and the most fragile of our nearby Companions. If the cultist is able to get off even a single spell, and it strikes Lya fatally, she'll be set back much further in XP gain.

We have more to worry about him fleeing than loosing a party member, Viserys does not need to be dragon, unless you think that it's worth the extra round for others to buff/move?
Hell, just be sure to add in "use wings of cover to prevent save or dies from mage"
Also, I think that greater Teleport can put Richard right beside the Mage's square .
My reasoning might not be all that great, but there's also the simple fact that of everyone we have close at hand, only Lya is remotely qualified to continue the presentation in our absence.
Happy, @BeepSmile? You should know that between them all, Lya will be getting very little XP.
[X] Plan "We saved you a snack, Snake-Bro."
-[X] Viserys quickly steps away from the newly grown Heart Tree then switches to his Red Dragon form.
--[X] He commands the Legion soldiers present to maintain order, and loudly announces that he will return shortly. He then gathers those Companions who are present.
---[X] While the Companions approach, Malarys casts Sign, Garin casts Darkbolt, Lya casts Harmonic Chorus on Viserys (using the Swift Concentration skill trick to maintain the effect), and Viserys casts Freezing Glance, then uses Greater Teleport to transport them to the cultist's location.
----[X] Upon arrival;
-----[X] Malarys uses his Sign buff to set his Initiative check result to 21, then hits the cultist with a Quickened Targeted Greater Dispel Magic, followed by a Barbed Chains spell, with all four chains attempting to trip the cultist rather than injure. He uses Alter Fortune to insure the Dispel is successful.
-----[X] While maintaining Harmonic Chorus on Viserys, Lya targets the cultist with Pronouncement of Fate; he is a vile creature unworthy of being referred to as human, who has offered himself to, and become as bad as, his foul Daemonic masters. For the good of all mortal life, he must be dealt with most harshly.
-----[X] Garin targets the cultist with all four of his remaining Darkbolt rays as a Free Action, then Shadow Jumps to the cultist's location as a Move Action and uses Shadow Pounce to make a full attack against him, if he has not yet been subdued. He does not attempt to slay the cultist, merely to harry and subdue.
-----[X] If close enough, Richard uses his Anklet of Translocation to place himself between the cultist and the Scholarium Initiate. He uses Shock Trooper to charge the cultist, then Power Attacks with an aim toward brutally subduing him, breaking or removing limbs as necessary.
-----[X] Viserys casts Nerveskitter, targets the cultist with Freezing Glance as a Free Action, then uses Baleful Polymorph to transform him into a turtle. If he resists the transmutation, Viserys casts Celerity and uses Baleful Polymorph once more.
Wait. We want to abort an important propaganda event so that Lya can get 50 XP? What?
[X] Plan Original Goldfish
-[X] Viserys quickly steps away from the newly grown Heart Tree then returns to his true form, that of a Red Dragon.
--[X] He roars, "Please continue the demonstration, Lya. To me, Richard, Malarys, Garin, one last foe shows himself!"
---[X] While the men approach, Malarys casts Sign, Garin casts Darkbolt, and Viserys casts Freezing Glance, then uses Greater Teleport to transport them to the cultist's location.

@Goldfish, seriously. Reconsider this. The amount of XP Lya would get is entirely pointless and your new version of dashing off without any preamble is likely to cause a friggin panic.

There's also the fact that it'll get Lya an utterly insignificant amount of XP.A minute long delay on a demonstration to stick a dude in a bottle and grab a trauma victim so she's not on her own. "One last foe shows himself" is painful to read, and regarding no warning: "He commands the Legion soldiers present to maintain order, and loudly announces that he will return shortly" also, pronuncement of date could be a deal breaker for if he has bead of newt prevention (having divined Viserys' methods) and lots of other buffing items[/B]
You are arguing to spontaneously leave our blood sacrifice to go away for a bit while the military keeps order. For what? For a piddly bit of XP for Lya? Because @Goldfish plan is capturing Rogar fice times over without involving her.A minute long delay on a demonstration to stick a dude in a bottle and grab a trauma victim so she's not on her own. I think the message of Worm was that they all had waaay to much trauma, and were batshit crazy at the basic level. Then got crazier as things went on. Lets try not to copy that....[] Because if there's anything Worm fandom taught me, is that there's no such thing as enough trauma!
He'll be her knight in simmering Hellforged armor, whether he likes it or not...
Why transform if you don't intend to smack him around? It might even bring down the place she's in.
