Has Amrelath cast any spells, actually? He must be able to... Yet we seem to know nothing about his spellcasting prowess. Is he a Sorcerer? Loredrake? Theurge? Does he have class levels?

Back on solid ground.

@Artemis1992, you are missing your mark there. I'm pretty sure the Legion would be fine with the Bonestorms, but they are not the problem.

The Tyroshi population was fed vicious propaganda against magic in general and us in particular. They are the ones we need to address and there is no way in any of the Nine Hells to sell the clouds of human bones to them.

You vote for something actively detrimental to your stated goal.

@das_slash, you are operating under the false assumption that we will keep the Reds in the dog-house, which is not the matter at hand and neither what I intend.

The Reds are just being opportunistic here. They try to get a place in the low-risk fighting as we wrap things up to claim some of the credit for this. They even have the gall to pretend that we wouldn't free the slaves and would try to paint that as their achievement.

Fuck no. We can have a cordial relationship, but this is no way to start one.

Ouch. I wonder how he feels about the fact that 3 or 4 hairless monkeys can smack him around :D
He is a CR 16 Dracolich.

There are extremly few hairless monkeys that could slap him around even with numerical superiority.
I guess if Bloodraven had a decent party behind him he could do it.

Otherwise we know of nobody who could?

I meant four party members with medium preperation :D
I know.
But if you don't count Viserys and Dany as hairless apes even that's difficult.

I would much prefer to avoid fighting him with anything but our very best.
I guess Richard, Lya, Vee and Tyene would have a good chance at beating him, but he might very well get some kills too.
If anyone is unlucky enough to fall to his Paralysis effects or if his SR happens to beat our first offence of spells he will do a lot of damage.

Most likely just a regular YA Red, meaning Sorcerer CL 5 and nothing else.
To become a Dracolich you need CL 11. This could be achieved with Practiced Spellcaster (+4), Draconic Power (+1), (+1) from Reserves of Strength. But it's more likely that he has Sorcerer levels, or levels in a Prestige class or two (because he has no familiar and literally every full casting PrC is better than base Sorcerer).

No, his backstory made it clear he was turned into a Lich against his will.
A curse from a greater dragon.

Also generally speaking you see a lot of Dracoliches appear as head henchmen for BBEGs in D&D settings, and a lot of that is tied up with the fact that a Dracolich's state is something generally imposed, and their loyalty generally enforced.

Dragons are all around awesome and it is rare that one would willingly use undeath as a means for immortality, given their long lifespan and most likely having aspirations for either dying in an incredible blaze of glory or achieving divinity, limited or otherwise.

So most Dracoliches are either leftover assets from some Big Bad's fallen empire, or the unwillingly, ornery and grumpy hench of the current one.

Given our current (albeit temporary) arrangement with Amrelath... not inaccurate at all, on either account.

Also, dracoliches in this story retain enough free will to be able to want to live again. Also something you don't see with every undead.

I am almost at the point of operating as if Amrelath is an ascended Dragon-Blooded, he's been too sane. (Unless negative energy somehow improves a red dragons attitude)

(I am kinda surprised for not reading anything along: "let's use the red priests from now on", i.e. Viserys easily fits their Messianic profile, they are the largest and (most?) organized religion in Essos, they'll happily go to the wall, and if R'hllor is really Asmodeus in disguise he's at least lawful evil.)

No. Dracoliches aren't just dragons becoming liches.
To craft a Dracolich Phylactery and brew Dracolich Brew, you need to be CL 11. So although the template doesn't specify it, because it says "you must craft a Dracolich Phylactery" and such it effectively requires CL 11.

Still, I suppose that someone else could do it and force him to drink the brew. Cursed with Lichdom indeed...

Dracolich Phylactery has no minimum CL as a regular one,but it is CL 13 and needs a Control Undead Spell.
There is no mention that the Dracolich has to create either the Phylactery or the Brew himself.

By the way, looking for items and this looks fitting for us:
Cloak of The Sorcerer-King

Like the ripples of sunlight off a pool of water, the brilliant colors of this full-length cloak seem to dance and swirl as its wearer moves. Woven from hundreds of tiny scales taken from each of the five chromatic dragons, this cloak has the ability to imbue the wearer with some of their power. The cloak of the sorcerer-king grants its wearer a +6 enhancement bonus to Charisma. In addition, it allows the wearer to take on the aspect of each of the chromatic dragons once per day, gaining some of the abilities of that dragon. Activating an aspect is a standard action for the wearer, and each aspect lasts for 1 minute. No other aspect may be assumed for the duration of the effect. The following describes the aspects and their effects.
  • Black: The cloak becomes jet black and drinks in the surrounding light like a bottomless pit. The wearer's features shift subtly, his skin and hair take on a grayish cast and his eyes become an acidic shade of green. The wearer gains acid resistance 30 and may cast darkness once as a spell-like ability while the aspect lasts (CL 18th). In addition, any sorcerer spell he casts with the acid or water descriptor is automatically extended and empowered, as the metamagic feats, with no adjustment to the spell's level or casting time.
  • Blue: The cloak becomes dark blue and faint sparks of electricity dance over it. The wearer's features shift subtly, his skin and hair take on a bluish cast and his eyes fade to pure white. The wearer gains electricity resistance 30 and may cast ventriloquism once as a spell-like ability while the aspect lasts (CL 18th). In addition, any sorcerer spell he casts with the electricity or earth descriptor is automatically extended and empowered, as the metamagic feats, with no adjustment to the spell's level or casting time.
  • Green: The cloak becomes deep, forest green, and seems to fade into natural vegetation. The wearer's features shift subtly, his skin and hair take on a greenish cast and his eyes become a sickly shade of yellow. The wearer gains acid resistance 30 and may cast suggestion once as a spell-like ability while the aspect lasts (CL 18th). In addition, any sorcerer spell he casts with the acid or air descriptor is automatically extended and empowered, as the metamagic feats, with no adjustment to the spell's level or casting time.
  • Red: The cloak becomes bright red and seems to smoke and smolder. The wearer's features shift subtly, his skin and hair take on a reddish cast, and his eyes glow with a golden light. The wearer gains a fire resistance 30 and may cast locate object once as a spell-like ability with the aspects lasts (CL 18th). In addition, any sorcerer spell he casts with the fire descriptor is automatically extended and empowered as the metamagic feats, with no adjustment to the spell's level or casting time.
  • White: The cloak becomes snow white and a chill hangs over it. The wearer's features shift subtly, his skin and hair fade to a bleached white and his eyes darken to pure black. The wearer gains cold resistance 30 and may cast fog cloud once as a spell-like ability while the aspect lasts (CL 18th). In addition, any sorcerer spell he casts with the cold descriptor is automatically extended and empowered, as the metamagic feats, with no adjustment to the spell's level or casting time.
Strong abjuration and transmutation; CL 18th; Craft Wondrous Item, eagle's splendor, resist energy, creator must be a sorcerer; Price 102,000 gp, Weight 2 lb.

Greater Undead are very goal-oriented creatures, to the point where their particular obsessions overwhelm the instincts and character of their formerly living selves. Generally those obsessions are of the kind not appreciated by nearby living creatures, the desire to spread their taint that others may know the same suffering, to spread chaos and despair etc... However it just so happens that Amrelath's loathing is mostly directed inwards, any hatred and jealousy of the living strictly secondary to getting his proper living form back.

To offer a compassion Wyla is reasonable in spite of being undead, while Amrelath is at least partially because of it (As well as Viserys and Daenerys being dragon enough to earn some respect).

@Everyone Can we break this tie? Though I guess it doesn't really matter. If we don't achieve consensus it's going to pretty much have to be an interlude.

[X] Plan Thanks, but no thanks.
-[X] Tell Amrelath to destroy the Bonestorms once they escape his control.
-[X] Speak to the Red Priests
--[X] Thank the priests for offering to help, but order them to keep their forces contained in their temple. We have kept the city from descending into an orgy of chaos and death through meticulous planning and well established lines of communication. The Fiery Hand would not be briefed on our plans, nor have access to our methods of communication, and we do not wish for them to be set upon by any of our forces who might mistake them for enemies. They can rest assured that the institution of slavery will be abolished in Tyrosh within hours.

Thanks, @Azel. This is actually what I wanted from the beginning before I started trying to compromise with people.
