Horses have many fine qualities, but 'stealth' is not one of them.
Huh. I'd been assuming our steed made of shadow carried us "noiselessly", like the RoS spell? I guess I made the assumption with our constant reading from horseback, best done without the distraction of hoof beats.

Anyway. Job done.

Dont hate returning to be honest if we are offered the choice of scouting the thunder mountain when we get back if they are worried about it ?

Well thunder mountain is only a threat to our supply line when we go conquer k8p is the point and i dont wanna go back to it later is my worry.

I imagine we are gonna leave some of the humans and dwarf meh people behind here or assign the supplies carrying to them . For example the stirland hunters might fit this and maybe some of the other human army aswell and maybe the demigryphs since they will be abit useless at times at siege. Maybe 1 of them at at the siege and the other as the escort so they have a heavy cav presence where they are best.+ alot of rangers aswell especially when we get to proper clearing .

And as i mentioned the port might be a human/dwarf settlement to avoid the black crag for people who are risking death pass for the far east caravans and could be used as a point of southern dwarf trade to the north hopefully since it will be connected to barak var by river if we are succesful in the campaign.

Basically, I don't have a problem with scouting Thunder Mountain but every update we spend scouting is an update where we aren't meeting people. So, since we only get one update every 24 hours, I'd rather get back to the Army and have updates centered around that.

[X] Return to the Expedition.

Scouting accomplished, time to report.

Let the council use the information to decide a course of action.

As you advance, step by careful step, the distant squeals and squabbling of the Underways current inhabitants reach you long before the tiny sparks of their minuscule and eternally-confused brains shows up to your Magesight. Greenskins, but not the terrible orcs, not even the treacherous goblins: the smallest, stupidest, and most pointless of the greenskins have called this stretch of the Underway home. Snotlings.
I love how they're so eternally confused they show up like candles on Ulgu.

A thought occurs: While permanent Enchanted Items take a month (Unless you are Kragg) we can make multiple one-shot items in a reasonable time frame. Thus it should be possible to make magical arrows that contain a spell to be triggered on impact. We couldn't make many but even a small handful could prove decisive with the right spell.

Now most of our spells are pretty useless of this. However in TT the Woodelves have an Item called Starfire Arrows that lets an archer cause Panic by inflicting only a single wound (normally you need to kill 25% of the target). This seems similar to the effect of Dread Aspect applied to an arrow rather than a person.
I think that equipping a few of our best sharp shooters with the ability to rout an enemy unit with one arrow would be a worthy contribution to the campaign.

(Just a shame that Panoramia isn't an Enchanter. Her Curse of Thorns and Father of Thorns spells would both be great for this. One the for monster crippling and the other for breaking enemy charges.)

@BoneyM
Would it be possible to enchant one or more arrows/crossbow bolts/(bullets?) with a single-use Dread Aspect effect?

Three hours to get to Thunder Mountain and three hours to return and that doesn't even include the time spent scouting. This could easily lead to an entire day's delay and we're already running a bit late.

Edit: It's actually three hours including the return trip so never mind.

It's three hours of travel time total, an hour and a half each way. Mathilde's speed is about 30 miles an hour, and Thunder Mountain is at most 50 miles from the closest point of the path between Mathilde and the Expedition.
