[X] You don't know enough to make a decision one way or the other. Follow the creature and see if its actions shed light on its purpose.
So when it hatch would it be cracking a cold one ?
Pretty sure it can't outrun us, given our untireable shadowsteed.
... Part of me kinda want a high-speed greatweapon mounted chase scene.
The only time we'd need to know exactly where this dragon ogre or group of dragon ogres live is if we're trying to lead a killteam after them, and I don't see that such a team exists or is likely to exist in the near future.
Given the requirements for promotion and how battle-wizards work in this quest I don't see that journeymen would be much worse than 'full' wizards.
Terradons match the description. Unlikely to be Cold Ones as they come from the frozen north as often as Lustria. Possibly one of the Salamander variants but I hope not. Darn things are untameable."Carnivore," she confirms. "Not apex. Not especially intelligent, but sharp senses."
Worrying as this is… after the last scouting attempt all I can think is 'At least, a challenge worthy of our skills.'
The part in the update where due to its speed and the rocky terrain if we lose it we won't be able to find it again, maybeI have no clue where people are getting 'It can outrun us' from. Neither type of DO can overtake a galloping horse.
Wow people are really underestimating Dragon Ogres. These things are fucking terrifying murderbeasts as a default, @BoneyM have there been any thunderstorms recently? Because if so it might still be storing up lightning it can throw around.
If Mathilde tries kiting the dragon ogre and it turns out to be a scout, it'll probably try to run back to its camp rather than fight. Then I suppose she could try kiting it and chip away at it's health with her revolver or something.
@BoneyM From reading various OOC stuff, I have some idea, but it really does not work with currently available IC knowledge. So. Can we get a short info blurb on what Mat thinks, or knows, about the Dragon Ogre, or is that short blurb in the update all we get in the moment?
So as to make our decision, should we consider Mat to only be considering what was mentioned, as she suddenly is faced with such a monstrous foe?
Or is the knowledge ingrained, so that she can think of it even at a moments notice? And if so, what would that knowledge be. I'd rather not post in thread, to avoid OOC knowledge polluting it. Because boy do I have some OOC ideas about this, but I'd really rather check if this is something to act on, if Mat is also aware, or something to shut up about, if she is not.
OK then. Shutting up now, and I'll abstain from voting. Thanks for the prompt response. That's pretty much all Mathilde knows of them. They're big, nasty, chaos-aligned, and there's a myth about them and lightning. They only come to the Empire's attention when they join the very worst of chaos hordes or beastherds, which means there's not much known of them.
