@DamienGale, insulting people by declaring anyone who disagrees with you as a 'troll' is pushing it. Do not do this. You have been given a Warning For Marginal Behavior.

@Bomaz & @devo342, publicly threatening to Ignore people is against the rules. Do not do this. You have each been infracted for this.

@Vaermina, you can let arguments go instead of dragging them on with over-reliance on DC canon. Consider it.

@Vaermina, the last time you posted like this in a story thread I ended up having to kick you from it. If you can't stop making these ridiculous arguments, then I'll kick you from this story, too. This is your hint to stop. Don't argue about this warning, either, or I'll kick you out immediately.

@Karuadin, avoid back seat moderation style posting in future. While it's true that Vaermina has been infracted in the past for this kind of behaviour, it's not your place to bandy that about like a thread.

There are certain posters on this forum that have an unfortunate habit of treating their uninformed opinions as if they are unbreakable fact, and phrasing wild guesses and musing as if they're established and settled fact.

In reality, with the way the American legal system works, this wouldn't be so much an "open and shut case" as it would be "years and millions thrown at litigation until someone runs out of fucks to give." Rich-people court tends to work that way.

stop Tone down the incivility and the red text.

Mercy's a legally registered bodyguard.

Grayven's not an actual law enforcement officer.

Grayven didn't have a warrant to break into Lex's office which is required if he is to be considered there in an official capacity.

There's no way to argue Grayven was under any threat and he had already restrained Mercy.

There is no world that allows police officers to medically experiment on restrained prisoners.

And he doesn't have a license to practice medicine.

The case would literally be open and shut with Mercy ending up with very likely several billion dollars of awarded damages and a restraining order against Grayven.

At which point he would need another pardon from the President and Governor to avoid the criminal charges for a couple of those things on top of various other state and local laws he broke with this stunt.

Everyone has the capacity to raise questions or concerns about staff action, but don't gum up an existing thread with it. Send a PM, start a thread in Staff Communication, whatever. But we're just trying to do our jobs, so let us do them.

actually I don't remember making you a moderator, so think twice about telling other users what to do.

If an author is going to include content in their story then they should expect readers to respond to it. If the content they want to respond to is the lead character chuckling at the use of a homophobic slur in a joke, then that's the content they want to respond to. One of the least useful things you can do is attempt to curate the critique an author receives. Silverias didn't think much of it - it lowered his estimation of the lead character and the people making the joke. That strikes me as a valid response. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that other readers didn't really think much of it either but don't feel confident speaking up about it because of exactly this kind of behaviour.

Not everyone will respond positively to every element of a story, and you need to learn to suck it up.

Gratuitousness violence is a part of comic-book setting. If the Punisher can feed dudes into wood-chippers or set bears on them, then we should be free to talk about it here.

warning The Community Compact explicitly states that rule 2 applies to fictional and historical persons. While that application is somewhat relaxed in cases of fictional characters, about the time that people are talking about their preferred method of torturing a fictional character is about the time people should be told to get a grip. Because, seriously, get a grip.

As I recall this isn't the first time we've had to warn people against the advocacy of gratuitous violence in this thread, and to be perfectly honest I don't want to have to keep sending moderators in here to get people to chill out. I don't care about the time that Black Adam killed a whole bunch of people or the Sentry tore those guys in half or whatever messed up thing happened in Punisher MAX. SV has rules so just wind it all back a little, peeps.

iamnuff you can take a week off from this thread under rule 5. If you know not to go about these things in this way, just don't.

Those other factions of Spider Guilders & Gordanians have no bearing at all on this; what matters is that Paul massacred one group and spared another for each doing the same exact bloody thing.


Oh, this is some bullshit. They had a homeworld. It was called the Citadel. Paul smashed it into radioactive slag. Do you also define what is and is not a person's home by how it was built? Or do you determine it based on what place they, as a society and as a people, come from and return to?
