I find this all entertaining since in the actual episode the Thanagarians are building in the Gobi Desert.
Are you sure? I just rewatched the part where they start building and I can't find a specific mention of the location. The clothing worn by the locals says 'Middle East' to me more than it does China.

Very sure, I'd have to find time to rewatch the episodes again but it's mentioned in one of the episodes that the device their building is in the Gobi Desert. I can't find a transcript online right now and only have the two links I provided as "proof".

I just don't see how the Chinese would be alright about there being a substantial American military presence in their territory like that.

At 17:50, give or take, in part two is when it's mentioned. Clark is questioning one of the Thanagarian soldiers about unauthorized construction in the Gobi Desert.

A lot of the details don't add up, like the Middle Eastern clothing. But I think they would be fine with it; the beginning scene in part two seems to suggest the world leaders have come together in the face of the threat.

Huh. Well, on Earth 50 they went with Libya.
Uh, Renegade? It's not your alter ego, it's the alternate equivalent of the guy you're impersonating...
Unless he's an SI too.
they where probably promised some advanced tec
Oh, they'd let the Thanagarians build there, but they'd guard it themselves. Okay, they'd probably guard it with gear they copied from the US, but it would be Chinese personnel.

Good rule of thumb is to take anything that Vaermina states as a fact with a metric ton of salt. Or to treat the exact opposite of what he says as a fact, since he's usually wrong.
attention Cool it. Sniping at other posters like this is not conducive to a peaceful forum.

Well, they weren't especially suprised by Grayven being a Lantern, so maybe. Oh my. That would be interesting, I just want to know how the series of events leading to impersonating Grayven would occur twice in vastly different universes.
Probably because (I think) Grayven has access to the Omega Force. It's pretty damn bullshit. Also, both the SI and Grayven are in the habit of not projecting their construct filaments/beams directly from the ring itself, so that could go a way towards obfuscating Lantern-ness. Also wielding the only known non-Green ring helps, too.

What color magic do you use?

Edit: Oh and here is a thought what would happen if someone with no soul put on the Helmet of Fate?

Oh my, that second one:

I'm going to assume that Grayven 50 and 12 are doing more or less the same thing

You just gave me an idea!

Yep, we've got another SI-instance running around cosplaying as a Grayven. Which is especially interesting in a setting WITHOUT A GRAYVEN. :p
EDIT: Wonder what he has for a ring...
