Okay, look: I don't want to ask a moderator to lock this thread as I might want to come back and correct the spelling later. But please; stop posting here and move to the new thread.

highlighting the part of a post you are interested in brings up Quote and Reply options without needing to do the entire post.

You might want to do this in the other thread, that Zoat provided a link to (in a quote box) in the post right above yours.

I appreciate the input.
I'm still stumbling about, trying to learn the proper method for responding.
I'd hoped that my timing was close-enough to the time of the original story-posting to make my meaning clear to [Mr.Zoat],
but your method is clearly superior, because it's more time-flexible.
Are there any tricks I need to use, in order to insert multiple-but-disconnected text-highlights in a single posting?

Yeah, I noticed you only had a small number of posts under your belt. New to the board or just a former lurker?

while SV isn't as strict about it as SB, the general rule of thumb is 'don't added to a thread if it's been dormant for over 2 weeks, unless you have something relevant to add.'

As I said (and demonstrated here), by highlighting sections of text, you can 'quote' relevant sections of a post while ignoring the rest, it also includes links back to the post you are quoting from (the upward pointing arrow next to '___ said:' at the top of the quote box), and once a quote is saved, you can 'carry' it/them to a different thread.

Meaning you can quote posts from this thread, post them to the new thread and they will still link back to the posts in this thread.

A little of both.
I'd tried to contribute a long while ago, royally botched it, & not-so-much "Rage-Quit" as-much-as "Embarrassed-Quit". The format for conversational give-&-take here is very different from what I've seen elsewhere, & the ability to erase my 'misteaks' is not as intuitive as what I'd learned in other places.

For example --- I wasn't expecting the "QUOTE"-command to replace the "COPY/PASTE"-commands that I'd known for so long.

In any event, I hope I prove worthy of the patience you all have shown me.

A blast from the past was linked and I see myself asking the same question again.

What happened to Dana Dearden after that time fuckery mess, I don't remember if Zoat clarified what happened to her.
