Or until the thread gets locked and the last poster is ultimately decided.
You have the advantage of winning regardless. After all, no matter who else posts, you will always be @TheLastOne lastAh, but nothing says the last poster will actually manage to call out last. Even worse, the moderator who locks the thread might post something like 'Locked', defeating everyone without even trying. Also...
Last!
Sure, you could, but that's kind of a dick move. No, but it is aided by perseverance. In theory, they could just keep posting "last" after everyone else who comments, until even the most spiteful of posters gets bored of trying to undermine that meaningless victory.

Just in case anyone is still staring despondently at this thread and wondering when the next update is coming, please consider moving to the new thread in the link above. In response to a request from @teamfireyleader, I'm posting this here in order to trigger people's alerts.
Anyone who hadn't read the below post yet, please update your notifications to the new thread.
highlighting the part of a post you are interested in brings up Quote and Reply options without needing to do the entire post.
You might want to do this in the other thread, that Zoat provided a link to (in a quote box) in the post right above yours. From these text-blocks, my suggestions are in ALL-CAPS:

I appreciate the input.Without actually quoting the text or at least listing which parts they are from, your corrections are useless, because there is waaay too much story text to search through to find them.
And by quoting I mean:
highlighting the part of a post you are interested in brings up Quote and Reply options without needing to do the entire post.
Yeah, I noticed you only had a small number of posts under your belt. New to the board or just a former lurker?I appreciate the input.
I'm still stumbling about, trying to learn the proper method for responding.
while SV isn't as strict about it as SB, the general rule of thumb is 'don't added to a thread if it's been dormant for over 2 weeks, unless you have something relevant to add.'I'd hoped that my timing was close-enough to the time of the original story-posting to make my meaning clear to [Mr.Zoat],
As I said (and demonstrated here), by highlighting sections of text, you can 'quote' relevant sections of a post while ignoring the rest, it also includes links back to the post you are quoting from (the upward pointing arrow next to '___ said:' at the top of the quote box), and once a quote is saved, you can 'carry' it/them to a different thread.but your method is clearly superior, because it's more time-flexible.
Are there any tricks I need to use, in order to insert multiple-but-disconnected text-highlights in a single posting?
A little of both.Yeah, I noticed you only had a small number of posts under your belt. New to the board or just a former lurker?
For example --- I wasn't expecting the "QUOTE"-command to replace the "COPY/PASTE"-commands that I'd known for so long.As I said (and demonstrated here), by highlighting sections of text, you can 'quote' relevant sections of a post while ignoring the rest,
